Welcome to Roseneath Cottage!

Real Escapes Properties proudly offers Roseneath Cottage, one of the Coast Cottages at St. Simons. Coast Cottage Community is a neo-traditional planned community on St. Simons’ widest stretch of sand. Elegantly appointed beach homes are surrounded by lush natural landscaping and brick-paved lanes. A short stroll from any of the cottages leads to a spectacular Oceanside pavilion and pool facility.

You are provided with two designated parking spaces which are located directly in front of your cottage. There are seven stairs from the walkway up to the first level porch that has two lounging chairs and a side table.

Once you enter the home on the first level directly to your left you will find a living room with an Insignia 23” flat screen television, and queen size sleeper sofa.

Through the living room’s French doorway is a bedroom with a new queen-sized mattress. There is an additional bedroom downstairs that has a set of twin beds, also with new mattresses. There is also an Insignia 23” flat screen TV.

The downstairs level has a full bathroom with a tub/shower combination and single vanity, as well as an additional bathroom with a walk-in tile shower.

Up the stairs is your main living level which features an updated kitchen with all new stainless appliances and granite counter tops, the dining room, and the living room area in an open floor plan. The living room has ample seating, a 32" Samsung television with DVD player, and a decorative fireplace. Included in this open area is the dining table which seats up to six people.

Also located on the second level is the master bedroom with a Queen bed, ceiling fan, and a 23" Insignia flat screen television. The master bathroom has a tub/shower combination.

The south pool is heated automatically by the HOA Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, and from March 15 to April 15 for spring break.

CHECK IN: 4:00 pm CHECK OUT: 10:00 am

• Group gatherings and events at this property are limited to the number of occupants (9 persons).
• No pets are allowed in this unit.
• Parking is limited to 2 vehicles only.

Minimum Age to Rent is 25 years old - this applies to all guests with the exception of multi-generational families.

• Linens (bath towels and bed sheets) are provided along with a Starter Supply of Toilet Paper, Soap, Paper Towels and Trash Bag. Any additional supplies needed during tenancy will be the responsibility of the guest.

Fun last beach trip before school

My teenagers loved the access to the beach, pool and shops. We rented a golf cart which made getting everywhere we wanted in the surrounding area fun and easy.

Needs to probably have some wiring work done. One bathroom needs tile work and also in that one the water had trouble draining. One of the twin beds had a urine smell.

Moved dates due to debby

Due to the tropical storm we asked to move the stay (the night before we were suppose to leave) to 3 days later. This was no problem and took only 15 minutes to organize. Super friendly! We have been going here for the last 3 years, its always great!

Nice Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice cottage at a great location but seems a little overpriced and needs some updates. Would be tight for 6 adults. Dryer has issues - clothes kept getting twisted around a metal piece and some were damaged. It also had a hideous squeak at random times. Some small additions would be helpful - a second bedside lamp in primary BR, ceiling fans in downstairs bedrooms, or at least some box fans, towel rings in bathrooms. Most of these were minor issues and did not prevent us from enjoying our stay; however, I don't think we would choose to stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented the house for 4 nights for a family trip for 5 people. It was very comfortable and nice that there are 3 showers available. It is a simple walk to the beach with a walk thru the pool area about half way there. There are restrooms at the pool for guests, so if you need that during your trip to the beach, you don't have to walk the whole way back to the house. It rained 2 of the days while we were there and the house was comfortable for all 5 of us to have our own spaces in the house if we wanted. Some chose to sit on the porch and watch the rain which was very nice. We had a wonderful stay and the house is in a nice area if you want to walk around the neighborhood for exercise. (I would recommend the manager have the area around the dryer vacuumed since the beach towels provided in the house produce a lot of lint.)

Hate to give a poor review

Check in was unacceptable process. House had many problems that effected our stay. Downstairs bedroom door would not close joining kids room. Maid left her drink on counter and rugs in washing machine. Rugs and furniture dated. Etc. location is great.

