Beautiful family home completely renovated , Maison classée 4 étoiles , near Royan . Spacious and light , Ideal for 2 ,3 or 4 families or for several friends holidaying together at the seaside . Comfortably accomodates 10 to 12 people in 5 or 6 bedrooms : 5 bedrooms are en-suite and 3 are air conditioned . The swimming pool has just been built and the garden renovated. For the safety of kids it has been equipped with an electric PVC roller blind . Several terraces are now available in the garden ,for your comfort ,with deckchairs , dining tables a sofa and armchairs . The Atlantic coast's sandy beaches are only five minutes stroll away. At Meschers , everything is within walking distance , so you don't need to drive , lovely Plage des Nonnes is 5mns bicycle and 10 mns walk , with it ars restaurantshich erve lovely food , 2 mns walk to the port where there are more eateries and cream parlours , 1 mn walk to the fresh produce market and 2 mns walk into the High Street where you can buy fresh croissants for your breakfast . The Roman town Saintes and Royan are nearby and islands just off shore . The area offers great cycling in the nearby beautiful tracks along the Estuary or to the Beach , water sports , forest walks , vineyards and lots more . Tennis , horse-riding , golf , sailing, boat hire are all availble locally . All fully equipped , beautifully decorated with antique furniture . For kids there is the best zoo in France

Amazing place to stay and has everything that you could possibly want to help you enjoy the area. Marie Helene was super friendly. The photos of the property are absolutely accurate and it was perfect for our extended family and guests. The pool was particularly appreciated as we were blessed with very hot weather, the house has more than enough room should the weather not be so good. We had a great time and would love to return in the future

Just returned from a wonderful stay at this French holiday home! The property is perfect for a multi-generational holiday, with two en suite bedrooms located in an annex across the garden from the main house, offering plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. The garden and pool were a highlight – well-maintained, and ideal for both children and adults to cool off in the afternoons.The location was great right in the centre of the village, with easy access to shops and restaurants. Whilst located right next to the church and market, once inside the walled garden the space felt very private and secluded, with the church bells marking the hours lounging by the pool.The house itself is well equipped, with comfortable bedrooms, bathrooms and social spaces that work beautifully for families of all ages.We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in France. We would definitely return.

Vacances en famille idéales

Nous avons passé des vacances merveilleuses dans cette magnifique maison, pour la deuxième fois! Cette maison charmante a tout ce que l'on peut souhaiter pour des vacances réussies. Un beau jardin fleuri avec piscine, les chambres spacieuses et confortables. Située à 15 minutes à pied de la plage. Nous avons été très bien accueillis et n'hesiterons pas à revernir.

Fantastic House

We were a multi generational family and the house was perfect for all of us. The location is fantastic right in the heart of a lovely town with everything you need. You can easily walk to the beach and the port. The pool at the house was perfect and the garden is really well designed. We all had an amazing time. Marie was really helpful and answered us quickly when we had a question. Whole hearted recommend 😊

Vacances idéales

Nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances dans la maison de Madame Chateau. Tout était parfait: la façon dont nous avons été accueillis, la propreté, le charme de la maison, la beauté du jardin. Tout etait mis à notre disposition pour nous faciliter la vie: le linge de maison, les draps de bain pour la piscine, l'équipement très complet de la cuisine, des jeux, des livres... Nous remercions chaleureusement Françoise et Madame Château pour les vacances formidables que nous avons passées.

Wonderfully French!

Right in the heart of the village. Next door to the daily market and 10 mins walk to a beautiful beach. The property was exquisite. Perfect for our familly reunion. The garden is BETTER than in the pictures! You will not be disappointed and we hope to return.

Great family house in a lovely location

This home has everything required for a comfortable week in France. The covered outside space was appreciated. The pool was fun and the privacy of the walled garden was enjoyed by everyone. The house is located adjacent to the small local market selling fresh fruit and vegetables plus oysters, chicken and on occasions cheese adding to the atmosphere. It is a short walk to the local port with restaurants serving delicious sea food. The owner was helpful and prompt in communication. We would certainly stay there again if holidaying in that part of France.

