About this property
Seabreeze Cove “Boat house” Waterfront Apartment
This warm and cozy waterfront apartment nicknamed “the boat house”, offers one bedroom and one bath and is located on Spruce Head Island, Maine. It is on a quiet street, and is the perfect place for a romantic couple’s get-away. This spot is ideal for enjoying both island life, and all that MidCoast Maine has to offer. The space has an open concept living, dining, kitchen area that is filled with light. The living room couch opens up to be a Queen-sized sleeper sofa to sleep two more people! Its large deck spans the full width of the apartment, and offers a barbecue grill and outdoor seating. The kitchen has a table that seats 3 for enjoying lobster suppers and playing a fun board game. Best of all, there is a wonderful back yard boasting evergreen trees, granite boulders, and of course, ocean views and sea air.
Just imagine waking up to the sound of the water lapping on the shore and the sea gulls calling. You can peek through the trees and catch a glimpse of the ocean, which surely will call to you! Bring your morning coffee and favorite book down to the cozy back yard and spend your morning relaxing in the Adirondack chairs. Watch for osprey, bald eagles, and puffin as you delight in the ocean view and sea air. Evenings are meant for sipping cocktails, and a lobster supper while you enjoy the cool ocean breezes and a magnificent sunset.
We doubt you would ever want to leave this slice of heaven, but if you would like to stretch your legs a little, Rockland and Port Clyde are both a short car ride away and feature many wonderful restaurants and shops, some great museums, and of course, Maine’s famous lighthouses. There are art galleries, golf courses, hiking trails, many islands to explore, and a myriad of boat rides from schooners, to a working lobster boat.
MidCoast Maine has something for everyone to enjoy, and the minute you step through the door you will feel right at home at the Seabreeze Cove “Boat house” apartment. You’ll never want to leave!
Please note that the “boat house” is located on the second floor and has an outdoor staircase for access. Although the "boat house" is a waterfront property, there is no direct water access and no access to the neighboring docks.
Special note to our guests: our sister property, Seabreeze Cove cottage is located next door. There is lots of privacy for all, but combining both properties would provide sleeping for 8-10 people. Please see VRBO listing 1246498 for details.

Only upside surprises at this property. Very clean and well furnished with necessities. Hubby who is 6 feet and 190, had a slight issue with the small shower and the outdoor chairs by water needed cleaning. Overall, most enjoyable stay. We hope to return sometime this year.

This special location, on the ocean but in the shade of some large evergreen trees, definitely presents a challenge when trying to keep outdoor furniture clean, but our housekeepers do their best to keep up with Mother Nature. I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed the "boat house" and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Perfect spot for a couple for a week. Evening sunset lovely. Lovely deck for relaxing reading time. Great walking neighborhood nearby, easy access (about same distance) to all points of interest on St. George peninsula. Nothing frilly but all that was needed in amenities. note this is on the water but you can’t see the water from the apartment, you have to walk down to it to see it because view is blocked by trees (forces you to go go get that fresh air :-).

I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed the "boat house" and your time on Spruce Head Island! This sweet place has everything you could need including some outdoor space, and depending on the season there is a "peek" of the ocean from the bedroom window. But there is always the smell of salt water, and the ocean breeze to remind you that it's right at your fingertips! Please come back and see us again soon!
Quiet, clean, comfy apartment overlooking a gorgeous cove and under billions of stars at night
We had a wonderful time in this charming apartment. With nautical-themed decor and a very comfortable bed, the apartment is located on a peninsula with a few other houses surrounded by trees and a meandering driveway. It's very quiet there. The best part is the tidal cove, which is visible from the cozy porch on the back of the apartment and - even better - from the Adirondack chairs in the shady backyard. We spend some time on the dock just below, unsure if it was part of the VRBO but loving the views of the changing tides and fishing birds during the day and the unbelievably clear night sky. Not only was the Milky Way clearly visible, but I saw a couple shooting stars and a satellite. The kitchen was comfortable and had everything we needed. The TV and bathroom are small but practical - the bathroom door is louvered, so sound passes easily through it. There is a yummy lobster shack just down the road with a beautiful view of the water. We found it easy to get to Rockland, Camden and places north. We would gladly stay here again and recommended is highly for its great location, cleanliness, functionality (there's access to a washer-drier in the garage below), and comfort. Be sure to enter through the back porch when you arrive. The stairs are very well lit by solar motion-sensing lights, but we spent some time on the spacious front porch trying to access the key. Once we went to the back porch, it was easy to get the key and enter.

