About this property
Dog Friendly 10 Acre Retreat Fly Fishing and Pond
10-Acre Dog-Friendly Creekside Cabin | Fishing, Hot Tub & Privacy Near Blue Ridge ***** Part of The Kristy Collection *****
Welcome to Blue Bird, a place designed to help you slow down and reconnect — with nature, with your family, and with yourself.
Set on 10 mostly flat, walkable acres with approximately 1,200 feet of Hemptown Creek frontage and a private pond, this peaceful mountain cabin feels wonderfully removed from the rush of everyday life — yet it’s less than 13 minutes from Downtown Blue Ridge. You get the best of both worlds: privacy, space, and quiet, with dining, shopping, and attractions just a short drive away. Here, mornings begin with coffee on the screened porch, listening to the creek and watching the woods come to life. Summer evenings glow with fireflies, days are spent skipping stones on the pond, fishing along the creek, or reading a book in a hammock under the trees. As the sun sets, gather around the fire pit for s’mores, soak in the hot tub under the stars, and enjoy nights that feel unrushed and easy.
Blue Bird is about simple pleasures and meaningful moments — the kind that don’t need much more than fresh air, good company, and time together.

We absolutely loved this property, and our pups had the best time exploring! Having a few acres mowed was such a thoughtful touch and made the outdoor space even more enjoyable. This is easily one of the most beautiful places we’ve rented near Blue Ridge. The easily accessible creek in the back was truly the icing on the cake. We would happily stay here again!
Perfect spot for pups. They had dog beds and bowls for your furry family members. Location was perfect it was a quick drive to downtown Blue Ridge. Everything is as advertised.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that you and your pups had such a great stay. It sounds like they made the most of the creek and open space, which is exactly what we hope our four-legged guests will enjoy!
We're also glad you were able to relax on the screened porch, enjoy the firepit, and make use of the grill. We work hard to keep the property well maintained, so it's always rewarding to hear those details are appreciated.

Super clean. Very quiet and restful place. While off the beaten path, it's a quick drive to Blue Ridge etc. Lovely setting for the hot tub for cool evening soaks.
The property was so private and nice for spreading out and relaxing with our family. It was very dog friendly and we had a wonderful time. We would highly recommend this location to anyone.

I can't say enough good things about this place. It was extremely clean. Family loved fishing in the river and pond. Best space for fur babies I have found. We will definitely stay here again.
Thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. Cabin was clean and well stocked. Close to shopping, dining and sightseeing. My favorite part was coffee on the front porch every morning with the birds and deer.
