3 Bedroom Villa Sleeps 6
Hello and welcome to villa Maridadi! Villa Maridadi was completed in August 2013 and recently renovated, it is located in the grounds of Msitu Kwetu, Diani. Originally a forest with beautiful shrubs, trees and flowers, many of which still remain. Villa Maridadi is very clean and is our home, not just a rental property, unlike many other rental properties in Diani. Many of its contents have been flown in from the UK except for the furniture that has been handmade locally. The house is round in shape with a Makuti roof, very African in design. There are 4 different types of monkeys that will visit Villa Maridadi from time to time, very cheeky but adorable.
Diani beach is just moments away and is within approx 8 minutes walk. The beach access is just across the road from the entrance of Msitu Kwetu. Diani Beach is arguably the best beach in Kenya, with its amazing turquoise warm waters of the Indian Ocean and beautiful white sands. It's absolutely amazing!
Villa Maridadi can accommodate up to a maximum of 6 people and is in a safe and secure environment. It has 3 double bedrooms. The ground floor bedroom has en-suite shower room and upstairs two further bedrooms with an inter-connecting shower room, just great for families. There is a downstairs open plan terrace for dinning and relaxing and an open plan terrace upstairs also for relaxing and watching the sun go down. The villa is very suitable for all ages, the disabled, the elderly, couples and families with children. There is wifi at the property and credit can be purchased locally, just ask the maid. We have installed a well in our compound, so we have constant hot water, using our newly installed solar panel. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a maid who will clean, do washing and iron, as the case may be, but if needed, a chef can be hired, cost to be agreed locally. All food products, all cleaning materials, washing up liquid, washing powder, mosquito sprays, toilet paper, toilet cleaner etc. must be purchased by the guests, this is not included in the price. We can also arrange Babysitting on request, the cost to be agreed locally. Safaris, day boat trips, collections to and from the airport, can also be arranged. Tuk tuk's are a form of transport used by locals to get around but it is actually illegal, a law set by the Kenyan Government for Europeans/Non Kenyans to use this form of transport. Tuk tuk's are unlicensed, uninsured, unsafe and are not allowed into Msitu Kwetu. Although more expensive, it's much safer to use a taxi, taxi's are allowed into Msitu Kwetu. Car hire can also be arranged on arrival, just speak to the maid, whatever your requirements are, we will do out best to help you.
If you are just looking for relaxation, we have a massage bed & our regular masseur can visit the villa, to massage you at a time that suits you, for a small charge, to be paid locally. We feel sure you will enjoy your say at Villa Maridadi, Msitu Kwetu, the No 1 place to be!
The other activities in the area, Golf at Leisure Lodge, an 18 hole golf course moments away or further a field Mombasa Golf Club or even a trip to Nyali Golf Club, or Vipingo Kilifi, on the north coast, is a worthwhile experience. So Golf is very big in Kenya.
Why not take a boat trip and if you are lucky you will see the dolphins on the way! or do some snorkelling, scuba diving, or may be kite surfing on the beach, flying lessons at Ukunda airstrip can also be arranged. I am sure whatever your needs are, they can be met in Kenya.
Eating out can be cheap or expensive according to your budget, Forty thieves, Nomads, Blue Marlin, and Sails, or down by the fish market, colobus shade, fresh fish cooked at great prices and you can dine by the sea.
So there are many things to do, you will never be bored at Diani Beach.

Lovely villa in a great location, highly recommended
a well appointed property, with everything you need to be self sufficient. The staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The pool is first class and very well maintained by Dennis as are the grounds. Margaret is a good property manager, reliable and conscientious. And Jared the security guard always attentive and reliable. The villa is well placed for Diani beach an easy walk for anyone even small children. There are various people trying to sell you something or other, but everyone is friendly and they do take no for an answer. That is a small price to pay as a whole in this area for a experience that is very special and a world away from the overall sameness of Europe. I would very much encourage people to visit here. A special place, very beautiful and just that little bit of the beaten track,
Many thanks for taking the time to do a review, it is always very much appreciated. We are all very happy that you enjoyed your stay and that it was up to your expectations. We welcome you back at anytime. Many thanks and best wishes. Margaret Tomkins, Owner Villa Maridadi
Beautiful home close to the beach
We spent 2,5 weeks in the great Villa Maridadi, which means 'beautiful' and that says it all.
It's well designed, spacious and in very good shape offering all comfort you need.
The pool is perfect, surrounded by a nice garden.
The staff is very friendly and doing a great job! Asanteni sana Margaret, Dennis and Gerald.
Security is good and the area has a lot of shops and restaurants nearby.
The beach is 5 min. away and has the whitest sand.
It's been a wonderful family holiday in Diani, we hope to be back some day.

