Diamonds by the Sea is situated on one of the most beautiful white sandy beaches in Freeport. The crystal clear waters are several shades of aqua and turquoise. Days can be spent just relaxing and enjoying the peaceful serenity at Diamonds; And after a day on the beach, where on many occasions you can watch Dolphins swimming not far from the shoreline, a great BBQ on your deck, and a Hammock is just what is needed to wrap up a lovely day in Paradise. A short walk on the beach from us, are several beach bars and restaurants and also available are water sports activities, kayaking, sailing etc. We take pride in being one of the rare vacation cottages with privacy and yet less than 5 miles is Port Lucaya with its activities, Casino, restaurants, bars and shopping. We are also proud of the fact that Diamonds is where Keira Knightley chose to live and enjoy for several months while filming Pirates of the Caribbean II in Grand Bahama.

Great visit!

Great visit to Freeport with nice accommodations. We had a large group and were comfortable in our cottage. Clean, well appointed and close to the beach.

Amazing beach front place to call home for a week!

This was a great home base-right on the ocean and with all the necessities. Just what we needed for traveling with a 13 month old! Restaurants and groceries were close by. Gladys was an amazing host and helped out with any questions we had! Very glad we found this place for our vacation!!

My happy place!!!!

I enjoyed my time so much at Diamond by the Sea! Walked the beautiful beach twice a day. Played a little crib on the airy deck. Visited the Sand Bar for lunch or a cool drink every second day, so conveniently close to Diamond cottages. Gladys, the proprietor, could not done enough to make our stay incredible. Really was a trip of a life time. Three weeks jus wasn’t enough! Booking for next year! Weeeee!

Wonderful, relaxing, just as pictured

We had a wonderful week stay around Thanksgiving at the Key Lime cottage. Everything was just as described. Gladys was very responsive and accommodating. She made good recommendations about local restaurants and activities. She was also very generous at extending our stay by a few hours so that we could do a late checkout before our flight in the afternoon. Much appreciated. There was a designated point person on the property so we could always ask questions etc if we needed a quick response. The beach was almost private with barely anyone else nearby. The proximity, location, was absolutely wonderful--we would love to come back!

Wonderful cottage to get away from it all!

My family and I stayed in the Key Lime cottage in Freeport for 10 nights. We had a wonderful experience! Gladys was so friendly and accommodating. She answered any questions we had before we got there and during our stay, she gave us some great suggestions on places to eat, things to see... she was the perfect host! And the cottage is in the perfect location. It's down the beach from most of the resorts so it's a little more quiet and secluded than if we would've stayed at a bigger hotel. It's right on the beach so we were able to go back and forth between the sun and shade very easily! When we were on the beach, we pretty much had it to ourselves... and what a beautiful beach it is! It looks exactly like the pictures you see on the website... absolutely gorgeous! And there are some great local restaurants within walking distance of the cottage so if we didn't want to worry about transportation, we had several options available for meals... and these restaurants have great food! Overall, our experience on the island was great... by far one of the best vacations we've ever had! The Key Lime cottage at Diamonds by the Sea was perfect for our family... very clean, away from the crowds and just the right size for the 5 of us! If you ever go to Freeport, you should definitely consider staying with Gladys. :)

Exceeded expectations

Our vacation was great. Entertaining, adventurous but relaxing. We were steps from the beach with no one around for a few hundred yards. Gladys was awesome! Telling us great places to eat and where to go, she even let us borrow her car to get around the island one day to do some shopping and site seeing. Overall the residents on the island were friendly and very informative. We went to the local Junkanoo festival which was an experience you can’t get anywhere else. From live music and dancing to fried conch fritters. Another day we went kayaking through the mangroves and explored bens cave along with a lucayian sacred burial cave. The island was the perfect getaway and not to far from the US!

A little piece of PARADISE!

The property is stupendous, the location is outstanding...this is our 4th stay and I've already booked my trip for next year. Everything is just as described. You have a secure, secluded location with great accommodations: a/c, internet, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and all utensils and amenities you could need/want. The very best thing is the deck area where you can hang out, grill, lay on the couch and read, nap in the hammock or just catch some rays. The place is kept immaculate and is truly my home away from home~

Great time!

Our group loved Key Lime. The cottage was exactly as described, and it was SO nice to be just a short sandy-path walk to the beach. Gladys was so sweet and helpful not only through our booking process, but even after we arrived. She even stopped at the house after we arrived to make sure all was ok. We had a great time.

Beautiful house

We really enjoyed staying here for two weeks. We were six people (two toddlers). The porch is really nice and we spent a lot of time here during the day and eating out in the evening. It's a very short walk down to the beach, and it feels very quiet and private. We recommand going to the Sand bar just a short walk on the beach. Thank you!

Great Vacations in Diamondsbythesea

Hemos estado dos semanas en Keylime y la verdad que nos ha gustado absolutamente todo, su distribución, su limpieza, las comodidades, la cercanía a la playa espectacular, la tranquilidad ya que era como si la playa fuera privada. Realmente nos gustaría repetir y no dudaría en volver a este precioso lugar. Muchas gracias han sido unas vacaciones inolvidables

5 nights in paradise....

We had 5 amazingly fabulous nights at keylime cottage, it surpassed expectations and we were in paradise...only a few seconds walk from the beach and a few mins from beach side bars it was so quiet and peaceful, exactly what I had hoped for.. It was so easy to book and Gladys and shirley were so helpful in getting us in a few supplies as we arrived late evening. We shall definitely return it was a fantastic way to celebrate turning 40! Banana bay close by was wonderful for lunch and swimming with the dolphins was magical. Wonderful memories until next time... Leeanne

What a great place to stay.

