Welcome to an incredible new cabin located just blocks from Terry Peak. Blackstone Canyon is an amazing 3 level cabin that's been accented with burnt wood in a modern rustic setting among the trees on a hillside with a view. It's located in the middle of the northern Black Hills recreational corridor near skiiing and mountain biking at Terry Peak, ATV/snowmobile trails, and some great hiking locations! You're also only minutes from the Mickelson trail with miles of great trails, around 10 minutes to Spearfish Canyon with incredible fishing and waterfalls, and only 15 minutes to Deadwood (with taxi service) where you can gamble to your hearts desire or enjoy some local restaurants and festivities. With just an hour drive, you can also be enjoying the major attractions like Mount Rushmore, Sylvan Lake, Custer State Park, and Keystone! It really is a wonderful location! Whether you're in the Black Hills to enjoy some trail adventures, or just a weekend away to relax, Blackstone Canyon is a perfect place to enjoy your vacation.

Once you enjoyed the incredible Black Hills attractions, coming back to your very own cabin will surely be the best part of your vacation. The cabin's filled with large windows that fill it with natural light. The open kitchen leads right into the living area with a rock fireplace and TV making it perfect to cook and lounge with your guests. The living area also leads into the partially covered deck with panoramic views of the valley below. You'll love watching the local wildlife from there!! The lower level leads out onto the patio with an incredible view from the hot tub. Watching the starry skies from here will be forever engrained in your memory! You'll find a king bed in the master bedroom, another king in the 2nd bedroom, the 3rd bedroom has a queen bed while the 4th and 5th bedrooms both have a queen bed and a bunk bed with full size beds. There's also a sofa sleeper in the loft and lower level living room! We welcome you on your next Black Hills adventure. Your group is sure to love this wonderful property!

4WD/AWD is recommended in the winter months.

Beautiful views

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I absolutely loved the cabin and the beautiful views. We did not do a whole lot locally. We traveled to the area in three vehicles. One vehicle did a lot of sightseeing in western south dakota and into wyoming. One vehicle did most of their sightseeing in the rapid city area and very close to rapid city. I had a brother in the rie.Hospital in hot springs, so I did a lot of traveling back and forth. The cabin was located right in the middle of everything that we had set out to do. The amount of adults that went in on the cost made this super affordable.

Deadwood was close by so groups of our family enjoyed the casinos, mini golf, volleyball courts and golfing. We would recommend this cabin for your next vacation destination.

There needs to be another heat source in the basement because it is very cold down there. The queen beds in the basement need to be replaced because the springs are shot and the beds are uncomfortable. I loved the cabin but there needs to be some maintenance done on it.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our rental had stained and dirty sheets, cupboards filled with dirty utensils and dishes, the dish washer and insinkerator smelled horrid (food was in the bottom of both) and the hot tub had little to no water in it even though a 75$ fee is charged “if water needs to be added to the hot tub after checkout”

Great for large group!

There was plenty of room for everyone. With three levels, we were able to give the kids the entire basement, also giving the adults a break. Beautiful scenery on our way also!

Comfortable and clean

Very clean and spacious cabin! Perfect for a girls trip though more mirrors would have been ideal. Plenty of comfortable beds for all and a very functional kitchen!

Wonderful spot for Terry Peak skiing!

We enjoyed the location- so easy to drive back and forth from Terry Peak lodge for a large family ski trip.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I texted right away when we arrived that the hot tub was not working. I never received a reply...we think there was a leak and therefore would not heat because it would not maintain the required amount of water. The cabin was dirty, stained sheets and blankets, cobwebs and grime. There was no foosball table as the pictures and description indicated. Probably would not use this company again.

We didn't use the hottub, but if you are going to have a rental you can't put all of those stipulations on it. Beds are terrible and the pillows are worse.

My fiancé, I, and our friends stayed 3 nights for our bachelor/bachelorette party. Property manager was great, gave us accurate directions to find the place and answered any questions we had. Only issue we had was running out of hot water when all 3 showers got used at once(not a huge problem). Otherwise, we’d stay there again!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Thank goodness the outside views made up for the interior view. Checked into this house to find dirty bedding and bare-minimum cleaning. Spent the first night of our family vacation doing laundry (had to buy detergent for all that bedding) and didn’t even get a response from management when I sent a message about it. In addition, rooms were missing smoke detectors and the closets were full of other balled-up bedding and junk. To top it off, we found google reviews from other renters noting the exact same issues! We’ve stayed in many other rentals in the hills and NEVER have encountered issues like this one. A response back would have helped immensely—or better yet an apology and discount.

Terrible Experience- Horrible Communication

Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in the Black Hills numerous times and this was our first (and last) time using Black Hills Adventure Lodging.Upon arrival, we found bedding balled up (not folded) in a closet. We contacted the owner, Budi, to see if the bedding was actually clean. She said she confirmed with the cleaners that it was clean, but they ran out of time to fold it. The rest of the cabin was barely cleaned, the main floor was incredibly dusty. The dryer didn't work, and the vent was completely clogged with dust and lint. Most of the rooms had a smoke detector mount, but the smoke detectors were missing/out of batteries. One of our guests left a bag in the basement closet (the same closet that the bedding was balled up in). After numerous attempts (5+ phone calls and texts) to contact the management to see if we could retrieve the bag, we were informed that the cleaners did not find the bag. Which to me means the cleaners did not replace the bedding when they cleaned. The family staying after us did find the bag, and we were informed we could get the bag after they checked out. At this point we took matters into our own hands and decided to visit the house directly to get the bag from those guests, as it contained a work computer. I would not recommend Black Hills Adventure Lodging to anyone.

Nice cabin

Family ski trip-totally enjoyed the stay. Positive: The kitchen is amazing-totally stocked with everything we needed!! Negative: The hot tub was old, cloudy and not very hot.

Beds pretty comfortable-a lot of pillows are very flat and stiff. Wifi slow-made it difficult for a couple people who needed to work a few hours. Floor looks nice but is not sealed: spilled a glass of water in the hallway in front of staircase to downstairs and it leaked through the ceiling into the basement. For a home that “sleeps 20” a bigger hottub would be nice that could accommodate more than 4 people at a time. It’s in the woods and one would expect “visitors” so a few more mouse traps would be helpful. Lastly, it could use a deep clean (baseboard, corners of rooms, wash/change bathroom rugs etc).
