Hello and welcome to villa Maridadi! Villa Maridadi was completed in August 2013 and recently renovated, it is located in the grounds of Msitu Kwetu, Diani. Originally a forest with beautiful shrubs, trees and flowers, many of which still remain. Villa Maridadi is very clean and is our home, not just a rental property, unlike many other rental properties in Diani. Many of its contents have been flown in from the UK except for the furniture that has been handmade locally. The house is round in shape with a Makuti roof, very African in design. There are 4 different types of monkeys that will visit Villa Maridadi from time to time, very cheeky but adorable.
Diani beach is just moments away and is within approx 8 minutes walk. The beach access is just across the road from the entrance of Msitu Kwetu. Diani Beach is arguably the best beach in Kenya, with its amazing turquoise warm waters of the Indian Ocean and beautiful white sands. It's absolutely amazing!
Villa Maridadi can accommodate up to a maximum of 6 people and is in a safe and secure environment. It has 3 double bedrooms. The ground floor bedroom has en-suite shower room and upstairs two further bedrooms with an inter-connecting shower room, just great for families. There is a downstairs open plan terrace for dinning and relaxing and an open plan terrace upstairs also for relaxing and watching the sun go down. The villa is very suitable for all ages, the disabled, the elderly, couples and families with children. There is wifi at the property and credit can be purchased locally, just ask the maid. We have installed a well in our compound, so we have constant hot water, using our newly installed solar panel. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a maid who will clean, do washing and iron, as the case may be, but if needed, a chef can be hired, cost to be agreed locally. All food products, all cleaning materials, washing up liquid, washing powder, mosquito sprays, toilet paper, toilet cleaner etc. must be purchased by the guests, this is not included in the price. We can also arrange Babysitting on request, the cost to be agreed locally. Safaris, day boat trips, collections to and from the airport, can also be arranged. Tuk tuk's are a form of transport used by locals to get around but it is actually illegal, a law set by the Kenyan Government for Europeans/Non Kenyans to use this form of transport. Tuk tuk's are unlicensed, uninsured, unsafe and are not allowed into Msitu Kwetu. Although more expensive, it's much safer to use a taxi, taxi's are allowed into Msitu Kwetu. Car hire can also be arranged on arrival, just speak to the maid, whatever your requirements are, we will do out best to help you.
If you are just looking for relaxation, we have a massage bed & our regular masseur can visit the villa, to massage you at a time that suits you, for a small charge, to be paid locally. We feel sure you will enjoy your say at Villa Maridadi, Msitu Kwetu, the No 1 place to be!
The other activities in the area, Golf at Leisure Lodge, an 18 hole golf course moments away or further a field Mombasa Golf Club or even a trip to Nyali Golf Club, or Vipingo Kilifi, on the north coast, is a worthwhile experience. So Golf is very big in Kenya.
Why not take a boat trip and if you are lucky you will see the dolphins on the way! or do some snorkelling, scuba diving, or may be kite surfing on the beach, flying lessons at Ukunda airstrip can also be arranged. I am sure whatever your needs are, they can be met in Kenya.
Eating out can be cheap or expensive according to your budget, Forty thieves, Nomads, Blue Marlin, and Sails, or down by the fish market, colobus shade, fresh fish cooked at great prices and you can dine by the sea.
So there are many things to do, you will never be bored at Diani Beach.
