Beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is very well-maintained, clean, with amazing views and convenient location. The house has so many windows, it's really bright and airy, feels like home. Jacuzzi is new, very clean and has an amazing location, overlooking the lake. I miss it already :)

There are many stairs to get to the house and village is not walking distance (the hill down is very steep and its not THAT close to the village). We had a wonderful time at this property though. Thank you, will definitely consider staying here again.

Picture perfect

  • 5 of 5

Lovely. Clean. Very comfortable. Great location. Close to village, although a steep climb to walk. View is beautiful. Quiet neighborhood, except for our final night when neighbors across the street arrived. They regularly used megaphone or exterior intercom system -- very loud and annoying. Thankfuly, we were leaving the next day.

A great location, but be wary of hot weather and noise neighbors

  • 4 of 5

The location was great and the yard area with the firepit and chairs with the treehouse was terrific. The hot tub was also a hit with the whole family. We had a a bit of a snafu that there were no bath towels upon arrival, but Meg quickly rectified. A note to those staying during hotter weather-- there is no a/c. It got pretty toasty during the day. While it cooled off at night with the windows open, there were partiers staying in a nearby house, who kept us up the majority of the first night. On the second, we threatened to call the cops and they finally quieted down. Because we couldn't close the windows without it getting super hot, we had to deal with the neighbor noise. Overall, a nice value for the location and amenities.

Nice family getaway

  • 4 of 5

Overall was a good few days in Big Bear. Upon arrival the place had not been cleaned yet, called Meg and found out it was an honest mix up by the cleaning woman who arrived within an hour or so. I think the cleaning could be a little more thorough and there are definitely some things that need to be updated and/or replaced in the unit. The fridge wouldn't get cold enough, the kitchen table chairs were broken and the snacks left for us were expired. We go to Big Bear often and for the rate I guess I expected a little bit more. Beds and linens were fine, towels were rough but thankfully we'd brought some of our own. We had our toddler with us and there was a highchair and pack and play which was handy. A safety gate on the deck stairs would be a nice addition for families with little ones. The view of the lake from the deck is nice and we were able to enjoy the hot tub a bit too. Location is super close to town and walkable which is nice, as another reviewer noted it's a little steep coming back. I think this rental is best suited for couples or families with slightly older children. Meg was easy to contact and she kindly refunded our cleaning deposit due to the mix up.

Owner's Response: Darcy is correct. The house was not up to my standards. I was embarrassed when I went up a saw for myself. Her cleaning fee was refunded. I am a very present owner but this year has been extremely busy and I have not been able to assess the cabin since it's been full most weekends. As I mentioned to Darcy, I do a deep clean twice a year in the off seasons when it's not so busy. This week it was deep cleaned, carpets and upholstery cleaned. A new table was put in last week since the other was broken by a guest. The fridge is fine. I've never had a complaint. The towels are nice from Costco so I'm not sure about that comment. I leave a complimentary gift basket. It is voluntary if you want to partake. Old snacks have been thrown out. As you can see, most guests are truly happy with the cabin. It's beautiful. I hope Darcy will give it another try.

It was "Dynamite" :)

Close to Village. Steep hill though for walking going home from the Village. But doable. When we were tired, we would drive the car to the bottom of Cameron Drive which is where the Public Parking is and park it there and drive back up when done :) Quiet neighborhood with some view of the lake. Owner was easy to communicate with. Thank you for letting us stay!!
