About this property

Edisto Treehouse at the Beach ~ Walkable Cottage ~ Gear ~ Boat Parking

You will be barely a 3 minute walk from the front door to Beach Access 32 and to Whaley's cold drinks and live music, this is the most Edisto evening you will ever have. Leave the car keys on the counter when you arrive. You will not need them.

Edisto Beach Bungalow is a private elevated 3BR 2BA cottage rental on Myrtle Street, Edisto Beach, South Carolina, set behind a canopy of historic live oaks that give this block its particular quiet. The house sits one block from the Atlantic on one of the last genuinely unspoiled barrier islands on the East Coast. No high rises. No chain restaurants. No crowds. Just wide uncrowded shoreline, dolphins working the shallows at low tide, and a pace of life that reminds you what a real beach vacation is supposed to feel like.

Edisto Beach Bungalow offers flexible short stays with 2 and 3 night minimums available year round, making a weekend getaway or mid week trip easy to arrange in any season. Families, couples, anglers, and groups with dogs are all welcome. If you are searching for a top pet friendly Edisto Beach vacation rental with private boat trailer parking and full beach gear provided on site, this cottage is the ideal choice for your coastal South Carolina trip.

Two queen bedrooms anchor the main floor, bright, comfortably appointed, and genuinely restful. A dedicated kids bunk room with twin over twin and a trundle gives younger guests their own territory and their own sense of arrival. Two full bathrooms, one with a walk in shower and one with a tub and shower combo, plus an outdoor hot and cold rinse station that handles sandy feet before anyone crosses the threshold.

The ground level lounge is what guests write home about. Shaded by historic live oaks with string lights overhead, it runs the full footprint of the cottage with bar seating, a double swing, hammocks strung between the trees, cornhole, bocce, and oversized Jenga. On warm evenings with the right company, nobody makes it upstairs until well after dark. Two generous decks rise above, one facing the morning light for coffee and one catching the golden hour for whatever you are pouring when the sky turns pink over the palmettos.

The Weber charcoal grill handles summer cookouts. The included propane burner and large stock pot handle a proper Lowcountry shrimp or crab boil under the oaks. All beach gear is already on site. Cool Cabana shade tent, beach chairs, umbrellas, a hauling wagon for the three minute walk to Access 32, fishing rods, beach towels, and riding toys for younger guests. Pack light. The gear situation is completely handled.

On site boat trailer parking connects you directly to Edisto Marina and the tidal creeks of the ACE Basin. Redfish and trout at first light. Marsh Point Pool, the Wyndham resort's heated covered year round pool, is a short walk away. Charleston is 45 minutes north when the mood strikes. Everything worth doing on Edisto is already within reach.

The Ground Level

The downstairs lounge is what guests write home about. Shaded by live oaks with string lights overhead, it runs the full footprint of the house with bar seating, a double swing, hammocks, cornhole, bocce, and oversized Jenga. On warm nights with the right company, nobody makes it upstairs until well after dark. Beach Gear

Everything is already here. Cool Cabana shade tent, beach chairs, umbrellas, a hauling wagon for the walk to Access 32, fishing rods, beach towels, and riding toys for younger guests. Pack light. The gear situation is handled.

Boaters and Anglers

Edisto Beach Bungalow has generous on site boat trailer parking with straightforward access to Edisto Marina and the tidal creeks that run through the ACE Basin. Redfish and trout at first light. The kind of inshore fishing that makes people rearrange their schedules. This is the property you bring your vessel to.

The Neighborhood

Beach Access 32 is three minutes on foot. Whaley's Restaurant and Bar is three minutes. Bay Creek Park and Edisto Marina are five minutes. Marsh Point Pool, the Wyndham resort's heated covered year round pool, is a short walk from the front door. Charleston is 45 minutes north for a day trip when the mood strikes.

Edisto Beach is not for everyone. There is no boardwalk, no arcade, no chain anything. What it has is wide empty beach, some of the darkest night skies on the South Carolina coast, a community of regulars who have been coming for decades, and the kind of stillness that is genuinely hard to find anywhere on the Eastern Seaboard. Guests who find it tend to come back.

Hello & welcome! We’re a family of five based near Charleston, & we feel incredibly fortunate to spend so much time on Edisto Beach, a place we’ve fallen in love with over the years. There’s something truly special about the island—the quiet beaches, lush wildlife, & slow-paced lifestyle make it an ideal escape from the hustle & bustle of everyday life. Edisto isn’t just a vacation spot—it’s a place to connect, unwind, make lasting memories together.

