We had a great time during our stay. The cabin and property are simple but had everything we needed. Our kids enjoyed fishing off the dock and out of the canoe! Quiet place tucked back into the woods on a beautiful lake!

Kody,
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Always great to hear others enjoy our cabin as much as we do! Thanks for staying at our cabin and taking such good care of it!
This was our first vacation with our dog and it was great! Everyone really enjoyed the week and even when the weather wasn't great, we weren't far from lots of fun things to do with the boys. The beds and sheets were so comfy I found myself sleeping in just to enjoy them! Thank you for sharing your place with us!
We LOVED this place! The cabin was absolutely beautiful with plenty of space and everything we needed for a short stay, while visiting family in the area. Mr. Jon and Ms. Miranda were so kind and responsive to questions, even at a late hour after a stressful day of airline travel! Thank y'all so much for sharing your beautiful cabin with our family!
The cabin was perfect for our family. Close enough to all activities in Brainerd & Nisswa, yet offered peace & quiet when you’re just looking to relax with the family.

Jacki,
Thank you for taking the time to review our cabin! We are always happy to hear of other families finding the local treasures of the area and finding the cabin to be a relaxing experience. Thank you for staying!
The cabin was a great size for our family and we had a good time playing and fishing in the lake. Hosts were very responsive and answered all questions. Great family getaway!
This was an excellent rental! It had everything we needed for two adults and 3 kids. Our kids loved the lily pad, kayaks and opportunity to fish off the dock. The private lake made for such a peaceful setting. We also enjoyed all the games that we were able to play as a family. The Lego’s and Lincoln Logs were also a favorite for our youngest. Being surrounded by the woods and undeveloped shorelines felt like a step back in time, in the best way possible! Truly a peaceful hideaway that still provided all the amenities a family could need. We will be back!

Anne ,
Thanks for the great review! Great to hear that you and your family enjoyed your time. Sounds like your family had a wonderful time! Please come back and stay again!
Nice secluded cabin with great on lake location. Great owners, lots of amenities made available (kayaks, paddle board, etc.) Great set up for a couple, single family.
This is our second stay at this property, and it's the perfect home base for a family lake vacation. Our kid's families stayed nearby, came over for family dinners in the large dining area, and enjoyed s'mores around the campfire. Everything you need is provided and even our two dogs felt right at home.

Hi Valerie, we are so happy to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay! Hopefully many memories were made. Thank you for choosing our cabin for your vacation!’
The cabin’s location on a private lake was awesome. The views from the cabin and deck were spectacular! Our family enjoyed all of the amenities as well as spending time around the campfire and playing games in the evening. Even though the weather was hot, the cabin cools off nicely and we were always comfortable.
We enjoyed our quick family trip to the Brainerd area and Jon & Miranda’s cute cabin! It was in great central location to attractions. Loved the Lonely Pine restaurant nearby, very family friendly & nice for adults too. Their cabin had a great bonfire pit we enjoyed, as well as fun games to check out on our lazy mornings. Great cabin and great communication with Jon and Miranda!
Overall a nice cabin - very cute decor inside. Cozy. Fully stocked kitchen which was appreciated. Window air conditioners which worked well. Kayaks were a big plus for us also. Peaceful outdoor setting. The only thing I would suggest for improvement is cleanliness…. A little more TLC with kitchen appliances, inside cupboards (some dish-ware was dusty), mattress pads (noticed when stripped beds) and badly stained carpet. This is something that can make a big difference. But overall, a nice stay with peaceful setting.
The cabin was very clean and had all the conveniences of home we were looking for. There were neighbors close by, but it still felt very private. Our family really enjoyed spending time on the lake in the kayaks, and the bird feeders to help attract the wildlife was a nice touch. The owners were very thoughtful and responsive when needed. We definitely would recommend the cabin to others!
We were looking for a home on a lake where we could unwind and recharge. This was perfect. Not too far from the Cities, close to restaurants, breweries, shopping, hiking trails and kayaking! We were there during the week so also very quiet and peaceful which is exactly what we were looking to experience!
My family and I had a very good time overall. The cabin was very nice and had everything needed for a nice stay. There was 1 thing that prevented me from giving 5 stars all around. The primary purpose of our stay was the proximity to the lake for fishing. Upon arrival, it was noted that there was a large pontoon parked at the dock. This was not displayed in the listing photos. Due to the dock space the boat took up, there was only room for 2 people to fish at a time. It also prevented a clear line of site for keeping an eye on the kids playing in the water. This was very inconvenient and affected the enjoyment of our stay.

