Bright and spacious south facing stone house with original features ( high ceilings , beams, fireplaces, etc...) overlooking vineyards in quiet countryside. Totally refurbished to high standards and equipped with all modern equipment.

5 bedrooms (2 with ensuite shower room), large brand new kitchen, living room with open fireplace, study with library and broadband internet access.

Large playroom with selection of toys and a professional baby-foot, baby chair, cot and other various baby equipment.

South facing main terrace with spectacular views over hilly countryside and vineyards.

Private pool (5x 11m) and secluded garden with separate pool terrace and summer kitchen, barbecue , sun- loungers , parasols etc...

Lots of walking tours around , canoeing on the Dordogne 5 min away , and possibility to rent bicycles . Also ideally located to explore St Emilion and do wine tasting tours , discover Bergerac ,Monbazillac , Duras , ...

Children : Mazurie Villa is particularly comfortable for families with young children. The large and light playroom, with wooden floor, overlooking the countryside through large bay windows, and set almost next to the main living room is a particularly strong asset.

The house is fully equipped with stair gates, high chair, changing mat, cots, talkie walkies, baby relax... so that you do not have to carry all this with you.

There is also a large selection of toys, tricycle, pedal cars etc...

Privacy for sharers: Mazurie villa is ideal for sharers of different generations. The house has 3 separate sleeping areas. One upstairs with 2 double bedrooms (one with a double bed and one just next door with 2 single beds) , one with the master bedroom downstairs and its en-suite (with the possibility in case of a baby to have the baby in the study nearby) , and a further bedroom downstairs with its en-suite shower room .

Mid season and Winter : Villa Mazurie has been fully refurbished in 2002-2004. It can be a nice stay to explore the surrounding vineyards by bicycle, or play golf, or simply enjoy the local gastronomy and discover the historic wonders around.

Walls, floors, and ceilings are isolated .The main heating system consists of radiant electricity powered radiators in all rooms. In addition, there is an efficient wooden stove in the kitchen/dining room, and an open fireplace in the main living room.

The children playroom is not heated in the winter as it is too big. It can be easily condemned. The pool is not heated either and is covered from Nov. till March

There is also the possibility in the winter for smaller parties to use only a part of the house and to condemn access to the north wing for a cosy stay. The house then consists of the large Kitchen/ Dining room /.living room with TV, video, etc, 2 double bedroom (1 master, 1 double) upstairs, a family bathroom, a Utility room and a further single bedroom

Excellent large house

Dear Ludovic ,

We had an excellent family holiday in your property .

The pool is lovely and large . Big enough for games , swimming and even a bit of gentle plunge diving off the side in the deep end .

The girls loved it . The house is large and comfortable .

My only reservations were the lack of showers and WC upstairs although there were plenty downstairs , and your nice piano was very out of tune .

There was certainly a lot of room including a library and games room .

There is lots for children to do in the area including a sandy lakeside beach , a great climbing and zip wire adventure and even waterskiing a bit over an hour away in Tremolat . This was very much geared up for total novices and for children .

Overall we very much much enjoyed our stay thank you .

Lovely, spacious house

We really loved our stay in the house - exactly what we were looking for with lots of space, a great pool and different areas for every to relax and hang out in. All of the bedrooms were comfortable, and the amount of bathrooms meant that there was never a wait!

The only downside was the size of the kitchen. Based on the size of the house and room it was in, as well as the amount of people the house sleeps it really was tiny. As I am sure so many of the people who rent houses like this like to, a big part of a holiday to a remote area of France for us is to cook. There was only really room for one person at a time and cooking a big meal was a little taxing! With so much space on the ground floor the house would hugely benefit from a bigger kitchen!

Aside from this we really did love the house!

Owner's Response: Everything is relative 😊?.The kitchen is a large room : to be factual it is 6x6 m = 36 m2 ( circa 400 sq Feet) with a large dining table comfortably sitting 8 to 10 people .

La Mazurie August 2016

A lovely location and beautiful property for our extended family holiday. Plenty of space, fantastic pool for young children to play and adults and children to swim, very accessible for someone who is disabled, with most rooms on the level, or just one or two manageable steps. Beautiful vineyard views and plenty of private space. Property well maintained and equipped, and plenty to do in the area. Highly recommended.

An Oasis of Calm - The Ultimate in Relaxation

We took a month off from busy London to spend some time in the countryside of France. We chose this charming renovated farmhouse. The house was comfortable and spacious, with a great playroom and toys for our young son to play with inside and out. A separate sleeping area meant that we could have friends over without feeling our space and privacy was being infringed. We enjoyed shopping for French delicacies at nearby St Foy La Grande (the butcher and bread shop in particular are to be commended). We ate many of our meals outside on the terraces where we had sun in both morning and afternoon with terraces on the front and back of the house.

The highlight of our day was our walk in the neighboring fields after dinner. We also enjoyed the large selection of French and English books for both adults and kids in the library on our lazy evenings at home.

On a functional basis, the home was very clean and linens, towels etc were impeccable. To be recommended. We would come again.

Peace and comfort, the best combination!

The perfect place one dreams of as a holiday home. The house is beautiful, has character, is comfortable and is very well equipped. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return.

Great, well-maintained property.

I arrived at this property have no expectations, good or bad. I left with a great impression. The house was clean, well provisioned, and well preserved (it is a very old house with some new add-ons and renovations). Everything we wanted was already there and working: good internet connection, clean pool, working appliances, cooking and dining items, flat-screen TV and movies, and beautifully preserved old wooden floors and stairs that creaked in a very satisfying and quaint way when I walked on them.

While I do not have children, I noted that there were lots of pool toys for kids and, had the weather been better (I experienced a very, very rare cold spell in late May) I would probably have enjoyed them too.

The only thing necessary to bring to this house (you don't even have to bring peace of mind, as you will find yours there) is a car to visit the surrounding areas. Although there are a couple places to eat within walking distance, and a nice cherry tree in the patio, you should remember that this is the countryside. That means no Starbucks or Costa Coffee across the street. The nearest supermarché is a mile or two away, and the train station will take you an hour by foot.

In short, this is beautiful, romantic getaway in the French countryside. If you love French wine, or would like to get to know more about it, and you appreciate the tranquility of hill-upon-hill of rolling, carefully manicured vineyards, is hard to think of a better place for you to be.

Located in Fougueyrolles hamlet, 3 km away from the bastide of Ste- Foy la Grande and its famous market (amongst the 100 best markets in France), Mazurie is in less than 30 Min drive from Bergerac and St Emilion (Unesco World Heritage) , and just an hour away from Bordeaux .

It is a perfect place from which to explore the numerous castles and attractions of the famous Dordogne Vallee.

The seaside (Arcachon or Lacanau) can be reached in less than 2 hours by car or by train.

Perfectly suited for a family holiday, there are numerous activities to do in the immediate surroundings of the house. On the convenient side there is also a supermarket (Leclerc) located just 2 km away from the house, and the numerous boutiques of Ste Foy are just 5 min

Golf: The International golf 'les Vigiers' is about 10km away from the house (a short 15MN drive). Nearer the house (walking distance), there is also a fun golf for beginners.
