Didn't want to go home!
Le Coucou Gite was absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking views and along a very quiet road up from St Girons. We enjoyed everything about it. Very spacious (including the kitchen which looks a little small in the photos but was a good size), well kitted out and comfortable. It can get a little cold but as soon as the wood stoves are going it heats up quickly. A haven for wildlife so ideal for birdwatchers, walkers and those wanting to take day trips to the local towns and villages. We enjoyed every minute.
So happy you enjoyed your stay. I hope to see you again in the future best Tom
Cutest little cottage in the Pyrenees
The Davidsons have renovated this charming little cottage on the Riverenert road . Perched up at about 800m the cottage has a beautiful view down the valley towards St Girons.
The house is charmingly decorated , very well equipped and ideal for a protracted getaway for those wishing to take the gap from city life.
Stunning walks within easy striking distance or just chill with a bottle of bubbles on the deck.
Can't recommend this highly enough.
Stunning views in a wonderful cottage getaway.
We spent a few nights at the beautiful Cuckoo Cottage in early December. Lots of snow on the ground, which added to the beauty of the surroundings. We hiked up to col de la Crouzette to see the peaks of the Pyrenees - panoramic views all around! If you're coming in winter, bring your snow shoes - the hike is worth it! The cottage itself is well-appointed, much larger than we expected, and the owners are super gracious and accommodating - especially helpful for us city dwellers.
We had the most wonderful stay in this delightful, peaceful, well equipped cottage.
The Pyrenees are thoroughly gorgeous in themselves but to be able to stay in a cottage that is so well presented and in such a beautiful location is an absolute bonus.
Tom & Suay have thought about pretty much everything for a stay here and all the facilities are in excellent working order.
Communication from Tom was superb and Ginette, who lives very nearby & helps to look after the place, was a great source of information (if you speak French).
Local information is abundant in the property & if you are into walking or cycling be prepared.......it is the perfect spot.
We loved it!
