About this property

Lakefront on Wallenpaupak with private dock! Saturday-Saturday booking in Summer

This lakefront home has plenty of space for family or friend groups to gather together with a separate sleeping area to allow room to spread out! The main level living space has two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, living room, a screen porch used as an enclosed eating area, and a large deck overlooking the lake. The lower level has a game room with a second equally spacious covered deck and an extra sleeping area with a full/twin bunk and an odd little bathroom area. The upstairs has a loft area with and large bedroom with two sets of bunk beds, a queen/twin bunk and full/twin bunk. There is a private bathroom for this room. In addition to the main house, there is a separate 2-bedroom space and its own private living space (no kitchen) and deck. There is a fully stocked kitchen, BBQ grill, and linens are provided on request. We have central air throughout the house and apartment
There is a private floating dock available from early April through fall. A community boat launch is just 0.3 miles down the road. 2 kayaks and a paddle board are available for your use. The community center also has a swimming pool, playgrounds, tennis courts and basketball court. Boat and jet ski rentals are available on the lake Memorial Day through Labor Day. The dock is in a protected cove across from Cairns Island. This is a beautiful location in a very popular NO WAKE ZONE! Swim right off the dock. Cairns Island has a picnic area and beach, and there is a bald eagle nest just down the road.
THIS IS A STEEP MOUNTAIN PROPERTY WITH MANY STEPS DOWN TO THE LAKE. The marina is close by and could be used to pickup/drop off anyone who might have trouble with the steps. The main level of the house can be accessed with just two small steps and a firepit also on the same level as the driveway.
FALL 2026 NOTICE. THIS IS A 5 YEAR DRAWDOWN YEAR FOR LAKE WALLENPAUPACK. The lake level will be dropped an extra 5 feet starting after Labor Day weekend. Boating during this time will be limited. Docks will need to be removed early and launches may not reach the water. The shoreline will also be a bit muddier as areas not normally exposed will be out of the water.
Summer rentals are Saturday to Saturday.

We enjoyed our stay at the house. Jeanine and Kurt were very responsive to any questions we had. House was perfect for our large group. We enjoyed time on the deck and time on the dock. Some of us even used the kayaks and paddle board. Great private location on the lake to enjoy swimming and see the activity at Cairns Island!

Vacation spot that is family and pet friendly, conducive for large groups, although the property is situated on a steep grade. It has an apartment above the garage that is nicely appointed with two bedrooms and a bathroom, in addition to the main house. Owners were very responsive to any needs, with good communication!

A very nice property for large family gatherings

We had a week long stay with fourteen family members and a small dog, it couldn’t have worked out better! The layout gives plenty of space to gather or quiet separation. The quiet dock location was one of the best on the lake!

Great place for a large family on the water

We had a large family reunion. It was a great place with plenty of room, water access, kayaks, life jackets, all kitchen and bedroom accommodation, outdoor grill and fire pit, large dining table to accommodate everyone. It was perfect for our family.

Friends and Family Lake Getaway

We had a large group of friend and family. The house was very accommodating especially with the two bedroom detached apartment. The deck overlooks the lake was awesome and the location on the lake was wonderful. The fire pit was very nice for evening smores. Definitely going to return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it for a larger group of adults. We had 12 and found it very suitable for what we needed. Highlights included the dock/lakeview, amount of beds, kitchen, the pool/ping pong table, the fire pit, and the "toilet bedroom" in the basement. We were also able to rent a boat for tubing at Pocono Action Sports (which was very close to the house) and drive it to the dock. Minor cons would be the long, slow drive through the neighborhood to get to the house (the speed limit is 15), and the very steep/long walk from the house to the dock (though it helped keep us in shape).

The location of the house directly on the lake and large sleeping capacity make for a great party house. The Apt is particularly appealing. However in general the property, furnishings and bedding are well used and need to be upgraded. The one big surprise was a toilet in tthe middle of one bedroom.

Perfect for Family Reunion

Wonderful space on a beautiful lake! Plenty of room to spread out! Pool table & ping pong was a bonus. Perfect for a large family! Drive way is tricky! A little difficult to manage with an elderly person or someone with mobility issues! Overall wonderful place!

Awesome Property

Great place to stay with friends or family. Tons to do. The property owners have done a very nice job of have everything you really need everywhere you need it. From all the fire places/ heaters on the decks to the fire pit to the lake access. It’s truly a great place to stay. All the amenities you could ever need and more. Saw a bald eagle right off the front deck.

Family vacation

House was just as described. Plenty of room for our family of 12 to spread out. The apartment was perfect for the teens to have their own space yet still be part of our celebration. The only downside is the steep terrain. This is in the description but should definitely be considered in case you have very young/elderly members in the group. Beautiful view and location is convenient to everything.

Wonderful family vacation home

This was a great house for a full family vacation. We had 16 people, 4 separate families, aged 6 to 66. The house had plenty of rooms and space to spread out. It was stocked with everything you could need for a perfect getaway. The only issue was the stairs to the lake. We were definitely warned, but those stairs are no joke. Be warned, they are not for the elderly or those with carrying age children. Would absolutely book this house again!

We have always dreamed of having a lake home for our family to gather and enjoy time together. Our kids are all graduating and starting families of their own, and this home has the perfect layout for extended families. We have a place in Chincoteague that we also rent, and we have found that we love sharing our home with others. We love knowing that others have been able to make cherished family memories like we have. We pride ourselves on constantly improving the property for the best possible experience and take very seriously the suggestions from our renters.

Why they chose this property

Lakefront! We loved the larger lot that this home had compared to many lakefront properties on Wallenpaupack and the distance between homes, ample parking and privacy! Wildlife is everywhere. The cove is protected from the wakes of the main channel on the lake so it is much more pleasant for relaxing on the dock or swimming. It is a very popular place for boaters on the weekends for this reason.

What makes this property unique

We are in one of the best coves on the lake for swimming and safe boat docking. Much of the lake is very busy and choppy in the summer with docks getting tossed around from the wakes. Our dock is nestled in a no wake zone tucked behind Cairn's Island which even has a small beach for the kids without the concerns of high speed boat traffic.