Wonderful family holiday

We had a very enjoyable family holiday in this wonderful house. We were a family of 11 and it fitted us perfectly well. The house has everything to over , a very well equipped kitchen and spacious sitting areas inside and outside.All was spotless clean and had a very homely feeling to it with beautiful antique furniture.We all loved the privacy of the garden with the pool despite being right in the middle of the village.. As we didn’t have a car for all we were very happy that there were bicycles in the garage.We have made good use of them to explore the beautiful area. The village has everything you really need , a daily market, at least 4 Boulangeries a small and a big supermarket and other shops and restaurants. Marie Helene is a very welcoming host and was always very quick to respond for our questions. Thank you for letting us stay in your house. We hope to return one day to enjoy this beautiful house in full sunshine as this was the only let down we had , almost 2 weeks of unsettled weather .

Perfect place for a relaxing holiday

Marie-Helene’s house and garden are absolutely beautiful, very well cared for and offer everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The house is spacious and full of character and everything you need is provided - kitchen equipment, info about the local area, restaurant recommendations, maps... The garden is very private and not overlooked. There are quiet places to relax, sunny spots, shady spots and the pool is perfect for a dip. There are plenty of places to eat at the Port and a few in town, beaches close by, at least two bakeries, a supermarket and daily market at the back of the house. We wanted for nothing while we there so we just relaxed and had a great time. Thank you and see you again!

A perfect holiday home from home

The vicarage is ideally situated in the centre of this typical French village. The property is renovated to an exceptionally high standard and the garden and courtyard are simply stunning, Helene is a super host and was there to meet and great us. I can’t imagine a better holiday place for a large family. The daily market, the evening entertainment in the village, the beaches and restaurants have kept us entertained for the whole 2 weeks of our stay. Don’t think about it any longer, just book it, you won’t be disappointed

Nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances. La propriétaire est très sympathique puisqu'elle a accepté gratuitement de remplir un minimum les placards de la cuisine (café, beurre, nouilles, etc). La piscine est facile d'entretien et toutes les pièces de la maison étaient en parfait état de propreté lorsque nous sommes arrivées

Beautiful and stylish house in the centre of a vibrant friendly village

We had a fabulous holiday in this delightful house which was filled with lovely antique furniture and stylish decor. We were a group of 8 adults with 2 young children. Everything you need was there, the beds were comfortable, the drawing room superb and the kitchen well equipped. The garden is lovely with a nice warm pool and lots of al fresco furniture. The pool is perfect for children and safe with an electric rigid cover. We loved the village and all the local shops and market, right outside the back door. Marie-Helene was charming and helpful and most welcoming. We would love to return here. Altogether we could not recommend this property more highly.

A beautiful property in a fantastic location.

A lovely traditional property in the heart of a pretty market town of Meschers. It exceeded all our expectations with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and very spacious. Lots of seating for meals outside, and also indoors, accommodating all 10 of us easily. It had the added bonus of a heated swimming pool in a tranquil oasis of the beautiful formal garden. The local market provided daily fresh meat, fish, vegetables and local wines. There was also a local Super U just five minutes walk up the road. The beach was a few minutes walk away but if you want to be more adventurous an 18 mile drive towards La Palmyre will bring you to great surfing beaches. I would like to thank Marie-Helene for her hospitality in welcoming us on our arrival and would thoroughly recommend this property and would like to visit again in the future.

Beautiful house in a French holiday town

A beautifully renovated old presbytery in a very French holiday town. The house was perfect for our holiday - all the bedrooms were well furnished and exactly like the photographs - the garden and pool were lovely. The whole house was well stocked and obviously loved by the owners. Marie-Helene met us on arrival and showed us around (her English is very very good) and we never needed to contact her during our stay. The market next door was fantastic- easy to pick up your daily groceries without needing to go to the supermarket.

"Amazing property which exceeded our expectations.

We had the convenience of being right in the centre of the village whilst having the most peaceful feeling once we entered the garden. The owner has gone to great lengths to make us feel welcome and relaxed. location With easy access to the village and beaches, the house is beautiful with lovely places in the garden for meals outside. The kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of bathrooms. .Everything you could possibly need was provided including children's toys and bikes ! We are already trying to convince more of our friends to come back next year!"

