About Dennis Kelleher

My wife and I purchased this beautiful home several years ago, and look forward to spending a great deal of our retirement years here. We hope our guests enjoy our home as well as the town of Belfast and the surrounding areas as much as we do!

Dennis Kelleher purchased this house in 2007

Why Dennis Kelleher chose Belfast

The property is set up nicely for either one couple to enjoy or up to six guests. The large deck, which several Adirondack chairs that face the harbor make it for a very relaxing time. The house has been decorated by award winning interior designer Janis Stone.

What makes this house unique

The house is located near the footbridge, which provides access to the Main Street and the Belfast water front. The short walk over the footbridge provides spectacular views of the harbor. On the west side of the footbridge, the new rail to trail providers walkers, runners, bike riders a peaceful venue to enjoy views of the harbor as well. Belfast is located very close to the towns of Camden, Northport, Lincolnville, Searsport. There is a beautiful maritime museum in Searsport. Moosepoint State Park is a 3 minute drive to the north, and Fort Know and the Penobscot Observatory is a 15 minute drive to the north.

The town has such a quaint feel to it. There are several restaurants to visit, some on the waterfront and a few on Main Street. All very casual and perfect for a couple or families.

We have a good collection of books and movies for our guests to enjoy during their down time.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Dennis,

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage - it is lovely - the weather was beautiful. We left about 9:00 on Sat, and everything was as we found it. A table on the deck would be nice because it would be great to eat breakfast outside - the mornings were just beautiful.

Note from Owner: After Marianna and her family's departure we purchased a nice picnic table for the deck. The table compliments the adirondack chairs that are located on the lower deck.

Comfortable Lodging, Convenient Location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 4 nights in September 2018. The house was spotless and well furnished with dining and kitchen utensils. Location is conveniently located about a half mile walk across a footbridge to Belfast, where there are several excellent restaurants. This property was perfect for our visits to Camden and Rockland to the south and Acadia and Bar Harbor to the north. I highly recommend.

Pleasant stay at charming harborside cottage

  • 5 of 5

We (myself, my wife, and 2 kids) enjoyed a wonderful stay at Dennis' cottage overlooking Belfast Harbor. The cottage's location, although near the main road, made for easy access up and down mid-coast Maine. We ranged as far south as Owl's Head and as far north as Bucksport, and were able to enjoy a number of the attractions in the area, including Fort Knox, the Penobscot Narrows Observatory, Belfast Harbor, Camden, Rockport, Rockland, and Birches Point State Park. Also, who can forget being able to walk across the footbridge, which we took advantage of almost daily to enjoy the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Dennis and Jim made our stay comfortable and quickly remedied the few issues we faced. Dennis also provided helpful suggestions for area dining venues which we took advantage of (e.g., Camden Deli and great view on 2nd floor deck). The kids didn't want to leave towards the end of the week and we would definitely look forward to returning again!

Just perfect!!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Kerry and Dennis for a wonderful week at your beautiful Harbor Watch Cottage in Belfast. We absolutely loved the house as well as all the amenities that you provided for us to feel at home from the moment we walked in. All we needed to do was purchase our food at the local market. The beds and pillows were beyond comfortable and there were plenty of towels in each bathroom. The home is beautifully decorated and most importantly...it was absolutely spotless!!

Loved the small deck upstairs as well as morning coffee on the main deck overlooking the harbor. To top it off, we were able to park the car in the garage when we were not using it.

The walking bridge was amazing to have and less than a minute down the road...No need to drive to town. It was beautifully lit at night. Take a right once over the bridge to access the 2.2 mile town built trail which is paved, flat and hugs the water. Perfect for runners, bikes, walkers and baby carriages too!! To the left off the bridge, you walk through a working shipyard surrounded by boats and yachts to reach all the shops, the diner for breakfast, waterfront restaurants, ice cream, small movie theater and boat rides. Quaint harbor town, lovely people and amazing views. Again, the best part is that it is all accessible by foot from the house.

The house is perfectly located for a day trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park,

Camden Harbor, Mount Battie, Penobscot Observatory and Fort Knox. Too many to list

Must eat at Young’s Lobster Pound down the road from the house. We didn’t know ahead of time but the locals bring their own bottles of wine, cheese and crackers, appetizers before eating those delicious lobsters!!! So good it is worth two visits!!

All in all...It was a beautiful home that Kerry and Dennis clearly put much care into. It was a safe area for my older teenagers to have a little independence by walking to town by themselves and enjoying some sibling time together. It was just a perfect week...Just what we needed!! We will definitely return.

fantastic location, wonderful view and interior both tasteful and user friendly

  • 4 of 5

Rented this property off season in November and December to provide medical services in the Belfast area. Great place to come home and relax after a day of toil--wish I had had more time and better weather to partake of the class A view of the Harbor from upper and lower decks and to make use of the footbridge to easily access all of the restaurants and attractions of Belfast across the Bay---I'm sure during peak season that this, also, would be my choice of homes to rent----close enough to hit all the attractions across the Bay but with no crowds teaming around the premises. Owners very accessible by phone, if needed, and local friends of owner responsive to any needs. Thanks Dennis!
