Great place, enjoyed our stay

The place is just as pictured, clean and comfortable! Loved eating meals in the breakfast nook with an amazing view of the mountains! We hiked Grandfather Mountain nearby (30-45 min. Drive) which we highly recommend! You have to visit the local coffee shop (The Fox and the Fig) for a great brunch and wonderful coffee!

We had a fabulous stay! Beautiful views from back covered porch. We saw an awesome moon set and sun set over the mountains. Great location for enjoying sight seeing and hiking along the BRP near here! This house is beautiful!

Best vacation rental I've ever booked. House has phenomenal views from the back porch; it's nicely decorated and well equipped; was exceptionally clean. It's off the beaten path in a quiet area, but conveniently located to grocery stores. I'll probably rent the property again next year.

Amazing Mountain Retreat

We loved this home in the mountains of NC so much I am hesitant to leave this review because it will be completely booked up once the secret is out. This home is perfect for a large family, is extremely well-equipped, has incredible mountain views, and the cost was very reasonable. It’s also minute from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Peaceful with Beautiful Views

Easy access on a paved road. Large home with spacious rooms and large deck . We enjoyed our morning coffee sitting on the deck bird watching. In the evening we watched the sun go down over the mountains on the deck swing, This was our second trip to this property. We are planning to return next year.

This property is beautiful with amazing views. We were all very comfortable in our rooms. The weather did not allow us to sit outside, but we enjoyed the views through the large windows. We stayed in and tried watching March Madness. We had issues with the TV in the main room. Overall a great place to stay!

Wonderful house with wonderful view

What a wonderful location and property! Lila was a pleasure to work with on arrangements and responded quickly to our one issue. The house is fabulous. Beautifully decorated, very comfortable beds - even the murphy bed downstairs, lots of towels. Kitchen was a pleasure to work in - so well equipped with pots, pans, hot pads etc.. AC and water all worked great. Love all the lighting options. Thanks for the local history books too! And you can't beat the back deck with it views of the valley and mountains beyond - gorgeous sunsets! Thoroughly enjoyed meals in Spruce Pine. The mountain biker in our group got a great workout!

Annual Friends get together

The house was perfect, clean and very cozy. The view was fantastic , everything we needed was supplied. The area, Spruce Pines is a very friendly community, many places to visit and eat. My group rides motorcycles, we had a great time highly recommended, roads and trails were made for motorcycles and best of all we had a garage to keep them in. Loved the house ..

Our primary residence is Beaufort, NC. We love the mountains, having lived in Western North Carolina for over 30 years. We travel extensively in the United States in our motorcoach.

Why they chose this property

Having lived in the Western North Carolina mountains most of our adult lives, we feel "at home" when we are here. We moved to Spruce Pine/Little Switzerland in 1997 and fell in love with this remote mountain village. Although we retired to coastal North Carolina, we know home is here on the mountain.

What makes this property unique

Continental Divide Retreat on Apple Mountain is a unique home located on the Eastern Continental Divide, which provides all the benefits of quiet solitude while being readily accessible to everyday needs.

It sits on Apple Mountain with a spectacular Western View of 30+ miles of fading mountain and valleys. Sunsets can range from spectacular on beautiful evenings, to quiet solitude as we sometimes float over the clouds in the mornings or in the clouds that sometimes obscure the mountain, but provide a feeling of being the only place in the world.