Enjoyable, Relaxing Vacation
This is my second visit to Villa Maridadi and the staff was most accommodating to our request on this visit as they were on my fist visit in 2105. Maggie was wonderful to work with and Dennis was again very helpful and kept the pool and grounds immaculate and well trimmed.
I plan to visit agin in July 2106 and stay again at Villa Maridadi.
Thank you very much for taking the time to do a review on Villa Maridadi, it's very much appreciated. I am very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and will return in July 2016. We very much look forward to welcoming you again.

Villa Maridadi is simply beautiful, surrounded by the lush trees and beautiful flowers. I visited friends in Kenya and stayed at this beautiful location for 7 days. Marseller, the maid, kept the villa immaculate and was most accommodating with our request. Dennis, the grounds keeper, made sure the pool and grounds were well maintained. The bedrooms were quite spacious and the sitting area upstairs allowed me to view the other villas nearby. A perfect place where I journaled each morning. I truly enjoyed the pool and the tranquility this location offered. I will definitely stay at this location again!
Thank you so much for taking the time to do a review, it is very much appreciated as guest comments are always very useful. I am happy you enjoyed your stay at Villa Maridadi and we all look forward to seeing you and the family again when you return to Kenya.
Many thanks and best wishes

Wow what an amazing villa
Villa Maridadi is a stunningly beautiful villa in a stunningly beautiful part of the world. The three bedrooms all had king size beds and the furniture / bathrooms are of very high quality. There is a great sitting area on the balcony and nice outside dining table and seat downstairs.
The pool and gardens were immaculately maintained by Dennis who came all day every day! We were also spoilt with our own maid and at night own personal security guard!
The villa is on a secure complex just across the road from Diani Beach which must be one of the finest beaches in the world. White sand and sparklingly clear water - you couldn't ask for better. We went on two boat trips (booked with the locals on the beach) which were amazing. The glass bottom boat trip took us to a little island that appears only during low tide. The snorkelling was fantastic. So good we booked an all day trip to Wasini Island the next day where we saw dolphins and snorkelled over coral relief which was out of this world. Another sand island appeared at low tide which just felt amazing to be standing on in the middle of the ocean! Absolute heaven.
Diani Beach has lots of great places to eat at very reasonable prices. We used a mixture of a hire car for a couple of days, Tuk Tuks and taxis. The people were very friendly although the beach sellers were a little annoying after you had been asked to buy something fifty times! You do feel sorry for them though as it is obvious the people do not have a lot of money.
All in all a fantastic holiday - I haven't mentioned the three days safari we did first that was also amazing! We will definitely return to Villa Maradadi in the future - but for two weeks next time. Thank you Margaret for all your help and advice and a great holiday - it was much appreciated.

More than expected
We stayed with our family, three teenagers for 6 days in your villa. We enjoyed it very much and can promote it to anyone who would like to stay close to the beach, loving a peaceful place.
5 minutes walking to a beautiful beach. Friendly service and staff who guide and inform us. We visit Wazini Marine Parc for a day. The beaches are clean and waves are amazing said a Dutchmen, who lives close to the Northsea.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do a review.. We always appreciate your feedback and are very happy you enjoyed your stay in Diani! Many thanks and best wishes and we look forward to welcoming you back to Villa Maridadi.
Take a Safari to nearby Shimba Hills or the Elephant Sanctuary or further a field to Tsavo East or West, or a flight from Ukunda to the amazing Masai Mara, Mount Kenya, Nakuru, or even Lake Navisha to see the flamingos, all a must!!! Many places to see. Or a trip along the coast to Malindi, very interesting!
