Casa do Almagre - rural tourism

Casa do Almagre is a rural cottage ideal for those looking for relaxing holidays on the island of Santa Maria (Azores). Dating from 1937, the house was restored in order to maintain the traditional Mariense architecture and value the materials originally used in its construction such as stone, clay and wood. Despite its rustic character the house is equipped with all the facilities.
Casa do Almagre is a registered vacation rental (RRAL 353) and in 2015 it received the Miosotis Azores award as a recognition of its good environmental and social practices.

Features
The house is set on a plot of land consisting of a small wooded hill, a threshing floor overlooking the ocean and a large area of grassland.
The house has a kitchen and living-room area in open space, with a sofa bed, stove and oven, traditional wood fired oven, microwave oven, fridge and freezer combo, and espresso machine; a large bedroom with double bed; and a large bathroom with washing machine.

Capacity
Casa do Almagre is ideal for 1 couple or a family (2 adults + 2 children). For families with infants or young children (up to 2-3 years) a baby crib, baby tub and a feeding chair are available.

Location
The house is located in Fonte do Jordão, in the parish of Santo Espírito at approximately 5 km from Maia, 9 km from Praia Formosa and 12 km from Vila do Porto.
