Luxury Villa with private pool and sea views, sleeps up to 8 in 4 spacious bedrooms all with private ensuite bathrooms, 2 extra beds can be added by request for a total of 10 people. Quinta da Fortaleza is perfectly located in a peaceful setting between the unspoilt pretty villages of Salema and Burgau. The internal and external design is focused on comfort and outdoor living with terraces leading directly off the sitting room and all bedrooms. The private swimming pool is generously propositioned in line with the scale of the villa. A perfect place to relax and socialise with family and friends.

The stunning design is complemented internally and externally with high specification finishes. 4 bedroom fully air conditioned villa on 3 separate floors. Large double and twin bedrooms all with ensuite facilities and terraces and sea views. Large open plan living room with outside seating and dining. Large lower level terrace leads to private pool, gardens, table tennis area. Short walk to two secluded beaches and beach bar.

Optional pool heating:
- €45/night (October to May)
- €30/night (Summer months)

Optional hot tub heating:
- €15/night all year

We had an absolutely fantastic stay here! The house was lovely really well stocked with pool and beach toys & equipment, and everything we could’ve needed in the kitchen including things that most rentals don’t even think of!Good size fridge and freezer.The pool and outdoor area was amazing and very clean, we opted to have the pool heated as we had a baby and 3 year old with us, they loved it! The air conditioning was great and very effective. The beds were very comfortable and clean.Electric shutters are on all windows and doors for security and it also really helps with keeping the sun & heat out. Communication with the property manager was easy and check in was also quick and easy.The villa is in a lovely neighbourhood not far from plenty of beaches and restaurants water parks and theme parks, lots of places to explore! The only 3 things I would mention are: -there’s a lot of stairs in this property even just to get from the driveway to the house, so it may not be a great fit for some people.- the wifi doesn’t cover all areas of the house (despite there being multiple wifi extenders throughout) - not surprising considering the size of the property but it was a little frustrating at times.- having to take the rubbish out to the waste disposal and recycling point is a bit annoying especially on leaving the rental as it’s not very close by (I wouldn’t walk there). We had to do multiple trips throughout the holiday and we had to drive there in the car.

Beautiful home in rural Algarve

We are two families of 8 who had a delightful stay at Quinta da Forteleza in August. The house is really lovely and the accommodation perfect for our large party as all rooms have large ensuites. Thank you Ian for the House Book which was a mine of useful information. Our party enjoyed dinner at the local beach restaurant (make sure you book in advance as Very Popular and the night sea breeze can make it too chilly to sit outside). Avoid Intermarche at Budens if you don't want to spend your holiday in queues. We thoroughly enjoyed water sports at Luz, which were very good value for money. Unfortunately we were not perfect guests and managed to lock ourselves out of the property, but Ian came straight to the rescue and new locks had been fitted by the time we returned from our day out. Thanks Ian for a great stay!

Voor ons gezin was het een fantastisch verblijf op een prachtige plek.

Wij waren met ons gezin van in totaal 9 personen, waaronder 3 kinderen van 4 mnd, 1 jaar en 6 jaar. Het is een prachtig huis met veel ruimte. Ieder heeft ruimte voor eigen privacy en ook in de woonkamer is voldoende ruimte om samen te zijn zonder elkaar te hinderen. Het huis ligt prachtig op een heuvel dicht bij een mooi strandje met een fijne strandtent. Het zwembad aan huis is groot genoeg en comfortabel. Kortom: aan absolute aanrader voor mensen die samen willen zijn en van een bepaalde rust houden. Overigens ligt er op 20' rijden een leuke stad (Lagos) en is er op 10'rijden een dorp waar de nodige voorzieningen te vinden zijn.

Fabulous spacious villa with helpful, attentive property manager.

A lovely spacious villa, perfect for two families. The pool area was clean and inviting with plenty of shaded areas. The table tennis was an added bonus and the gardens were very attractive. The balcony on the middle floor was large enough for everyone to eat together and the kitchen was well equipped. The air con was reliable and effective Ian was a perfect host. He replied to all queries promptly and endeavoured to have the villa ready earlier as we came in on early morning flights. He visited to check that everything was ok once we had settled in and even assisted with the car tolls. I would recommend him 100%. The only things that would improve this villa are : more comfortable mattresses, a higher extractor hood over the hob (lost count of how many times we banged our heads !), a free maid service if staying for more than a week and a couple of decking boards on the top balcony were slightly loose.

Fantastic and spacious house with incredible view

We enjoyed our stay at this fantastic and beautiful villa. Lots of space for the whole extended family. The kids loved their own bathroom as we had our own privacy as well. Very good maintained heated swimming pool. The villa is clean and the housemanager is very friendly and helpfull in any way. With a beautiful view from the main bedroom with the enjoyable jacuzzi. The nearest beach is only a 6 minutes walk away and the other incredible beaches like Praia de Rocha 35 minutes traveling. Or the End of the World is a 30 minutes drive. Nearby supermarkets and the facilities. The recommended restaurants in Salema like Atlantico and Agua de Boca are excellent. Especially Agua de Boca is recommendable with excellent service, good ambiance and very friendly. We are definitely coming back!!

Beautiful villa in superb location

Our extended family enjoyed a fantastic stay in this beautiful villa. With four large bedrooms with en-suite facilities, there is plenty of room to accommodate everybody. The villa is very well furnished, beautifully maintained & equipped and has lots of outside space with a lovely pool and garden. The rooftop jacuzzi with far reaching sea views is a stunning feature.The local beaches of Burgau & Salema are gorgeous and have lots of good restaurants to choose from, while the local beach and restaurant are good and within walking distance. We particularly enjoyed the excellent walks and drives in the immediate vicinity through fabulous countryside. If anything the listing particulars cannot do justice to this property, which we would recommend highly.

Fabulous spacious villa

We had a fantastic holiday in the beautiful villa. Plenty of room to accommodate two families and loads of outdoor space. The house is very well equipped. Local beaches are gorgeous and lots of restaurants in nearby Burgau and Salema. The local beach restaurant is fantastic. We loved it & we plan on going back soon.

An excellent property in a peacefull location.

This is a very fine spacious high quality property. On arrival we found it to be very clean and is well maintained. Bedrooms all spacious with ensuite facilities so allowing us privacy as we were 2 family groups. A short walk 5 minute walk to a quite sandy beach. Good restaurants in the locality but it is necessary to travel approx. 2 miles to get to local towns (2).

Fantastic views and location

We stayed at this villa in April. The house was very clean , bright and spacious. The sea views were incredible. It's 20 minutes by car to Lagos and in the other direction its 20 mins to the immaculately clean and remote beaches on the west coast. We will definitely be coming back.

I am also the Estate Manager at Quinta da Encosta Velha, Parque da Floresta and the founder of a local independent school. The size of the property can easily accommodate two families sharing. All bedrooms have large en suite bathrooms. Fixtures and fittings are all of the highest specification. Although we can comfortably sleep 10 unfortunately, our rental licence is limited only 8 persons - if you require additional capacity, please contact us. BOOKINGS ARE LIMITED TO THE NUMBER OF GUESTS AGREED AT TIME OF BOOKING. No extra guests are permitted to stay without our prior agreement.
