It features a roomy front porch, back balcony, gas grill, fenced in backyard, hardwood floors, wood burning fireplace, stocked kitchen with gas range, DW, W/D, A/C, high speed (free)Wi-Fi, and smart tv. Two large bedrooms with big closets and high-end, American made, comfy, queen mattresses ensure you will sleep like a baby. There is also a dedicated office space for folks working remotely. Popular eateries, watering holes, and grocery stores are within walking distance. Take a walk in the old neighborhood or on the Reed Creek Greenway. Whether you are relocating, looking for a new house, renovating your existing house, or seeking a safe retreat for a few months with the pooch, our Montford home may be for you! Please note that the old house is now split into three living spaces (apartments A, B, and C). There are long-term (friendly and quiet) tenants upstairs in apartment B. The basement apartment is used (by me), on occasion, for storing supplies and doing laundry between stays.

We love staying at Donna’s place-perfectly comfortable and convenient. The fenced back yard is especially nice for my dogs who tag along. I also love that it’s walking distance to downtown and grocery stores. We can’t wait to stay there again next year😊
Stayed a week and really enjoyed the location and all the amenities of the property. Walked to the farmer's market at UNC Asheville and various restaurants. Easy drive (around 5 minutes) to all the major supermarkets and downtown. The neighborhood has a great vibe.

We love having y'all stay here! We appreciate that you are tidy, respectful, easy to work with, and take good care of the house, even watering the plants. See you again next year!
We love staying at this property and hope to again in the future. Asheville offers lots of opportunities to volunteer, so bring a tool or two! Your skills will be welcomed! This home is centrally located-walking distance to downtown. So you can take advantage of Asheville’s wonderful shops and restaurants.
This we really enjoyed staying at this property. The house has a very homey feel and has everything you would need. I took advantage of being close to excellent grocery stores and the Asheville farmer’s market to prepare most of our meals in the unit, but you are also very close to lots of farm to table restaurants. We can’t wait to return!

We loved staying at Donna’s Montfort area cottage. The house is perfect and the neighborhood is wonderful for in town walking among amazing houses and mature trees. Greenway just down the street. Close to everything. Donnna was a fantastic host who made sure everything went smoothly during our time there.

Thank you David and Karin! We loved having you guys and Jackie at our place. Y'all are kind, gentle "good vibe" folks.. fit right in in the neighborhood. Come back and visit anytime!
We spent 3 months here while looking for our new home. The Montford District is just amazing, great walking neighborhood, and Donna's place was the perfect base for us to explore Asheville. The extra room worked great as an office space and guest room. My cats loved the house and neighborhood too.

Anne, thank you for the great review. We really enjoyed hosting you guys. Thanks for keeping me updated on all bear activity, and for taking such good care of the apartment and flowers. You're welcome back anytime! Good luck in your new home. 😀
This house is located in a wonderful location in Asheville with plenty of places to walk. The home is very clean, decorated beautifully and has a well stocked kitchen. I loved the look and feel of it and felt at home right away. The beds are super comfortable. My dog loved the place, too. There's a large fenced in yard in back. There's a great front porch and little yard area for people and pets. Donna is a gracious host and took care of every little detail, having things available around the house that one might need (including a poncho, flashlight, towels for the dog, and even an extra pair of gloves!!). My stay in Donna's home made my whole experience in Asheville that much more amazing. I will look forward to staying here again!

Thank you so much Courtenay. We loved having you and Barney. So happy you enjoyed your special week. I look forward to hosting you again! Thank you for being a thoughtful and considerate guest. ❤
We absolutely loved staying in this adorable duplex/cottage in historic Montford in Asheville. The home itself was super charming, and I especially appreciated the luxurious bedding in the master--I truly hated to leave it! We had excellent office space as both of us work full time from home and worked out of this property for 4 weeks with no issues. Donna was an extremely attentive host and responded quickly to questions. She was so kind and thoughtful and we were appreciative. The neighborhood itself is a great combination of beautiful trees and flowers, historic inns and homes, and is less than a block from a really pretty and active park. We walked often to 2 fabulous restaurants, Nine Mile and All Day Darling, and also rode bikes to Riverside Cemetery, a must-see beautiful location. All in all we enjoyed the stay tremendously and appreciate the ways in which Donna made sure we felt at home.

Christina, Thank you for staying at my place in Montford. It always makes me happy to hear that folks love the neighborhood and my house as much as I do. There is a long history of good vibes there and you, your husband and pups fit right in! You left the house clean and tidy which is always appreciated. The neighbors enjoyed having y'all here too, chatting on the front porch, and watching the dogs commune with Michele's chickens! Come back for a visit anytime! Enjoy Charleston and safe travels on the long trek home!
Can't recommend this place enough. The property itself was very clean and spacious, had a well stocked kitchen, and had a nice front porch and yard space. The owner was amazing to work with. She was always very responsive and was very flexible relative to our dates and plans which changed a few times. She was always very accommodating and generous including leaving us a welcome basket. She also provided us with a calendar at the end of our stay featuring her own photography. Her talent was also displayed in various locations in the house. The location of the house can't be beat with the ability to walk to neighborhood restaurants and a short walk to all that downtown Asheville has to offer.
The house was also pet-friendly which was great for us. The owner even has furniture covers available to help lessen your worries about your pets damaging the furniture.
Again, not a detail was missed, including the plush bath towels. If you are looking for a great place to stay in a great location with a property owner who takes pride in their property, and who will make sure your stay is perfect, then I highly recommend staying here.

I bought my beloved house in Montford in 2000. Over the years, much love and grit has gone into renovating and upgrading the original two, and eventually three spaces. I've lived in the house full time for six years and part time for three years. There are wonderful long term tenants Trey, Millie, and their dog and cat living upstairs in the B apartment. My dog Mary and I stay part time in the basement apartment, but you can reach me anytime with questions or special requests. I live most of the time on Lake Norman, just north of Charlotte with my husband Robert, our dog Mary, and our four cats Gizmo, Pippi, Olive and Cleo. While I love living on the Lake in my family home, my heart is always in Asheville at my sweet home in Montford. I hope you enjoy your stay there as much as I do. If there is anything I can do to make your stay more pleasurable, please let me know!
