Clean and Cozy
This condo was very clean, cozy, and conveniently located! Worked perfectly for two couples for a weekend stay. Management was very responsive. Highly recommend this property and will stay again if we are ever in the area. They even left bottle of champagne!
The condo is in a nice location and very clean. We liked the fact that a one bedroom unit had two bathrooms. The decor is very cool and we enjoyed our stay. Our only complaint if you call it that is we are sort of tall and the bed and living room furniture sits very low. Making it hard to get up.
This was the perfect place for a student with clinical rotation at the hospital in Traverse City. Very little noise, never heard the neighbors coming or going. Only thing I can say needs an improvement is the size of the fridge, specifically the freezer, just a bit too small. Overall, this place is worth the price and will recommend to others!
While the unit was quite nice and as described...we were EXTREMELY DISSAPPOINTED with the management company...True North Property!
Went to Traverse City for a destination wedding and a relaxing weekend. Drove by the unit a couple hours before check-in and were aghast to find the drives and parking areas in the complex torn up and under construction. The road to our unit was closed and occupied by heavy construction equipment. There were no sidewalks that led to our unit and my wife had foot surgery a couple weeks ago.
We reached out to the True North via text and phone. When we finally connected with a representative from True North, the rep claimed that she sent us a text message notifying us of the ongoing construction...we never received any advance messages from them! Stating we would have chosen a different place to stay had we known about the construction, the rep seemed less than concerned and said we were free to cancel...and stay where??? I insisted on speaking with a manager and ended up in voicemail. The owner sent a text 30 minutes later. He said we could cancel without penalty, offered us "free" early check-in and late departure, plus a 15% discount on a future stay...like that's going to happen! Got to the unit 30 minutes before check-in only to find it was still being prepared...so much for early check-in! The noise and dust from construction ran from 7 to 5 every day.
In short, don't stay at a place managed by True North Property. We won't!!!
We were disappointed with our welcoming and stay. Upon arrival our unit was dirty from the previous renters (dirty used sheets and towels piled on the floor and sand/dirt everywhere). We were told the cleaning crew was unavailable and then moved to a new unit. At that unit the bathroom door was broken which did not allow us access to the bathroom. We were then offered to move again, but would have had to move in the morning. We were nervous what the next condo would have in store since the first two were not acceptable. It was incredibly inconvenient and frustrating to waste our afternoon and evening moving our items, spending time on the phone and then ultimately having to go to the store to buy our own bedding and cleaning supplies to be able to stay at our original rental. Not only did we have to spend more on items that should have been completed as apart of our rental agreement, we lost half a day of our first day of vacation. We were told weâd be compensated, but since our stay management has been silent.
Overall the condo was ok. The kitchen is a hot mess of items just thrown in cabinets and the mini fridge wouldnât get cold enough to keep our groceries fresh so we lost milk, yogurt and lunch meats. Another loss of funds for us. The smoke detectors were not installed and thrown in a closet. The toilet in the bedroom bathroom was loose, the counter chair was literally about to lose a leg and the cabinet above the stove was hanging by a screw.
We can tell you from our all season weekend experience, the sunsets from this property's beach look as good in a winter coat/stocking as they do in shorts and a t-shirt. The place was great, plenty of space for the two of us with two bathrooms and good flow of the apartment. The serenity from the balcony was a perfect balance to the caffeine from a morning java brewed steps away from your bed. Even a late night arrival was no match for the two burner stove which was more than adequate for a late night dinner when everything else was closed other than the grocery store. You won't be disappointed with this place, no matter what the season!
Great location, close to downtown Traverse City and both winery peninsulas. Love the patio and short walk to the water. Bonus for those who love reading- a wide selection of books await your trip. We were very happy with the accommodations for our weekend getaway excursion. I would recommend to anyone who is thinking about a trip to this area as the location is wonderful for access to just about everything and away from the tourist-y spots so at the end of the night you can relax and enjoy the view!
Iâd like to start by saying the place was clean and nicely updated. But that is where the positive feedback ends.
We checked in on a Wednesday and stayed for 18 days. Here is a list of all the experiences we encountered:
- there is NO sleeper sofa, although the description says there is a queen sleeper sofa- a total lie in the description. They ended up dropping off a blow up air mattress for us to use.
- shower curtain liner did not fit - water would go all over the floor if I didnât call and ask for a functioning liner
-No washer/dryer (lied in the property description) - just a piece of garbage combo washer/ dryer unit that does both and it locked my clothes in it twice forcing me to have to go out and buy clothes that were needed for an event. Cost me a lot of money that I did not have to spend. Then it broke completely so I could not wash anything at all. They finally sent someone to break into it and get my clothes out but then never got back to me with a solution on what I could do get my clothes cleaned although they told me would. So utterly disappointing and unprofessional
-damage - chipped counter, stained rug, damaged walls, peeling wallpaper in the bathroom.
-no functioning coffee pot. No filter basket so it basically makes brown water. Actually the entire âkitchenetteâ was a hot mess with a bunch of appliances and misc kitchen items thrown in a couple Of cabinets.
- tv broke - just suddenly lost the picture and the sound. And although they promised someone would come fix it, no one ever did.
-the throw blankets were disgusting - stained with chunky stuff - so gross
- the keypad to get in the front door does not always work - often took a number of tries to get it open
On top of all these concerns management was basically non existent. I called and messaged them repeatedly with little to no response. Or they would message me with some random computer sounding form letter. No one ever called me on the phone. It was bizarre. It felt like that management company was just a Computer in a back office. Once I checked out they finally sent sent me a message and offered a very small compensation for my troubles. But not nearly what they should have given me. It was the worst experience I have ever had with a rental and would never recommend this condo or the management company who represents them.
We were in the Traverse City area for work and pleasure. The 1st floor condo with lake view was perfect. We loved the easy drive up and the grounds for the complex are beautiful. The location is easy to get to restaurants in Traverse City and other sites. We had a wonderful time driving to Sleeping Bear and several coastal towns. The condo is very well furnished with a very comfortable bed, plenty of linens and bath products, and the complimentary bottle of wine was delightful and reminded us to visit the amazing Mission Pennisula wineries!
Upon arriving I tried the code several times and learned it didn't work as the lock had "just been changed". After calling I was given the new code to gain entry. There was a bathroom window open and one of the toilets was loose from the floor.
We loved the condo! It was clean, spacious and cozy. It felt like a home away from home with an amazing location- not only with the lake view but itâs location in relation to nearby areas to visit. The host was communicative throughout and check-in and check-out were smooth. We would definitely stay here again!
We really enjoyed our stay. Itâs located just outside Traverse City, so it was nice and quiet. The condo was clean and well appointed. It was easy to travel to Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsulas. As well as a beautiful trip through Charlevoix, Petoskey, and the tunnel of trees. We would definitely stay again.
We enjoyed our stay at this property. Centrally located for our needs. Nice view of the bay. Very clean. Easy in and out. Good quality furniture and all the amenities we needed in the kitchen and baths. Kitchen is a kitchenette with a 2 burner electric cooktop and mini-fridge, but that worked fine for a 5 night stay. 2 full bathrooms were a big plus. Overall very good.
The management of this condo really goes out of their way to make sure you are well taken care of. Super clean, emails from management every day, and even two complimentary wine tastings to one of the wineries on Old Mission Peninsula!! Would definitely stay here again.