I'm so glad you had a wonderful time at the "boat house"! The Adirondack chairs in the back yard are the perfect place to enjoy the view and the cool ocean breezes! Unfortunately, the dock does belong to the next door neighbor, so it is not part of the property. There is so much to see and do in the area...Camden and Rockland are definitely favorites, but next time you visit, be sure to head just a few miles down the road to Port Clyde and enjoy one of my favorite fishing villages! You can also get the ferry from there out to Monhegan Island, which is a lovely place to check out some art galleries, have lunch at the cafe, and see some of the natural beauty of the island. Please come back and see us again soon!
Let's start with the ending: We had a VERY NICE time here and would DEFINITELY stay here again. :-)
The area is rural and GREEN. A town is 8 miles away. :-)
This 3-story building has a basement accessible only from the back/water side. You park at ground level but stay in the part above the boat area, which is like a garage (with lots of windows so you can see what's inside).
You go up stairs with about 15 steps. I mention this because some people said the steps were tough. They are a little steep, so don't try to carry 2 suitcases with you up the stairs!
There is a nice size deck on the side where you park. I sat out here some, especially at night. The stars are impressive! The moon was, too.
There is a small deck area on the water side, and I sat more on that side. Though it is the water side of the place, you are not on the water. There are evergreen trees blocking most of your view but you can see the water. I sat out here A LOT and just listened to the birds and the bell from a buoy in the water (I think).
On one night the moon was shining bright, and the whole "bay" lit up. I got some really impressive photos!
There were 2 of us on this trip. The bedroom is a nice size, and the bed is more than comfortable. The kitchen is just right and has all the pots and pans and bowls you'd ever need. (Careful: the plates do not appear to be microwavable, which I learned by read the small message on the back of the plates.) We prepared several meals here while on this trip.
The TV has lots of channels for you, so that's all good.
The bathroom is small but adequate. The shower area is small, but as someone who has had several older homes redone over the years, I think the owner has been very creative in how this shower space is set up.
Things I would recommend: 1. The TV needs better instructions. There are multiple buttons on at least 2 remote controls, and knowing what does what took us a while to figure out. 2. The microwave cooks fast! In fact, I burned popcorn twice before I finally got it right the third time. (The exhaust fan didn't work for us. I flipped every switch I saw but couldn't get it on. Is there a secret I missed?)
I say these things just so you'll know. The owner was VERY attentive during our stay via email, and I had a number I could have called, too. (Don't worry... no, the owner did not come visit us or bother us, which is always a concern of mine).
In sum, we would definitely rent here again.
We booked this along with the main house for a family gathering for the week. It was perfect for one extra person or a couple. It is above a garage with steps leading up to the doors both back and front. Fine for a short stay or like we did with occupying the main house as well. We all enjoyed our stay at Spruce Head!
It was so quiet and peaceful! Prefect for a getaway with my hubby!

I'm so glad to hear you had a wonderful vacation! Spruce Head Island is one of my favorite places, and the "boat house" is a lovely, private spot to enjoy together. There is great stargazing from the deck, you can hear the sounds of the lobster boats and peek at the ocean through the trees. And this is a great central location to enjoy everything that midcoast Maine has to offer...wonderful restaurants, shops, hiking trails, and lighthouses! Please come back and see us again soon!
Deck is great for star-gazing!
Excellent lobster places nearby.

Thanks so much for your lovely review! I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed your time at the "boat house" and on Spruce Head! It's such a wonderful place to see Mother Nature in all her glory! Please come back again soon!
Very cute Maine decorated apartment. If you can limb steps this place is ideal. We stayed a week and my only complaint is that 2 bath towels, one hand towel and a few washcloths and no beach towels were not sufficient.

Thanks so much for your review! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed this wonderful "boat house" apartment and hope you were able to spend some time exploring the area. Spruce Head Island is such a lovely place with spectacular views everywhere you look, and of course McLoons lobster shack is a local favorite. Each guest is provided with the basic set of towels, as is outlined in the rental agreement, but we would have been happy to accommodate extras, if you had mentioned it to us.
The area was nice & quiet. The home was perfect for two people. We bought food & cooked a couple of meals. Everything was clean & well equipped. Thank you!
Excellent cottage. Well equipped and had everything we needed.
Quiet location yet relatively close to everything.

Thanks so much for your review! I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed the "boat house" and your stay here in midcoast Maine...it's a very special place and there is something for everyone to enjoy. You can read a good book while enjoying the views and sea air, you can take a ride on a schooner, explore an island or two, enjoy some of our fabulous shops and restaurants, or just take a nap under the tall pine trees! Please come back and see us again soon!
This was the perfect place for a quick getaway for my wife and me while the kids were at camp! Well-located, and nice inside. My only suggestion would be a slightly larger bed, though that is minor. Overall, a terrific place! We will return.

Thanks for letting us know how much you enjoyed the "boat house"! Attention has been paid to every little detail, from the luxurious sheets and comfy bed, to the lovely dishware. The location is also fabulous for exploring Rockland and Camden, as well as Port Clyde, and even Monhegan Island. Come back and see us again soon!
This quaint little boathouse is just how it’s listed. Great for my husband and I for a long weekend. Property manager told us to eat at McLoon’s Lobstah Shack. It was amazing, as are the views at dusk! We could do day trips to just about anywhere. We ate at Keag Store for breakfast one day, we ate at North Beacon Oyster in downtown Rockland, The Travelin’ Lobster in Bar Harbor. We visited 4 lighthouses, Owls Head Transportation Museum, and Lie-Nielsen Tool Company. This property was a great location to see so many places! Highly recommend.

Beautiful & Peaceful Property!
Loved the Seabreeze boathouse! The location is peaceful, the nice decor and having all the kitchen things made it a very comfortable stay. It's close to several lighthouses, other quaint towns, and the views of the ocean and trees were simply great. It’s perfect for two people although we found out the sofa is a sleeper when we had friends over for a night. We stayed over the winter holidays, and definitely want to come back over summer to really take advantage of the water and outdoors. Would recommend!

Well located. Quiet and Peaceful.
We stayed at the “boathouse” apartment for a week this winter (March) and it was wonderful. Very private, cozy, quiet and well/fun decorated. It’s a full sized one bedroom apartment, not huge, but perfect for the two of us. The bathroom is kind of small but fine. There is a nice bbq on a pretty large balcony with outdoor seating and water views.. We could literally see, hear and smell the ocean which was probably about 100 feet away. The inside was bright, the furniture looked brand new and the location was excellent near several towns but felt secluded. Just an FYI there is only stair access up two flights so be prepared. For me it was a great little bit of exercise and I don’t mind stairs. We easily drove to Rockland, Rockport, Camden and Tenants Harbor and even made our way over to Bar Harbor one day. I’d love to stay there again.
