Beautiful resort. No complaints. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, and everything was better than the pictures. Our family had a great time there.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
the room they gave me was not the one I booked the bathroom had a constant water leak and super small
There are 3 buildings at Tradewinds. The Timeshare building is where it seems all VRBO bookings are for. We did the 1 bedroom/ 1 living space room. The room was newly refurbished and the decor was very hip/ trendy. Our teenaged sons were impressed. Our living room area had a hanging wicker “egg” type chair that was a hit. We were ocean-facing, but they don’t have balconies. The Tiki bar below us had a guitar player each night which we enjoyed. Covid mask-wearing was not enforced or followed, especially outside. We kept our distance and felt ok.
We enjoyed everything about Tradewinds! The set up was great, the resort was very clean, staff was super friendly and tons to do! The condo was simple but clean and had everything you needed!
Great location. Great resort. Great price. Great room. Room was advertised as beachfront but we were assigned a room in the other side of the building so we had a view of the parking lot. Other than that, no complaints.
Our experience from VRBO was terrible this year. We rented a condo and got a studio, so we were scrambling to find somewhere for half the family to stay. I spend approximately 2 hours per day for 4 days on the phone trying to resolve this issue. Communication is poor and I still have not received reimbursement
Check in & out was easy through the front desk. Room was clean, with plenty of towels and the usual toilettries. The listing makes it feel like you're getting a suite with two bedrooms (though I may have misread), but in reality its two adjoining rooms that've been configured to appear as a suite, with both beds in one room. The bathrooms could use a overhaul with regards to the doorknobs and shower fixtures. Neither Bthrm door closed fully without some effort, the handles didn't turn well, and both shower faucets were hard to pull and turned endlessly with no clear sense of when you'd maxed out the hot or cold water direction. Other than that, very enjoyable.
Great place to stay. Terrible host, no communication, no call backs. Had to switch rooms due to resort rental pros "policy" of cleaning room. Our name wasn't in reservation until a few hours prior to our arrival. Vrbo was terrible as well,,did not help our situation and we spent hours on the phone.
We did not actually get the property that we reserved several months prior to our trip! They put us in a much smaller unit without the amenities we needed. We paid up front, so we were at Rental Pros mercy. I will NEVER rent from them again and it will be a very long time before I use VRBO again, if ever!
3 days before checking in, we received a call that the 2 bedroom unit we reserved was not available even though we booked over a month in advance. They downgraded us into the standard room and only offered a 25% discount, which came up to about the normal price of that unit. When asked about a little more compensation they were rude and forceful into accepting their terms or canceling my reservation and find somewhere else. This was 3 days before memorial weekend where everything was already booked so we had to accept. My cousins 2 bedroom reservation also got all messed up and they gave him a standard room and put someone else in his room, it took several hours to straighten it out. They also wouldn't let us purchase an additional parking pass and just told us to pay for parking a mile down the road,, which closes at 8pm! Overall Tradewinds was good, but we will never use VRBO for booking again.

Disappointed
Check I : Was on the boulevard side which is what I originally requested but but sent an email stating I wanted an ocean front and patio prior to our arrival. Come to find out there were few to no patios in the blue green bldg. never received a response. Check in was simple and friendly “Brooken” if I recall correctly. Arrived at the room and looked out to a view of a rooftop full of air conditioners. This is not what I expected. Called the front desk they said there was nothing available which was not surprising. Gave it a day and seen many many room come available. Called the front desk again and was told the manager for the blue green building was out but they did send her a message and she would call us that day. No return call that day. Stopped by the front desk the next day and was told there was nothing they could do since that is what I originally ordered and they could not comp me a room. Well, I did not ask for a comped room just what I requested. Not very pleased with the communication process or lack of.
Room: The room was updated with modern accessories. Kinda hippyish which was bright and fluorescent. we had a double room. The refrigerator in the bedroom did not get cold. It always felt damp in the rooms. The fridge in the other room did get cool but would not freeze my Italian ice. The bathroom in the bedroom did not have a working hairdryer. The bathtub faucet was weird and difficult to get hot water or get the water to fill a bathtub. The living area bathtub would not hold water so could only shower and the commode did not want to flush.
Housekeeping: none! You get housekeeping every 4th day. If u want it before the 4th day it cost the tenant $25.00 for house keeping You could get fresh towels if you track the housekeeper down. You take your own trash out if you want the trash cans dumped. I took our trash out and asked housekeeping where to put the trash she said to put it in the dirty laundry bucket. Weird I have never put trash in with laundry.
Outside: the place is. Beautiful with looking out at the gulf. We sat in the cushioned seating which was very relaxing and peaceful. Walking around the facility I found a red ant hill which was close to the family pool which I reported. The following day while sitting at the adult pool a black snake come from the landscaping over to theme t area of landscaping. I thought the snake was medium size but the other guest said it was a small one
The resort is wonderful! We had our daughter's wedding there and I couldn't be more pleased. The hotel staff (ALL of them) were AMAZING! I would definitely come to TradeWinds again.
However, and this is where things went awry - Resort Rental Pros booked me for my requested dates - March 24th thru the 28th; however, they booked us in two different rooms. One from March 24th thru the 26th and one for March 26th thru the 28th. (UNBEKNOWNST TO US) We had SIX people staying in our room AND we had to move on the day of our daughter's wedding... in the middle of getting ready for the wedding!!!! UUUUGHHHH!!!!! This caused SO much undo stress!!!! This happened to other renters as well as we moved into a room where the other people had to move TWICE!!!!
So, here's the bottom line. If you are going to rent from VRBO - rent directly from the owner... NOT from a property manager. We've not had an issue with VRBO before, but we have always rented directly from the owner. Resort Rental Pros clearly overbooked and it was on the worst day ever to have to move rooms.
YES - I would definitely recommend TradeWinds resort, but I would book directly with TradeWinds even though it's more expensive - it would be worth it to not have to move rooms.
Unfortunately communication with the property manager was horrible. I booked a 1 week stay. My stay was booked under 3 different peoples names and 3 sets of dates for the week. So they had us check into 1 room for 2 nights, check out, remove all of us stuff from the room. Wait the 5 hours between check in and check out and move all of our stuff back into another room. I spent hours on the phone with both VRBO, who supports this company & Resort Rental Pros, with no resolution.
They called me on Wednesday to tell me that they couldn’t ‘find’ me a room for Friday night. Being that I booked this in Jan, and they took all my money, you would think they would have a place for me to stay. Not the case. When I asked them for a refund so I could just find my own place to stay because I was beyond frustrated at this point, they said No. I have never in my life experienced such horrible customer service. Don’t book with these people.
Resort rental pros is backed by the Better Business Bureau, yet they have no place on their website to leave customer reviews. So I am leaving it here due to their affiliation with VRBO, whom I booked though.

Nice place, no room service whatsoever
Stayed for five nights, housekeeping never came once. Had to call for towels everyday. Had to empty our own garbage, make our own beds and do our own dishes. Also, they failed to say when we booked that half the resort was shut down for remodeling, so half the pools we closed and the ocean activities for the kids weren't even open. Will never book a vacation here again. Very disappointed.
