Beautiful 4-Season House & Beach, Stunning View, Great Offseason Rates!

Bedrooms 3
Half Baths1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 0 - 6 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Our large, recently renovated, B&B-like house sits on a knoll overlooking Keuka Lake with an extraordinary view, especially at sunset. We have 120 feet of lake front with a large private beach with a dock, grill, table, chairs and an excellent swimming area.

For this summer, we have two 6-day periods available -- June 24-30 (Sunday to Friday nights) and August 25-Sept. 1 (Saturday through Thursday nights). Each period is $2500 plus cleaning/linens fee and tax. We have one open 7-day week: July 14-21.

The house is nearly 2,000 square feet. We added two bathrooms as well as a laundry room. The very well-equipped kitchen is modern with a new dishwasher as well as a UV water filter and garbage disposal.

We offer great offseason rates for our 4-season home. In early spring (through April 15), weekends are just $350 for two nights. Midweek nights are just $125. Spring weekends (though May 21) are just $500 for two nights, $650 for three. Midweek nights are just $150 (3-night minimum).

We are near numerous wineries, most of which stay open on weekends through the winter. In the spring you can often hear the sound of the creek flowing at the edge of our property. In the fall, the color around the lake is spectacular. In the winter, our house has central heat and a gas-burning fireplace in the den. The view out our new picture windows is fabulous. We are less than an hour from Bristol Mountain Ski Area.

From our covered porch you can enjoy the ever-changing light off the lake. You can walk or bike the access road in front of our house, perhaps hiking up one of canyons into the hills above the lake, to some extraordinary waterfalls. You can walk or bike the trail that connects Keuka and Seneca Lakes. Or fish -- the area near our house is known as one of the best bass fishing areas in the Finger Lakes.

There are three good-sized bedrooms and two full bathrooms upstairs, including a 225-square-foot master bedroom. All three bedrooms have lake views as well as air conditioners. There is a full bed in one, a queen in the second and two twin beds plus a full futon in the third. We have two roll-away beds plus many baby items such as a travel crib/bassinet.

The den downstairs can be closed off and has a new convertible full sofa. There is a new half bath on the first floor.

The front of the house is a covered porch with Adirondack chairs and a teak dining table. There is also a covered flagstone patio off the driveway.

About Tim Saasta

One thing we've learned from decades of renting and now owning vacation rental houses is that perhaps the most important factor is whether the owner uses the house regularly. We do. We love the house and the area. We spend a lot of time at the house during the offseason, working on it and enjoying it. It's also a great place to write, which is part of my job.

When owners use a house for more than a week in the summer, they make sure the kitchen is well equipped. They make sure everything works and is comfortable. You don't want your sister-in-law complaining about the beds!

They also add to the house over time, as we have done even after the initial renovation. We love the land and we've spent tons of time getting it as beautiful as it is. There's more to do but it's been gratifying to see it come back to life over time.

Tim Saasta purchased this house in 2007

Why Tim Saasta chose Dundee

We were introduced to Keuka Lake 20 years ago by friends in Rochester. We kept coming back. We bought this house with our friends because it had spectacular potential. Restoring this house -- built as early as the 1840s -- has been a ton of work, but worth it.

What makes this house unique

The sunset view. The secluded pebble beach. The house. The covered porch. Biking/walking along East Lake Rd. The area. The view.

Lovely home!

  • 5 of 5

We had truly wonderful time (even though the weather was fairly cold and windy). The house was warm and welcoming. All the general supplies we could need. The view, beautiful. The host incredibly kind and accommodating. So glad to have brought my family for a long weekend!

Great House - Great Location and View

  • 5 of 5

We rented the house with a group of friends and family to have a weekend getaway and tour the different wineries and breweries at Keuka Lake. The house was at a great location, remarkable view and very well maintained. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed to cook our dinner and breakfast along with having access to a gas grill. The fire-pit at the beach was used both nights and was a definite plus. Having the two and 1/2 bathrooms also worked well with our group of 7. Owner was very easy to work with, helpful and the notes on the house were great! Would recommend rental of this property.

Lovely Labor Day on the Lake

  • 5 of 5

Tim was a wonderful host, and his home offers all the things you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay on Keuka Lake. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well appointed, and their front porch has a picturesque view of the lake that you can enjoy from the Adirondack chairs or outdoor dining table. There were helpful notes around the house about how to use things, and we really felt like we were staying at a close friend's home rather than a rental property. We had a last minute request that Tim was able to accommodate, and we were extremely grateful for his fast response rate and willingness to help. My family will definitely be back and hope to stay for a longer trip next time.

The owner was extremely helpful in the planning of our get away weekend-he answered all of my questions and responded within 48 hours. By the time we went I felt like I knew the property and what to expect. Beautiful view, quiet, clean, close to several wineries.

Where do you live?

Lake front home

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely, old, centrally-located home with a beautiful view of Keuka Lake. It was well-equipped & had plenty of space. We enjoyed the views as we had family game nights at the large inside table overlooking the lake. The Adirondack chairs on the deck allowed for comfortable and relaxing seating in the mornings and while watching the sunsets in the evenings. Really wish that canoes or kayaks were available with the rental... we didn't have perfect weather until our last full day so we didn't want to rent kayaks for three days to be delivered, but it would have been wonderful to have them available (or a row-boat to take out fishing.). There was no action from the dock at our personal beach across the road as far as fishing and we couldn't figure out how to access the cove that is supposed to be 5-6 houses south that is mentioned in the house notes. It was a great base for all the activities we enjoyed: Glass blowing in Corning, hiking the BREATHTAKING Watkins Glen, visiting several wineries, and even a drive up to Sodus Bay on Lake Ontario to see the lighthouse. The price during the week was very reasonable for the spacious home and beautiful view. A king-size bed in the Master, watercraft availability, & direct access to the lake without having to cross the road and go down the path would make it a 5 star, but for the price, we would still recommend this home on the water!
