Review of Mountain View Cottage

The property was as shown on line. Everything was clean and all the essentials were provided in the kitchen. Lovely views. Very relaxing. The water pressure in the bathroom could be better.

The house was just fine and seeing the wildlife certainly made up for the unusual driveway through the junkyard. My only complaint was the lack of water pressure in the shower. Other than that we really enjoyed ourselves.

Best Ashville trip we've had yet!

Great location to literally anything, host is super responsive and makes sure you're taken care of. The place itself was great in all aspects as well. Already planning our return trip.

Cottage coziness

The. Cottage is quiet and cozy with great views! We needed A great deal for our family budget. It was that amd more. We recommend staying here.

Cozy and close to everything

We had a cozy, lovely stay. Host was helpful and available and gave us lots of privacy. Kitchen had everything we needed and we were close to town. We slept well. Plan to be back next time we're in town. Pizza delivery person struggled to find us after dark, so call early.

Winter Getaway

Unfortunately, Western North Carolina was rocked by Hurricane Helene. We booked our cottage, several weeks prior to Helene. The owner responded to our questions and concerns quickly. The owner sent us directions to the cottage that are spot on. The cottage described was accurate. The cottage was very clean and very comfortable. Cozy cottage with fabulous views

As many others said, it’s a little tricky to find the first time—use the directions sent along from host along with gps in the daylight. But the inside is clean and comfortable. It wasn’t quite warm enough to enjoy the deck table/chairs, but we did see a family of bears in the neighbors yard!

Peaceful

Beautiful view and so peaceful. All I could hear were birds chirping and an occasional car. My dog Henry and I enjoyed sitting on the porch. I have no complaints about the cottage. It suited my needs perfectly. Pretty much everything is provided except napkins and Kleenex. We enjoyed watching the bears (from a distance) including a mama bear and her 5 cubs!

Weekend Getaway

We had a lovely visit! Marjorie’s daughter came to meet us in person and welcome us to the cottage. It was very clean, and just like the pictures. We saw a few curious bears during our stay, too! Thank you!

Perfect stay!

Stayed two nights while in town for wedding. The property was located close to everything, it was clean, and we felt safe. It was the perfect size for 2 people or small family. We saw mama bear and her 3 babies which made our trip! Would definitely book again if I’m the area.

Cozy cottage

My girlfriend and I absolutely loved the cottage, it was exactly as it was described, check in was a breeze and the directions that Marjorie sent were easy to follow. During our stay we enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to the birds and watching other wildlife like turkeys, rabbits and we saw some bears down over the bank at someone else’s property, they didn’t come up towards us so we didn’t feel threatened at all. During our stay we enjoyed some hiking, traveling along the Blue Ridge Parkway and exploring downtown Asheville. The cottage is very close to all these things and we would definitely stay with this host again.

Excellent location to downtown with beautiful wildlife!

We loved the location of this Vrbo with how close it was to downtown while also feeling like we were on a mountain. Would visit again!

Bear Central

This cottage is located up on a beautiful hill. It has a porch and deck with area to sit. The cittage is pretty, and comfortable.We saw 15 different bears the 1st day. Deer, rabbits, wild turkeys, a chipmunk, a raccoon, a turtle. and many birds. The bears come by daily, and super close to the house, but they were not concerned with us. Janet is a superb host, and was available at any time. The only drawback is that the AC does not get as cool as we like it, but use the ceiling fans. The oven was dirty and the dishwasher was dirty. too. However. we are planning to go back next Summer.

A very nice cabin.

This is a nice cabin, clean, good location and comfortable. We saw bears every evening, even a mama bear with 5 cubs. Also, saw lots of Goldfinches, bluebirds, bluejay and of course, crows. We were there celebrating my oldest daughters 50 birthday and the younger daughter met us there from DC. We went to the NC Arboretum, Outlet shopping and Biltmore House Gardens. The properties around the cabins are "junky" with abandoned cars and the like. But, around the cabin it is neat with everything well trimmed. If you plan on using the grill (or light candles) bring your own lighter or matches, the one in the drawer does not work
