Great place to stay in Kauai.

Great one bedroom perfect for a couple. Beautiful views. We felt very safe and secure in the condo. The place does get a little hot as the sun starts to go down but it wasn't a big deal. Everything we needed was in the condo.

Owner's Response: Aloha, Thak you for your review. I was pleased to read that you enjoyed our condo at Sealodge. Sorry however you found it warm during sundown. Kauai starts to get warm around this time of the year. Many Sealodge owners installed air conditioners but ended up removing them as their electric bills soared due to guests leaving the units running 24-7. As you can well imagine electricity in Hawaii is extremely expensive! Some owners put timers on them but that did not always work. After living in Hawaii for 20 years you come to learn that during the heat of the day you go to the beach, the pool or out to do your shopping in air conditioned sores. Once the sun goes down typically the interior of homes start to cool down, especially if the winds are trades in combination with the ceiling fans. My experience in Hawaii was it was rare if a night didn't cool down considerably, sometimes so cool you needed a light blanket for sleeping. Over the last few years Global Warming has definitely raised the spring/summer temperatures on all the Hawaiian Islands. The winter months on the other hand are just the opposite. Mornings requiring a sweater and definitely a quilt at night. Mahalo for your business and enjoy our beautiful, cool east coast weather! Beautifully decorated. So comfortable and great views. Highly recommend it.

  • 5 of 5

We loved it. Looked just like a beach cottage. Great views and no one above or beside you. Really cooled down at night. Ceiling fans and breezes from every direction. Golf course, grocery store and snorkeling just five minutes away. We swam with sea turtles. Everything you need is provided. Next time we will take less because washer and dryer were great. Private, quiet, saw whales and had cardinals visit every day we went out on lanai. Would recommend to anyone who wants a stress free vacation.

Kauai: Absence makes the heart grow fonder!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 4th trip to Kauai, with the last 3 trips staying in Princeville!

When we reflect back on our stay in this condo, we have only really great things to say!

This corner unit provides a lot of privacy & sits overlooking a jungle-like ravine, followed by a view of the ocean. The ravine provided a lovely orchestra of birdsongs that was amazing. While relaxing on the lanai we watched gorgeous Albatross soaring regularly from this vantage point. A bonus was to also see them waddling around the nearby golf course, tending to their young. The property sits on a bluff over the ocean, where we were able to get some spectacular sunrise pictures, watch for rainbows, and spouting whales.

The condo is tastefully furnished, with a well stocked kitchen, and a really comfortable bed. There are lots of windows; all screened & providing a sea breeze at all times. There are overhead fans in every room, if you need them.

The condo building is situated at the end of a long drive, so there is no traffic passing by & no streets nearby. So quiet & perfect!

We prepared most of our dinners in the condo, & then off for a beach walk & sunset photos. The evenings were capped off with local entertainment at Tahiti Nui in Hanalei, or St. Regis Lounge or Happy Talk Lounge in Princeville. Bonus was free valet parking at the latter two.

Our most enjoyable dining experience was with Kauai Ono. A pop up outdoor gourmet food truck/restaurant of sorts, & was located on the Princeville ranch. The 5 course meal can be booked online before arriving in Kauai.

We highly recommend a Kauai vacation and would definitely love to stay at this condo again.

Beautiful views, very clean, awesome location

  • 5 of 5

This SeaLodge condo was perfect for our 2 person vacation. It has beautiful views from every window, it's close to the association's pool, and its completely furnished (including coolers, chairs, towels, etc to take to the beach!) It's not walking distance to the beach so we would recommend having a rental car if you plan to stay here. If you do have a rental car, it is a short drive to many of the awesome north shore attractions - NaPali Coast, Hanalei Bay, Queens bath, and it has a grocery store right around the corner.

We would definitely recommend this condo to anyone looking to stay on Kauai's north shore. The owner was very easy to work with and went above and beyond to recommend various things to do and resources to watch the weather (there were tropical storms in the forecast during our stay).

Great condo :)

  • 5 of 5

To be honest, I was a bit suspicious as to what we would find but while the outside of the building is a bit dated, the inside was great.

Layout was simple, but everything we needed and well presented. The bed is comfy and we both slept well. The views from the lanai were awesome and simply stunning from the clifftop.

The beach is a 5 minutes walk which we really enjoyed. Rain meant the track was really slippery to the beach the first day, so we turned back but by the next day it had dried out and we easily made it down to the beach and timed it just right to have it all to ourselves.

The ocean breeze meant the apartment kept cool and we didn't miss or need air conditioning at all. The kitchen is well stocked with what we needed for cooking, etc. The condo was clean and well presented and stocked with everything we needed including snorkeling gear, beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrella, and extra fans (which we didn't use as the ceiling fans and breeze were enough). Parking was easy. Other guests were all very friendly.

We had one night where there was a party across the valley and we shut the windows all up, but even that was all quiet by 10pm. The rest of the time it was quiet and peaceful and a great place to relax and unwind after busy days snorkling and out exploring.

Leila, the owner was excellent to deal with with prompt communication and information. It was the perfect option for us as we don't like resorts. It's a great place to base yourself from to explore the eastern and northern parts of the island.

Overall a great stay and we'd happily stay there again.

Owner's Response: Dear Liz & Lewis, Thank you for your very kind compliments in your review. I am happy you enjoyed your stay at our condo, Sealodge B-12. I am curious if it is our low rates that made you feel "suspicious" as to what you would find when you arrived? I hope that did not cause you any anxiety. Were you able to read our reviews prior to choosing our condo and if so, were they helpful in making you feel more confident about what you would find upon your arrival? To future renters, Sealodge's exterior material are Cedar Shakes. The color turns from a light tan to a dark brown as it ages giving it a very weathered and aged look in appearance. Sealodge owners picked Cedar Siding unanimously as it blended in nicely with the ocean and tropical landscaping. Also, the maintenance of cedar requires no paint further giving it a more natural look. Over the years Sealodge maintenance has been very diligent about replacing any cedar shakes that might need replacing due to age or extreme weather conditions. We hope you enjoy the rustic appearance of Sealodge high up on the bluff overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Leila Halligan, Owner