Our children love biking along the trails, wandering the uncrowded beaches, & discovering wildlife at every turn. Climbing the historic live oaks, exploring the privacy berm around & enjoying the hammock are among their favorite ways to spend time outdoors. Watching them experience the freedom & adventure of Edisto reminds us why we cherish this island so deeply, & it inspired us to create a home that we can share with others seeking the same magic.

Our home was designed with versatility in mind, accommodating families, friends, or couples who want to enjoy the beauty of the island while staying connected. The outdoor decks, lounge areas, & open backyard provide spaces to unwind, play games, or share meals. The kitchen & outdoor cooking amenities, from the grill to the stock pot for Lowcountry boils, encourage gathering & making memorable meals.

We want every guest to feel welcome, comfortable, & inspired to create their own treasured memories. Whether you’re exploring the beaches, playing games outdoors, enjoying quiet time under the oak trees, or preparing a family meal, we hope our home provides the perfect setting for a truly relaxing & memorable stay.

Edisto has a way of slowing life down, inviting exploration, & creating moments that stay with you forever. We are genuinely excited to welcome you to our home, & we hope you fall in love with the island just as we have.

Why they chose this property

We chose this neighborhood because it captures the essence of authentic Edisto Beach living—quiet, private, and surrounded by nature, yet still part of a welcoming community. Our home sits on a peaceful dirt road, lined with majestic live oaks that create a canopy of shade & provide a serene, natural setting. Several full-time residents live nearby, giving the area a friendly, neighborhood feel while maintaining the privacy and tranquility that drew us to the island in the first place.

What we enjoy most about this neighborhood is the slower pace of life—the calm mornings, the sounds of birds and the breeze through the trees, and the chance to watch our kids bike, explore, or play safely outdoors. The uncrowded beaches are just a short walk away, making it easy to enjoy sun, surf, and wildlife without the hustle of busier areas. We love taking evening strolls along the dirt road, spotting crabs, birds, or small tidal pools, and simply soaking in the natural beauty of Edisto.

This location also offers the perfect balance between seclusion & accessibility. While it feels like a private retreat, we’re only minutes from local favorites like Whaley’s, Bay Creek Park, and the Marina, which gives us a convenient way to enjoy dining, shopping, and island activities. For our family, it’s the ideal combination of peace, connection with nature, and community, creating a space where we can relax, recharge, and fully embrace the laid-back, scenic, and family-friendly lifestyle that makes Edisto Beach so special.

What makes this property unique

Fort Myrtle stands out as a truly distinctive Edisto Beach retreat thanks to its historic live oak privacy berm, creating a natural sanctuary unlike anywhere else on the island. This shaded, tree-lined barrier provides both seclusion & space for adventure, making it ideal for kids to explore, climb, or simply lounge with a book while adults unwind with drinks or watch the sunset. The berm sets Fort Myrtle apart, offering an experience of quiet, private coastal living that is rare even on Edisto.

Beyond the unique landscape, the property is designed for multi-generational enjoyment. The spacious outdoor decks & downstairs lounge allow for gathering, entertaining, or just relaxing in comfort. Guests can enjoy games like cornhole, bocce, Jenga, or set up a hammock for ultimate leisure. The backyard area encourages both play & tranquility, providing flexibility for families, friends, or couples seeking a versatile escape.

With a Weber charcoal grill, propane burner, large stock pot, and a full complement of cooking utensils, guests can easily host a Lowcountry boil, cookout, or casual family meal outside. Beach excursions are equally effortless: the property provides beach towels, a Cool Cabana tent, umbrellas, chairs, wagons, and toys, so families can pack light & enjoy a carefree day by the ocean.

Another defining feature is the property’s proximity & convenience without compromising privacy. Just a few minutes’ walk to Beach Access 32, guests enjoy seclusion & accessibility, with local favorites like Whaley’s, Bay Creek Park, & the Marina close by.

The blend of historic charm, natural beauty, versatile outdoor living, and family-centered amenities ensures every stay is memorable. Guests consistently praise its peaceful atmosphere, thoughtful design, and unique spaces. It’s ideal for creating memories, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying the unhurried, scenic island lifestyle that only Edisto Beach can offer.