Disappointing for such a beautiful community

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I want to make clear we have been very happy with Real Escapes for all of our vacation rentals in the past and continue to be very happy with them. We ended up staying at this property because we were accidentally double booked at the property we wanted and were told we would not be able to stay there. This particular property is incredibly disappointing. We have stayed in numerous cottages within the Coast Cottage community for the past 15-16 years and this particular cottage simply doesn't meet the standard for these homes. Part of the reason for this harsh review is because when I looked through past reviews going back 2 years some of the same observations are mentioned--so nothing is done based on reviews. 1) The TVs are tiny. The TV in the living room sits on the kitchen counter and cannot be seen unless you are sitting on that side of the living room.2) Something was spilled on the porch and splashed up against the house and the horribly simple makeshift table and was never cleaned up.3) One of the globes is broken in the master bath--mentioned over 2 years ago and never fixed. The commode is chipped and the bathroom rug is worn and stained.4) The master bed is tiny and the room is not furnished well. Mismatched and cheap looking furniture. We had to put a suitcase on the floor in the closet because there is zero room in that bedroom. It screams college dorm rather than upscale property. 5) Odd bathroom arrangement downstairs with a room with commode and sink and the next door down the hall being a shower--makes zero sense. 6) I guess the previous guests put shrimp shells in the garbage disposal and it smelled horrible the entire week.Coast Cottages are magnificent properties and well worth the money but this property was nowhere near worth almost $4000/week.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family has been coming to Saint Simons for over seven (7) year and has stayed on the same street. This was our first time renting. The experience renting from Real Escapes Properties was wonderful. The process online was very easy and checking in and out went great. I would overall recommend to our family. We do have a few recommendations for the home owner to help improve the house. Here are the few things about the home: adding a fan on the second floor outdoors, fixing the broken light in the bathroom on the second floor, and looking at adding a King size bed in one of the rooms (this would benefit with taller individuals). We did notice that the bathroom upstairs was not the cleanest and could use some upgrades. However, looking past the few recommendations we have for the house, the house was a great rental and provided our family a great week of vacation. We are excited to come back in the future and see the final boardwalk completed and enjoy the area. It is always nice to experience, the people are wonderful and we enjoy our time at SSI. So thank you for all you do to make it happen and for the house owner to rent the house out.

The balcony is great and then kitchen is better than the photos. Location is awesome and pool area is great! We look forward to visiting again!

One being the mosquito issue walking from the boardwalk to the beach. I have never experienced such in my life. We were eaten up everyday. There are swarms and swarms. Which obviously has nothing to do with the actual cottage but hopefully someone can take care of the issue ! One other issue was the cleanliness of our cottage. Upon arrival, when washing my hands in the restroom, I found that the mirror had toothpaste splats from the previous stay. It was nasty! The upstairs bathroom mirror also had splats all over the mirror. That is such an easy clean up for the cleaners! It just wasn’t done. There was also hair in the bathtub :( .

Couldn't have been any better

First trip to St. Simons, and we will be back! This house was perfect. Great layout with cute decor. The upstairs deck with the lights around the top was a great place to hang out once the kiddos had gone to bed. Being able to walk to the pool or beach was a huge plus since we had 3 kids with us. Also being 5 minute drive from pretty much everything made getting out and keeping the kids occupied very easy.

We absolutely loved Roseneath Cottage. It’s quaint and cozy and had plenty of space for our family. The porch is awesome!! My only recommendation would be to add more furniture to the porch because it’s so nice sitting up there. A small couch or loveseat and a couple more chairs would be a really fantastic addition. Can’t wait to come back next year! Also, and this has nothing to do with the house, but some more places to sit and even some umbrellas/tables would be a welcomed addition to the community pool area.

The pool is a nice option and we were always able to find a spot on the beach. The street is quiet and people were friendly. The house and furniture need updating! The couch on the first floor had stains that were so bad no one would hang out there. The bathrooms are dated. The glass shade over the light in the bathroom was broken- a $4 fix. The Kitchen is in rough shape--cracked counter top, dated oven/stove top, inefficient fridge, limited countertop space, cluttered. All the tv's were too small for a group to sit and watch together. The rugs need cleaning. Our bathroom rug was dirty when we arrived. We did enjoy our stay. We loved the upper balcony. The place has vast potential. It just needs some thoughtful updating.

There was room for parents, kids, and grandparents. The porches were perfect for catching up, goofing off, and even dining. Amenities were plentiful, bedding was as expected, and the management was great. The walk to the beach was long for our older parents, but the path was well maintained so it was easy to walk through the sand. The pools were great.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cottage is a really good size for two couples. Loved the upper deck for cocktails, people watching, and chilling. Loved being on the beach with a beautiful pool area. We really enjoyed our stay - despite the obvious need for updating and deep cleaning.Look, the house needs work. Kitchen counters are cracked and the sink is chipped. Lovely wooden floor on main level has been badly scratched up (why is there no felt under all chair legs?). The stairs and banister were dirty, with flotsam all over. The queen bed downstairs smelled like mildew, although linens seemed clean. Bathrooms are dated but everything worked. Shower curtains clean and plenty of towels. Lots of pillows too. All the furniture is worn - typical for so many rentals. The twin bed mattresses creak loudly and the fan in that room is a disaster, wobbling and banging. I realize you cannot expect perfection, but some updating would go a long way. Side note: we called the house Casa de las Puertas, in that there are so many doors!Overall, we had a good time at this house. Beach location and facilities are really great. If a bit cleaner and updated we would definitely stay again.

Great location and house!

Enjoyed staying at this property! Loved the living room upstairs as it had plenty room. Super close to the beach! We needed more parking passes and the management was quick to help get us other passes. Overall great experience!
