We had a lovely stay the cottage was clean comfortable and well equipped in a great location. Paul the owner was very welcoming and very helpful with information about the area.A lovely part of the country to visit.
Lovely private cottage in a great location. Clean and cosy with all you need, friendly hosts.
Some good walks in the countryside and location handy for Peterborough/A1.
We have a wonderful week at Candlelight Cottage. It was amazingly comfortable, had a fantastically stocked kitchen which made family meals a cinch, while being an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area.
We highly recommended this property, with friendly, helpful and approachable hosts.

Thank you for your kind review John, it was a pleasure having you all to stay and I'm glad you had a good time!!!
Spent 10 days, it’s a lovely property with a little private garden. The bed is comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed. Yarwell is an amazing small village location, lots of great walks, park for the kids, and a fabulous butcher just over in Nassington. Very idyllic. Paul was communicative, prompt, and understanding for the duration of our stay.
Cottage was excellent. Exactly as described. Easy access to restaurants and trains to London if needed. Nice garden space. Hosts were very friendly and even helped with our dogs a bit when we had a theatre day in London. This was much appreciated. We loved it and would stay again if they would have us.

Thank you for your kind review Mary, you are all welcome back anytime!!!
On opening the door we were greeted by a light bright living area and a strong smell of cigarette smoke. The handle on the toilet cistern came off in your hand and the flush temperamental.
We enjoyed the location of this property and the variety of walks from the door and surrounding area. We did feel that it was in need of some tlc to update the freezer and frying pans and addition of a heated towel rail to air and dry the towels

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review although we are disappointed that it is so out of line with our other guests on this and other booking platforms.
We are mystified by the smell of smoke you mention as the cottage has always been strictly no smoking and there was no smell evident when it was cleaned before and after your stay. The guests that left just before you arrived were a young no smoking family who stayed with us for a month and we got to know well, we know they do not smoke and they made no mention of any smoke smell??
Please do not worry about the broken toilet handle, these things happen. The plumber has replaced the toilet cistern syphon and handle so no harm done.
We have also thrown away the frying pan with the slightly loose handle you highlighted although there are still 3 others of varying sizes available for use in addition to the wide variety of pans.
We had a lovely stay at this property. It felt very peaceful, being a converted Chapel.
It was secluded and not overlooked, so we found it to be a relaxing visit. Paul was helpful and gave us all the information and help we may have needed. The village it is situated in is rural, but not too far from a couple of towns. All in all a lovely stay.
We had a relaxing time here, enjoyed our stay of two weeks so we could see the sights and just chill for awhile. Dogs Alfie and Henry lovable lads (Henry “welcomed” us every time!) and owners friendly and knowledgeable. Recommend lasagna at the Angel pub nearby.
TV reception not always reliable nor wifi - had to sit outside for slow reception; luckily it was beautiful weather!

Just what we wanted.
I had a lovely few days at Candlelight Cottage. Have not visited the area before and thought Yarwell and surrounding villages were charming. The cottage was very well equipped and the welcome gifts, including a ball for my dog, were very thoughtful.

Great location
Really good location. Central to Stamford, Rutland Water etc. Took us a while to get used to the mattress (a little uncomfortable for us). Friendly owners and dog friendly.

Thank you for choosing to have your first family holiday with us.
All of our mattresses are Silentnight Gold or Platinum range and we often get comments about how comfortable they are so I'm sorry that you found it so different to what you are used to.
It was good to hear that you enjoyed your stay despite the disappointing weather!!

Secluded, quiet, clean, all necessities available, owner welcoming and friendly.
Attractive, different, comfortable. Parking easy. Local facilities good. The Angel pub does excellent pub grub and is very welcoming. Village shop a mile away in Nassington. Lots of walking routes to Wansford, Nassington and along the river Nene.
Yarwell convenient for accessing Stamford , Peterborough - can use the Nene Valley Railway as a Park and ride to Peterborough centre. Rutland Water has very good visitor facilities including a beach complex. Attractive villages in local stone similar to the Cotswolds and small towns such as Oakham not far plus historic houses. Roads not too busy.
All 4 of us enjoyed a relaxing week in beautiful surroundings.
