About the property

This great house was built in 1860, inside & out there is lots of room to enjoy

The Mansion is located in the heart of the Historic old town. You are one block from Queen Street, one block from the oldest golf course in North America and ½ block from Queens Royal Park on the river.

The house has 4 bedrooms, three with queen-sized beds, one with two single beds and a fold out couch in the library. The beds are all equipped with sheets and duvets, warm duvets for winter and cooler ones for summer. Each bedroom is supplied with two bath towels, a supply of hand towels are in the bathroom.

The dining room, living room and library are all on the main floor allowing lots of living space. The new flat screen TV is connected to a HD feed so the picture is perfect! The phone system will allow you to call about 60 countries free of charge and the Wi-Fi signal is excellent.

The kitchen is fully equipped, with fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave plus cooking utensils and dinnerware enough for ten people.

The house has three bathrooms, two on the second floor and a ½ bath on the main floor.

The courtyard garden adjacent to the kitchen is your outdoor dinning room with a Weber gas BBQ and Moroccan tile table that seats ten. The front veranda is a great spot for your morning coffee.

The remainder of the property contains a parking area for at least 5 cars, lots of grass and flowers. The garden area is the size of 2 normal city properties so there is lots of room to relax and spread out.

Why Don George chose Niagara-on-the-Lake

When buying or renting it is all about the location: This house is 1 block from Queen Street, the grocery store and the Golf Course. The Royal George Theatre is a block away! You can also enjoy dining at home in the sunny private side garden with Moroccan table and Weber gas BBQ. The 6 Muskoka chairs on the Lake side of the property provide a great spot for afternoon reading or wine tasting while you wave at the horse and buggy crowd. The front porch is my favourite for morning coffee. Marrakech Mansion is in the heart of the Heritage district the perfect spot to stay when visiting our town.

What makes this house unique

One of the largest flower gardens in Niagara on the Lake. The old roses that were saved when we renovated the garden are spectacular. We have also planted hundreds of Daffodils, tulips and other spring bulbs the early season the Aconites were in the garden when I purchased it and have prospered, look for them in March as the snow is melting. Peonies and flowering shrubs keep colour in the garden all summer. You can expect to see me cutting grass and gardening on Friday.

Great House and Location

My husband and I along with two other couples enjoyed a wonderful New Year celebration at Marrakesh Mansion. The house is immaculate and such a great location. Park your car and walk everywhere. We hope to be back in the Spring or Summer to enjoy the outdoor space which looks as great as in interior. Highly recommended.

fabulous weekend

I stayed at Marrakech Mansion in October. The home looked great in pictures but far surpassed my expectations once I stepped inside this gorgeous heritage home. The grounds were beautifully kept and I was able to enjoy them as the weather was also perfect. There were 10 of us in total. We had ample room to move about without knocking into each other. I would highly recommend this home and will gladly stay again.

My wife and I plus 3 other couples stayed here for a weekend of great food and excellent wine.

The house was perfect for the large group. Incredibly comfortable, clean and full of character. Will hopefully get back here annually to do it again.

Great Family Destination

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this house. For our extended family of 10 (including 3 children 4 years old and under) coming from various parts of Canada, it provided a great place whereby we could visit, share meals together, relax, sleep, be sick, laugh, and be reunited. It is well equipped and strategically located for excursions in and around Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, and Niagara-on-the-Lake. The house provides a unique blend of modern conveniences, and classic charm. We would gladly choose to stay here again, but would request that the area rugs be taken out for our stay, as we have pet allergies in the family and the place is definitely pet friendly. Don obviously cares for his place and it shows, as many tourists would stop on the sidewalk out front and take pictures. We highly recommend the Marrakech Mansion.

relaxing and wonderful!

4 couples shared this beautiful mansion for 3 nights. We all had lots of room to gather, relax, eat and visit. The location was perfect with very little need for a car. Hired bicycle tours, shops and restaurants as well as scenic parks are all in easy walking distance.

We all agreed that we will try and make this an annual event at this beautiful home full of character and warmth.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. The Mansion has 4 bedrooms, perfect for four couples. The parking area on the property can easily handle four cars so know one has to park on the street. There is however free overnight street parking if you prefer. Queen Street is a block away, Queens Royal park about 1/2 block. Zoom will deliver bikes and a short ride down Prideaux Street gets you to Fort George and the start of the River trail which makes for scenic safe riding. Great riding along the Niagara River.

Couples Retreat 10 out of 10!

Our group of 4 couples recently spent 3 nights at Marrekech Mansion and had a fantastic time. The pictures don't really do it justice. The location is outstanding and allows you to put away the car keys for the duration of your stay unless you want to go to the new outlet mall or golf somewhere other than the 9 hole course that's a 2 minute walk away. We ate at the golf course the first night but then decided the property was so amazing that we walked to the grocery store and bought salmon etc to barbecue on the Weber grill. The 8 of us sat out on the patio into the wee hours enjoying the ambience of the location.

We enjoyed the large dining table for our morning breakfasts. The beds were all very comfortable and have lovely crisp linens. The property is beautifully maintained and very clean. I would have no hesitation in recommending Marrekech Mansion and the owner was great to deal with. We look forward to returning in the near future.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. The location is fantastic, a block to the stores, and restaurants, the same to the golf Course and Queens Royal park. We try hard to keep the house very clean. My cleaning crew have been with me for several years and are paid by the hour, not by the job. I prefer they work a couple of extra hours so that the house is as clean as it can be. If they were paid a flat rate they would be more likely to rush through the job. The Duvets, sheets and pillow case go the Laundry Tub after EVERY guest stay. I prefer to spend a little more to be sure you crawl under a clean fresh duvet when you stay in one of my houses. I own CasablancaCottage as well, two blocks North on Victoria Street.

50+ Wineries where you can tour and taste, two new breweries with a third under construction. The Shaw Festival is always great with 4 theatres and many great productions.
