Why Susan Mellows chose Cape Peninsula
We built this home as we fell in love with the village of Scarborough and bought the piece of land several years ago. We used to drive to Scarborough over the weekend and have picnics on the beach, often watching the sunsets. It is a restful place which restores the soul. Because Scarborough is surrounded by the Cape Point Nature Reserve, it cannot be developed and so it is un commercialised.
What makes this house unique
A visitor will enjoy the easy access to other parts of the city and the many outings close by without spending any time sitting in traffic which can often be frustrating in holiday season in some parts of the city. Guests say that they feel secure in this safe eco-village. The most striking feature of this area of Scarborough is the clear, melodic sound of the ocean which travels upwards to the mountains. It is a very restful sound. The house is in a corner of the village which has virtually no passing vehicles. A visitor will enjoy sitting on the verandah with a cup of tea and gazing out to sea.