A beautiful house in a beautiful peaceful location

I booked this house for my family as a treat and what a lovely treat it was. The house is in the centre of the small town of Meschers Sue Gironde but it was so quiet despite the small open air market behind the house, which was held a couple of days in the week. This was great for fresh fruit, veg , fish and meats. The house it's self is a really good size with plenty of room for the family, it was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The pool was fantastic especially for the children and adults on hot days. The beach is about a 5 minute drive and it was very natural and quiet. There is a small harbour a short distance to walk with a few restaurants and we ate there on the recommendation of Marie Helene the owner. There is also good restaurants in Talmont which is a very pretty village about 10 minutes drive, we visited here twice, it also has a few nice shops for gifts etc..... Another good place to visit especially for a late afternoon or evening meal is Mortagne sir Gironde, you can sit on the quayside of this small port and eat some lovely food, there is also a good large antique shop there if you enjoy a good mooch or perhaps a bit of old France to take home! If you enjoy larger resorts Royan is about 15 minutes drive with a large but beautiful beach, this is a town with larger shops, banks cafes etc.... Marie Helene was really welcoming and we had no reason to bother her all week, with the house being very well equipped even down to buckets and spades and beach chairs etc.... overall we had a really enjoyable holiday and one we would probably like to repeat in the future. We had good weather so utilised the beautiful enclosed garden and ate all our meals outside, making use of the barbecue on several occasions. Thank you Marie Helene for the lovely welcome.

A beautiful house, close to all amenities.

The Presbytery in Meschers is a beautiful house with lovely enclosed gardens. We stayed as a family of ten, and there as plenty of space for all within the house and gardens. The house is well organised, with a cooker large enough to cater for such numbers and significant freezer and fridge space. The town was charming, with a supermarket 5 minutes away by foot, the port with restaurants and swimming beaches all close by. The home owner is incredibly helpful and responds quickly to any queries regarding the house, both in advance and during our stay. Air conditioning in three of the bedrooms helped as the weather was very hot indeed. It is a beautiful house ina charming area of France, and we would be hapy to stay there again in the future.

The property is stunning. Marie Helena is welcoming and helpful in every way. The property is beautifully furnished but also very well equipped. Three fridges for all those cold drinks!. Everything was clean and well maintained. Electricity allowance was generous for us and we used the dishwasher and washing machine every day. Le foret is a fantastic restaurant for a special occasion very large portions

Fabulous house in a lovely French town

There were eight adults staying in this house for a week. We all thought it was a beautiful house with everything provided that you could possibly need - from the well stocked kitchen and pantry to stuff for the beach, particularly for children. The house is well placed for the local market, ie right next door, which is on every morning and which we used every day for fresh produce, such as meat, fish, fruit and vegetables - all excellent. There is a gas BBQ in the garden and a lovely big table situated in a veranda outside which seated the eight of us easily. As the weather was so good during our stay we ate all our meals outside and therefore didn't use the lovely dining room and lounge in the house itself. The property is well situated in the middle of Meschers but is totally private because of the high walls right round the garden. There are lots of places to visit nearby, Talmont, St Georges de Didonne, and Royan to name but a few. The owner, Marie-Helene was extremely helpful and welcoming, and was genuinely concerned that we all had a good holiday in her family home. Hopefully we will return one day to this beautiful house.

Wonderful house and garden.

Eight of us had a great holiday in this lovely house in early July 2015. Our party consisted of 2 grandparents, 3 adults, and 3 children and the house and garden was ideal for us all. The house is spacious and stylish, extremely clean and well maintained. As you will see from the description, there are 3 bedrooms and bathrooms in the main house, and - across the garden - a separate building with 2 further bedrooms and bathrooms. This arrangement worked very well for us. One of the features which we enjoyed most was the large covered terrace, open on one side, which had a long dining table and chairs and where we ate all our meals including breakfast. The terrace provided shade for reading during the day, and the garden had easy chairs for sitting in the sun. Because the weather was wonderful we did not stay indoors very much, and so we did not make use of the dining room and sitting room - but both rooms are very attractive. We found the owners to be charming and helpful, and it is obvious from the quality of the furnishings and equipment that this is a well-loved house. We liked the easy access on foot to the village with its bakeries, cafe and restaurant, while at the same time the high walls around the garden gave us a nice sense of seclusion. We have no hesitation in recommending the house - you will love it! We hope to be back!