Hi Bridget,
So happy to hear your large group enjoyed your stay. We are sorry to hear the pontoon was in the way and an inconvenience to you. We will update the picture of the dock with the pontoon on the the lift. Hope you made some good memories!
I’m 62 years old have traveled extensively in the US and internationally since I was 22 after this I will just be staying in a hotel even though I have used Verbo several times in the past which has been great but this experience taught me better to stay at a hotel the owners tried but probably not the best people to be running a VRBO there is no property manager and they live approximately two hours away and I believe they just are not up to par of every other about I have ever stayed at they did try to address my concerns over the phone and I did appreciate that but I was here for memorial services for family members and other family Events so I was booked for events the entire time I was here from Scottsdale Arizona they did ask if I would like to move as I had to call them immediately when I arrived about the Smell and dirtiness of the property obviously no professional cleaning whatsoever and many many issues I had to spend my first day instead of resting a little and getting unpacked cleaning all day or I I would have been so grossed out it was not anything I’ve ever seen at another VRBO everThey did communicate with me over the phone in the Twin Cities and told me to call with any other issues which I appreciate but I was not going to spend my precious time with my family and at the memorial calling on all the different issues that was not what I was here for I only had a limited amount of time and that is not how I wanted to spend my time as I told the couple that runs their VRBO my goal here is to give constructive criticism so that they can improve their VRBO or hire local professional management or hire a professional cleanersOr choose what they would like to do with their property as adults

Pamela we are disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at our cabin. As we told you the handful of times we corresponded through the Vrbo app, text or talking on the phone, we were more than happy to help you with any and all of your issues or concerns. After one of our conversations we attempted to get resolution for you for your concerns about the cleaning of our cabin by refunding you the cleaning fee. We do acknowledge that there was dust on the top of the coffee maker and the blades of our fans. Just to be clear, our cabin is maintained normally by professional cleaners. We were in between cleaning companies and had to clean it ourselves this time. We could tell after speaking with you during the first day of your stay that we might not be the best fit for you and offered you a full refund so you could find more suitable accommodations for you and your dog. On an additional phone call we walked you through how to use our smart televisions. We tried to address your concern that we had removed our window a/c units because the lows were in the 40’s by offering to come up and install one for you but you declined our offer. You had mentioned on our initial conversation when you got to our cabin that you were having trouble with the door lock. We stayed on the phone with you to make sure you were able to get in. Only to find out from you after you checked out, that you were still having trouble with the door lock and called an after hours locksmith to help you with the door lock. We did not authorize a locksmith yet we did reimburse you an additional $300, had you called us we could have told you we do have an additional lock box with another key that you could have tried. We also have a very nice neighbor who could have stopped by to help you with our door lock. The intent we have for our cabin is for it to be a cozy, relaxing family getaway in the woods. We are sorry to hear you had such a miserable time. Clearly we were not a good fit for one another.
The weather wasn't very cooperative. So we stayed in most of the time. Great cabin!
Some neighbors but very quiet and peaceful environment. Great towns near by to visit. Grocery store not too far and open late. Beautiful country.
We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable lake cabin. It was quite and peaceful and well furnished with almost everything you need (bring your own towels.) The host was friendly and helpful. We would definitely rent this property again.