We stayed in the Keylime cottage while in Grand Bahama and it was great. Very private and cozy feeling. The cottage was very clean with everything you would need. The beach was beautiful and the surrounding property around the cottage was very pretty. Gladys was very friendly and there to help if needed. We had a wonderful time. Very nice and private place to stay. Loved Margaritaville down the beach. Lots of things to do close by.

Key Lime Rental

The house was well-kept, clean, comfortable and in a fabulous location right on the beach. There were two local bar/pubs within walking distance that were fun for a cocktail. Although we had read that there was a place within walking distance we weren't provided with any information on their location and mistakenly went to the hotel bar to the left and proceeded to get kicked out. However, we figured it out. Note to renters: take a right when on the beach to get to pub! We had two elderly individuals in our group of 6 who had to take the downstairs master suite. It was initially intended for my husband and I, but they could not walk up the stairs. The description could be updated a bit to clarify location of rooms. Also, the description stated that outdoors there was a kayak and 2 bicycles available which there wasn't and would have been great. In addition, there is no plunge pool tied to this rental. The weather was surprisingly cold (40's at night) and we needed to use the 2 heaters available (one for upstairs and one for downstairs) to stay warm. On the second night we were told we had to relinquish one of our heaters to the cottage next door because they did not have any and we froze that night! New heaters were purchased for us the next day however. There was not enough dishware (glasses and cups) for all 6 of us to eat together and although it says toilet paper and soap provided; only one roll in each bathroom (not enough for a larger group of renters). We would have thought there would be a spare under the sink but not. We found out the hard way, so plan on buying extra or bringing some. The deck was a great place to hang out and lots of chairs were available. The outside gardens were nice. Although we hadn't planned on renting a car for the whole time, we did and it worked out great. It gave us freedom to go out and get things as needed and see the sites. We enjoyed the nature center, and the caves and dined frequently at port Lucaya. We went to Luciano's for Christmas dinner which was fantastic. The International Bizarre was quite sad and a real disappointment. Definitely not worth the trip there. Overall, a really nice rental unit in a quiet and relaxed setting; great for family and friends. I would certainly recommend it to others. The owner was very professional in handling all aspects of the rental before arrival but unfortunately was not available to provide us with information while there because she was away.

A great time

We stayed for a week (a couple with two kids ages 9 and 6). The cottage was spotless and the sandy beach is beautiful. It's a great place to vacation with kids, very quiet and secluded. Gladys was extremely helpful in answering all of our questions about the island. It was windy for a few days and the water was not clear enough for snorkeling. But once the wind died down, there was good snorkeling right in front of our place (but not many fishes). We loved the boat tour to the coral reef and the Unexso dolphin experience.

a week in paradise

We stayed at the Key Lime cottage in May of 2010 and had just an incredible time! We had never been to the Bahamas before and any expectations we had of staying on a pristine and unspoiled beach, waking to the sound of the surf, swimming and snorkeling in crystal waters, and great hospitality were greatly exceeded! We were with our 2 children and their friends and this was the ideal place to relax and let "island time" become our time. We walked the white sand beaches and snorkeled for the first time. There was a fantastic little bar/restaurant just down the beach from us...incredible tropical drinks and conch!! We went there almost every day for lunch. Don't miss the live music on Sunday night! Also, thanks to a recommendation from a bartender there, we found a wonderful fishing/snorkeling guide. In fact, we spent most of our last day with him on his boat fishing, reef snorkeling, and diving for sand dollars. He even made us a fabulous conch salad from the conch he dove for earlier that morning. It took us a long time after we returned home to stop thinking about what a great time we had there. Gladys is the absolute best hostess...giving us guidance when we asked, but giving us our total privacy...the best of both worlds for the kind of vacation we like. We can't wait to go back! Huge thanks to Gladys!!

A relaxing little paradise...

The listings here are accurate. It's a clean bright cottage just footsteps from the beach. For most of our long weekend we felt like we had a white sand beach all to ourselves. Gladys answered all our questions, helped with some recommendations, and was available but never imposing. The "sand bar" down the beach was a great place to mix with the locals and keep the sand between your toes. If you want to wander, be sure to check out Port Lucaya and also the caves, mangroves, and gorgeous beach at the national park. Thanks for your hospitality Gladys. We hope you stay busy, but not too busy so we can return soon.

Me, my wife, and our dog - Tina, spent our 25th wedding anniversary in this cottage. It was one of the best vacations that we've ever had. The cottage was clean and beautiful, and the beach was private. The owner (Gladys) is delightful and a very nice person. Restaurants and the casino are just a short drive away. We didn't need to rent a car as we had a wonderful taxi driver named Smitty who took us everywhere at reasonable rates - use him when you go to Diamonds - Gladys has the information. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation in a private and safe location, look no further. This is the place you want to go to! Hotels are cold and crowded. Having your own home away from home is the way to go. We will come back here next year and for many years to come. Enjoy your stay as much as we enjoyed ours - I know you will. And Tina loved it also - she recommends it for your pet.

Fantastic time

We stayed at Key Lime and Lilac for a week with our family. We had a wonderful time, loved the property, very clean. Beautiful beach. We walked the beach, swam, cooked on the grill, had pina coladas in the hot tubs. Gladys was very accommodating and bent over backwards for us. We would definitely go back again. Grand Bahama Island is a great choice for a family vacation....go to Diamonds by the Sea, any of Gladys's properties!!!!!!!
