Our rustic modern, 730 sf, detached guesthouse overlooks the Evergreen forested foothills. Hiking trail 200 yards away in Three Sisters Park. Scenic backroad to Red Rocks bypasses concert traffic. Serene massage studio next door. Wildlife galore! New beds, floor, windows, furniture, and Roku TV. Enjoy tranquility while just a 3 mile drive to crowds of historic downtown with restaurants, breweries, shopping, and lake activities. Our place is great for up to 2 couples or a family wanting to figuratively bathe themselves in nature!
Being elevated on a ridge over the neighborhood, our guesthouse feels secluded even with the drapes open, yet is a central hub for your mountain adventures! With the right weather, alpenglow sunrises will await you with your cup of coffee.
When 3+ guests (upcharge from 2 guest rate), we unlock and prepare the brand-new Murphy wall bed with new memory foam mattress. You can easily lift it away during the day for more space. Upcharge for use when just 2 guests (let us know before booking).
We, Amy and Cyrus, live in the A-frame chalet far enough downhill from the guesthouse that you will have plenty of privacy, and we give you as much or as little attention as you want.
After exploring for the day, take advantage of our tranquil backdrop by unwinding with a drink or relaxing on the deck with a good book—but we don't apologize for any deer distractions! Or, use this time to catch up with that Netflix series you always meant to watch—we won't judge!
Four people can comfortably hang out on the brand-new club chairs, leather couch, bean bag, and our four-seat breakfast table.
Like most places in the foothills, there is no AC. Usually, all you need is the ceiling fan in the living room and the stand fan in the bedroom (except during a major heat wave). Even when unusually hot, it cools down fast when the sun goes down.
Although central heat is the main heat, we do have an easy-to-use wood pellet stove that gives that cozy cabin feel. It does have a motorized blower, so it does make some sound.
We have a new 43" HDTV with Roku streaming. We provide Netflix access. You can bring your own subscription log-in for HBO, Showtime, Amazon, Hulu, SlingBox, or YouTube TV access. No cable or antenna TV access.
You can bluetooth your phone to the stereo with subwoofer. High-speed wifi is available surrounding the guesthouse.
A sunny deck with patio furniture wraps halfway around the guesthouse.
The guesthouse gets flooded with sunlight and we just put in a brand-new huge picture window, but we have room-darkening drapes on the sunny morning side.
The detached guesthouse is above the garage (but we do not park cars in it). There are 2 outdoor parking spaces for guests in the paved driveway.
There is *NO SMOKING* of any kind allowed anywhere on the property.
We just put brand-new wood porcelain tiles in the common area. You'll sleep in comfort in our new high-end queen memory foam mattress and bedding. There is a full-length mirror in the bedroom.

It does not contain a kitchen sink, but bathroom sink can be used for basic washing. Please, no food scraps, etc down the toilet as we're on a very moody septic system.
If you are in need of more kitchen space/tools, we may be able to arrange something for you. Please let us know ahead of time.
We supply a blow dryer and clothes iron. Ironing board available on request.
We can provide storage for road/mountain bikes. Single-track just 200 yards away!
You have access to most of the property except for the main house, its wraparound deck, and the small fenced-in area containing our hot tub (unless given permission).
Our neighborhood shares the forest, and we mostly don't fence off the property boundaries. We will a provide a property boundary map so that you don't inadvertently wander onto neighbor properties.
This is a serene neighborhood (minus the random barking dog and other sounds of rural life) where each home has anywhere from 1 to 10 acres. Bordering an open space park, our street is especially quiet, and is a short dead-end with only a few neighbors.
The neighborhood trailhead for Alderfer/Three Sisters Park is *literally* 200 yards down our street. From there you can hike uphill to the top of Evergreen Mountain w/ a view of Mount Evans (14er). Or, take the rolling terrain to the Three Sisters area—perfect for children and those looking for a calming stroll. Mountain bikers and trail runners will appreciate the variety.
Popular activities in Three Sisters include rock climbing, horseback riding, snowshoeing, trail running, hiking (with dogs too), and mountain biking. All in, there are 15 miles of rambling paths and 1120 acres of evergreen and aspen forest, wildflower meadows, and rock formations to explore.
Please drive very slowly in the neighborhood as neighboring kids play on our street and deer and elk like to graze right next to the roads. Foxes and coyotes may even make a cameo!
Evergreen Lake has paddle boat, SUP, canoe, kayak, and sailboat rentals in the summer. It turns into the largest Zamboni-groomed skating rink in the world in the winter! It's fishable all year, just be sure to bring your own ice drilling equipment in the winter. The Lake House is a popular wedding venue from spring through fall.
Evergreen Golf Course, just uphill from the lake, was donated to the city by a private owner and is a beautiful, huge bang for your buck.
I think you get the point that it is Q.U.I.E.T. out here. Please be mindful and help us keep our neighborhood safe and peaceful.
Other than Three Sisters Park, you'll need a car to get around.
Driving distances without traffic:
- 8 mins: charming historic downtown with fantastic restaurants, breweries, and shopping; Evergreen Lake with watersports, fishing, ice skating, and golf; Maxwell Falls
- 10 mins: full-size Safeway grocery store, top-notch liquor store, and gas stations
- 30 mins: Red Rocks world-renowned concert amphitheatre (via gorgeous canyon road), casino towns, Staunton State Park
- 40 mins: downtown Denver
- 1 hour: Denver airport
- 1 to 2 hours: world-class ski towns, peak of Mount Evans by car (highest paved road in US), epic hiking/backpacking, Rocky Mountain National Park
If booking in the winter:
Roads get snow plowed often. As long as there's no more than a few inches of snow, any vehicle will be just fine out here. But please drive carefully after dark—roads are curvy and are susceptible to black ice at night.
