About Daphne DeMaris - property manager
Our mother grew up in Bangor and it is from her that we get our love of Maine. We spent time here every summer even though it was very far from our home in Michigan. We continue to bring family and friends to this special place year after year.
Daphne DeMaris - property manager purchased this Cottage in 1972
Why Daphne DeMaris - property manager chose Ellsworth
Our family has owned this property since the early 70's. We would drive to Branch Lake from Detroit, Michigan, for a few weeks every summer. Special memories and friends were made on this lake. Now the second generation owns the cottage and the third generation of our family has come to love it as much as the rest of us.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our father designed this cottage from the pilings up. One of the special considerations he made was including a handicap accessible bathroom and bedroom on the first floor and a ramp for a wheelchair to get into the cottage. We had a relative who needed special access. That is just one of the details that make our cottage special. If you have an elderly grandparent or someone else with mobility issues, coming along on your trip, they won't have to climb stairs and will be very comfortable! I believe our place has the best view of the cove because we can look all the way down the lake and see the mountain away on the other side.

Beautiful property and homes.
Great cabins (we rended both side-by-side Damaris cottages), completely updated, beautifully furnished and fully equipped. Wonderful open and screened in porches. Views of the lake from bedroom and living room. We enjoyed kyacking, the bald eagle, baby ducks, fire pit and making family meals in the kitchen. An easy ride to Acadia national park that allowed us to be back for dinner at the cabin. We also enjoyed great service and support from the owners and local hosts.
SUPER NICE WELL MAINTAINED CAMP ON BRANCH LAKE
My family and I stayed at this camp in July of 2017, we had a wonderful time. The camp has plenty of space and has the feel of a "home" We enjoyed everything this spot had to offer. We loved kayaking on the still water in the morning and s'mores by the campfire at night. This camp is located close to Bar Harbor and Bangor. We had one rainy day so we took the kids to the movies (Bangor.) If you looking for a place to swim, fish, hike, shop and relax. This is the place to go.
Relaxing vacation on Branch Lake
My husband and I needed a convenient location to stay between Bangor and Bar Harbor that would also accommodate my mother and her boyfriend. The cottage was absolutely perfect! When we arrived the house was very clean and welcoming. There was a queen size bed and bath on the main floor so my mother didn't have to climb stairs. The view from our bedroom upstairs was gorgeous. Being right on the lake, the views and sounds were amazing - I just wished there had been more loons in the cove. My husband and I took out the kayaks and had a blast paddling around the lake. It's the perfect cottage to stay in and we look forward to coming back which we hope to turn into an annual family vacation.
Beautiful spot, nice, clean roomy house
We were very pleased with the house and the lake. There were only four of us, but the house is very spacious, with many beds and bedrooms with nice views the the lake. There are two big immaculate bathrooms. We don't like to feel cramped and usually rent places that have more bedrooms than we need and this was perfect. We were pleasantly surprised to find a canoe and two kayaks. We had a campfire a couple nights and although it was mid August, we found the lake very quiet. There is a house very close on one side which concerned us when we first arrived, but there is a big fence so we had total privacy. It was a little further from Bar Harbor than we realized, so it depends how often you plan to go there. I would say it took us about 45 to 50 minutes to get there and we went every day. So that is something to consider. If you just want to relax at a peaceful spot, it's perfect. Plus, downtown Ellsworth had so much more to offer which we didn't realize until the end of our stay...we wished we had known that.
Overall a charming, fully equipped spacious cottage in a beautiful spot.
Wow! Perfect Vacation Home.
Oh if only my home were this clean! Absolutely charming home and perfect, quiet location on the lake. Came with everything we needed except our clothes and toiletries.
Close enough to town and to Acadia and Bar Harbor, but not so close we had to deal with the tourists. Far more spacious than it looks in the pictures. We vacationed with our 2 daughters and everyone had their own space.
Great deck with a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains and an enclosed porch for the evenings when the bugs came out. Fire pit in convenient location. Lots of wildlife on the lake to see. Located in a little bay of the lake. If we'd owned a boat, we would have brought it along! Lake was plenty large enough to tube or ski on, though we didn't see anyone doing either.
2 full baths accomodated the 3 females in our party. Plenty of hot water for everyone. Linens and bedding were provided and were very clean. Bedrooms upstairs included a space that would be a perfect play area if you have little ones.
We kept our teens busy with Acadia Park, shopping and dining in Bar Harbor, local water park and mini golf and do NOT miss the Lulu Lobster boat tour! This is a great tour if you get seasick easily and do not wish to go too far away from the harbor. Yes it's a 3 hour tour, but the captain is not Gilligan. Also be sure to have tea and popovers on the lawn at Jordan Pond on Acadia. That was recommended by the homes owner and was a great and relaxing afternoon. Rental came with a list of "to do" suggestions, and they were all worth doing.
Owner is well informed about her home and the area and easy to work with. Her local property maintenance team also did a great job answering our questions and suggesting fun things to do.
We will definitely return!
Perfect Vacation Spot
We just returned from a week at the DeMaris Cabin on Branch Lake... what a wonderful place! The cabin itself was perfect and probably the cleanest vacation rental I have ever been in!
Daphne was great to work with from start to finish. The gas heater didn't work when we arrived (however the electric one did), but after a quick phone call to Daphne, who lives quite a few states away, a technician arrived and the heater worked perfectly. Great customer service if you ask me!
The cabin was better than I imagined and was stocked with pretty much everything you really need. The Branch Lake colors were amazing and the beautiful sunsets could be viewed from the cabin.
I would recommend this cabin to anyone visiting the area - you won't be disappointed. I would rate more stars than 5 if the site would allow me to. Definitely 5+
Thank you Daphne!
