It was an absolutely beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting! There were 9 adults in our group and there was ample space and seating for everyone both inside and outside. We had a blast!
Kirchen appliances were endless and very useful. Cabin very spacious and loved fireplace, unfortunately was difficult to control temp on main floor(hot) while lower level(cold) and needing to use heaters.

Thank you so much for your feedback! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the cabin, especially the kitchen appliances and fireplace. We also appreciate you mentioning the temperature difference between the main floor and lower level — each supply air duct has adjustable dampers that help balance temperatures throughout the seasons. We’ll be sure to check and adjust them for this time of year.
It was wonderful having you, and we hope to host you again soon!
Warm regards,
Rob and Tammy
We had a fantastic time. The extra large table was a selling point for us and it didn't disappoint. Many board games and TTRPGs were played this weekend .
Family get together, Rain forcasted but it did not stop us from having a great time. Used Hot tub, played cards on the deck and inside. Great kitchen area and dining area . Bedrooms provided good beds for rest and a place to get some private time alone. All in all a great house in the woods.
we could not stay in the house. it had a musty smell and caused my wife to have a asthma attack. the normal A/C unit was not working so they put window units in.

This cabin is nestled in a wooded area, which can be challenging for guests with severe allergies—especially on high-alert days. Unfortunately, it was also raining on the day of this guest’s arrival, which likely intensified the allergy issues. Shortly after checking in, the guest informed us that his wife was experiencing an asthma attack and that they needed to leave. He requested a refund, but due to the short notice, we were unable to provide one. We did offer to relocate them to an alternative property outside the woods, but they declined. This appears to be the main reason behind the 1-star review.
Regarding the air conditioning, while the central unit was operational, it had been struggling to keep up in the days leading up to their stay. To ensure comfort, we added two brand new window units and a portable air conditioner, and the cabin was cooling to 69°F upon their arrival. A brand new central A/C system has since been installed.
We’ve managed this cabin for seven years and have never received complaints about a musty smell prior to this review.
The cabin was beautiful, even had a Christmas tree. Very nice fireplace and large TV with comfortable seating. Porches were very nice with plenty of seating. Hot tube was big and clean, although we ended up not using it. Nice game room. There were only two complaints: the mattresses in two of the three bedrooms we used were uncomfortably firm and the commode in the lower level bathroom is unsteady. Overall, we had a lovely time and would stay there again.

The mattress has been replaced and the commode tightened
The property was beautiful. The driveway was steep. There was no water pressure when taking a shower. Overall peace and quit.

A call to maintenance would have fix this problem. The water filter of the softner system was plugged. Please call the maintenance line. If you have any issues, they can take care of it promptly.
The lovely Catbird Cabin…where do I begin…so incredibly secluded and beautiful! It is everything you would think and want a luxury cabin in the woods to be! This trip only consisted of my husband and myself and our 2 pups, however it very comfortably, would sleep 12. We didn’t even go into 3 of the 4 bedrooms, but glanced in them, and were incredibly impressed. We plan to come back with my in laws and their families. Our pups loved exploring the woods surrounding. Something to note; the land around is steep. As is the driveway. Be aware. Not much flat land to be had if that’s at all a concern. Hot tub was nice. Very clean and tidy. Updated flooring and furniture as well which was a nice surprise! It’s around a 20-30 minute drive to the majority of “bigger hiking attractions”. The charcoal grill is a little smaller and not covered FYI as the weather stopped us from being able to utilize it. Kitchen was well equipped. We would absolutely love to come back!

Not Clean
We have stayed at lots of properties in the Hocking Hills areas and have always had a wonderful experience, this one fell short. It almost appeared that they had not cleaned at all. The floors were so dirty, our feet and socks were black the first day we got there. The fan had inches of dust on it. There were pretzels under the lamp on the side tables. It was very disappointing. Our other problem was with their check out procedures. We always clean up and leave the places in good condition but the ask of this was nothing I've ever had before. They requested that we clean/wipe down the microwave, stove, oven and fridge before we leave as well as clean all the dishes and put them away. Typically the ask is that we start the dishwasher when we leave which we always do but this just seemed a bit over the top especially since the property was not very clean to begin with. Again, we have stayed at a lot of HH properties and really enjoyed them so I don't think we will stay at any of these again.

We really feel this is a pretty harsh review. It is possible there was some dust on a fan that got missed and a pretzel under an end table, but an inch of dust on the ceiling fan is a bit of an exaggeration. A 2 star rating is really terrible and hurts our overall rating. We just don’t deserve such a horrible rating. Our cabins are cleaned after each stay and on the average 2 and 3 x a week. Our check-out instructions are pretty typical compared to other cabin owners as well.
Our stay was perfect. The cabin was clean and well maintained. Plans were easy to arrange and the host answered all questions in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this cabin to others.
