The house was everything it was billed as. We loved it. 4x4 beach(you definitely need 4 wheel drive and to air down your tires to get there). Removed from the hustle and bustle. We had horses in the yard every day. Under the house deck. Easy to walk over the dune to the beach, or hop in the truck and park at the water’s edge. If you come stocked with groceries and drinks, you could want to never go back into town.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! There are amazing ocean beach views and it was a quick walk to the beach. We saw horses every day. One day we had horses in the yard! We recommend this place a 100%. Sitting on the deck with the ocean breezes is amazing! The beach is amazing! The drive on the beach was fun - but make sure you have the proper vehicle to handle the sand. My only suggestion is it would be nice to have a grill on the deck rather than in the yard. The yard does have a lot of horse poo which takes away from grilling in the yard. Not necessarily because of smell but because of the possibility of stepping in it.Thank you for a wonderful week!!

Corolla house was awesome

We had a great time! Location was exceptional, house was super comfortable and our host was a great communicator. We LOVED everything about our stay in paradise!

China Swan had us swooning

The house and location were perfect for our beach vacation! Wild horses, wide open beaches and the hammock added to the adventure. Hope to make this a yearly trip!

Beautiful week with the horses

We really enjoyed staying in this home. Driving on the beach to get to the house was fun and seeing the horses almost daily was such a treat. We'll definitely be back!

Horse Heaven

This was our 4th summer vacation at China Swan and it did not disappoint. Location is ideal to see the wild horses.

This was our first time staying on the 4x4 beach and it was fantastic! The house was very clean and the owner was very responsive to my messages. The location was perfect - we saw horses everyday in the yard. It was a short walk/drive over the dunes to get to/from the beach. We were there with our 4 kids and DIL and we all had a great week! We will definitely be back!

Trip of a lifetime!

This was the perfect location for a beach getaway! The house is footsteps away from the beach and not too far from town. We saw wild horses every day! It was a home away from home!

Great Vacation Property

We really appreciated how well equipped this property was for our needs. The local horse herd was present all week, and the beach was not over crowded. A 4-wd vehicle and a tire pressure gauge is necessary for driving on the beach road to the house.

Great place to stay

We loved our stay in this location. The house was roomy and great for our family. The wrap around porch facilitated us being outside no matter which way the wind was blowing. Just a short walk over the dune and we were at the beach. Loved the wild horses in the yard or the area each day. Would definitely recommend

Great vacation

This was our first time driving on the beach and we loved it. House was nice and everything was clean. Note on the directions you can’t see mile marker 16 ( the state should have two of them up for each direction).

First OBX Experience

I fully recommend staying at China Swan!! As a first timer to not Corolla not only this property was amazing but so was Stuart! He was so easy to communicate with and always had extremely prompt and helpful responses! The house itself is beautiful and has the best views!

Everything was great apart from a couple concerns regarding housekeeping. There was a dirty sock found in the front living room by the dining room table along with a past renters pair of sweatpants in a dresser upstairs.

A great place to get away

A very nice house and a great location if you want to get away from the main bustle. Just be mindful of the tides. There is a house on the beach that can cause access challenges when it is high tide. I would give communication with host more than 5 stars if I could. He was very outstanding both before and during our stay.
