About Brenda Golden

The Golden Family live in Roswell, Ga and enjoy their retreats to Rockport. They pastor St. Peter's Place Anglican Church and own Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee company which works with farmers in Rwanda while providing coffee drinkers in the U.S with an excellent cup.

Brenda Golden purchased this house in 2006

Why Brenda Golden chose North of Boston & Greater Merrimack Valley

The Golden family fell in love with Rockport while Jonathan was attending Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. As Jonathan walked the paths of Cape Ann he was reminded of his families roots in Cornwall, England. The property is a historic home that they restored in 2006. It has beautiful views and easy access for brisk swims, kayaking and paddle boarding right from the back yard.

What makes this house unique

Bicycling, kayaking, paddle boarding, close enough to town but far enough for quietness. It is truly a family place.

Great Family Getaway!

  • 4 of 5

House was very comfortable for the 10 of us. The little ones enjoyed going down to the water and grabbing critters. Great view of the ocean and sitting on the deck with a glass of wine.

Beautiful house, very well maintained and designed, with gorgeous views!

  • 5 of 5

I celebrated my 75th birthday there with my wife, children, their spouses and grandchildren. There was lots of room to talk, play (inside and outside) and nice walks nearby. The house is impeccably maintained and well stocked with virtually everything one would need for a week's stay. Neighbors were pleasant and the next door neighbor even rushed over to volunteer to take our group portrait! What was also great was that the kitchen, dining area and porch are all together so that we could easily continue socializing while cooking and enjoying our meals. Decks afforded gorgeous views of ocean and night sky.

Great spot, clean, ocean views from the decks and rooms

  • 5 of 5

Six college roommates convened for a 60th birthday get together. Each person had a bed. Great memories cooking together and hanging out on the deck with the beautiful view. The area is lovely for exploring the parks and going into the quaint villages. Would love to go back sometime!

Golden Cottage by the Sea Heavenly!!!

  • 5 of 5

Golden Cottage by the Sea was absolutely beautiful and perfect for us. The water view was unbelievable and I loved how the kitchen & dinning area were so open. I mean really could not have had a better place to celebrate my son's college graduation!

No one wanted to leave....the day we left it was raining and we were all so would've been so much harder to leave if the sun was shinning!

Most beautiful place on earth

  • 5 of 5

I was planning this trip since a year, since I celebrated my 50th Birthday here. Knowing the Area very well, it was always our dream to have a house out here. This dream became true, at least for 10 days! Coming from Germany we had all different kinds from weather! The first days warm and peaceful, the last days stormy and freezing. I had the greatest Birthday ever, in a place that felt like home. Sitting there, watching the ocean, going on walks, sharing great moments with friends and family! I will miss this place so much being back in Germany, but I WILL come back, to this "most beautiful place on earth "!

Great house

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here over New Year's week and had a wonderful time. Very comfortable and appealing house with a magnificent ocean view. It also has a great location, in a very attractive neighborhood, just a quick drive into Rockport and a nice walk to Halibut Point. Perfect!

Seven minute drive to the sandy beaches of Rockport. Rated in the top 3 Beaches in New England. A renowned scuba diver’s spot, Back Beach is located between Main and Granite streets. It also offers great views. If you are looking more for peace and quiet, Cape Hedge Beach on South street is quietly tucked away – a perfect place for solitude. Front Beach is a busy beach on Sandy Bay – walking distance to downtown Rockport and its restaurants and shops. Long Beach, off Thatcher Road, is another long, protected stretch of ocean and sand, backed by a cement retaining wall and lined with summer cottages. From Long Beach you can easily view the twin lighthouses on Thatcher's Island. Great fishing, whale watching tours are available. Kayak rental and tours. Stroll along the streets of downtown, and the famous stretch on Bearskin neck, through a variety of specialty stores.
