About this property

We are located beachfront on the Delaware Bay in amazing Prime Hook Beach. We are a little north of Lewes and Rehoboth. The cottage is a comfortably furnished, relaxing, 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath home that sleeps 8 people. The home has amazing water views from almost every room. Two bedrooms have a queen sized bed, dresser and closet. The third bedroom is a much larger family sleeping room with a queen bed, 2 twin beds and a very comfortable couch that converts into a queen sized bed. There is a pac-n-play available. The area is perfect for nature enthusiasts with so much nature all around. This is the perfect place to hike, bike, fish, kayak or just enjoy the very quiet, mostly private beach right out your back door. (There are two kayaks at the house - a single and a double as well as two stand up paddleboards). The beach on the Delaware Bay is generally much calmer than the ocean beaches a little south. If you are looking for more intense waves the beaches of Cape Henlopen and Rehoboth are about a 25-30 minute drive. The restaurants/bars of Rehoboth, Lewes, Milton and Milford are close by as are the Rehoboth boardwalk and outlet shops. Golf, charter fishing and water sports available in several close locations. Several restaurants, a library, a theater, grocery store, liquor store and some other closer shops are available in the nearby town of Milton- approximately 8 miles away. This home has been a very popular rental with excellent reviews (The Yellow Cottage) and is now under new ownership. *We did add an outdoor flood light/security camera at the front of the house which covers the parking area to the street. Please let us know if you have any questions.

The stay was absolutely perfect. The second we walked in and saw the view of the water from the porch and house windows we booked our next family trip. There is tons of stuff to occupy your time without having to bring it with you. The private beach was perfect and the hummingbirds and crabs were fun to watch! The hosts even thought of my son and left a small gift for his first birthday!

This beach house has everything you could possibly want or need for a perfect beach getaway! It’s stocked with tons of games, puzzles, and toys for the kids, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The location is unbeatable—literally just steps from the beach. We've stayed here twice now and will definitely be back again to make even more family memories. Highly recommend!

Lovely Getaway

What a lovely stay we had here. We stayed with several young children and it was ideal for beach access / ease of use. Right on the beach, easily visualized kids at all times. The home is well appointed with basics and lots of kid / family extras like games and puzzles and some toys. Owners were quick to respond and helpful. We can’t wait to come back!

Nice location. You can step right on the beach from the back porch. Very nice acomidations including all extras included to do things. I was able to take my granddaughter on he first kayak in the ocean. We played ping pong. We had good surf fishing right in front of the house. Decent crabing close by. The house was very spacious and had wonderful views. We recommend this rental for wonderful family vacations.

This was our second year in a row staying here. You can’t beat the location, right on the beach! Also the beach doesn’t get crowded at all and being on the bay the water is calmer which is great for our 4 and 2 year olds. Definitely thinking of staying there again next summer.

Quiet Getaway

This was a great place for a quiet weekend getaway. We are lifelong friends and just wanted to be able to catch up and visit. Just far enough away from commercial tourist stuff but close enough to participate if we wanted to.

Why they chose this property

My husband and I both grew up visiting the Maryland and Delaware shore for vacations. We have some of our best memories from those visits. I love hiking, bird watching, nature photography and everything related to the bay and ocean. My husband enjoys fishing, kayaking, walking the beach and bird watching as well. We both have a great love of beach cottages and coffee hour/cocktail hour on the water.

What makes this property unique

Prime Hook Beach is very quiet with an abundance of nature around while still being within 15-20 minutes of great restaurants, outlets and whatever activities you normally enjoy when you go to the beach. The sunrise/sunsets in Prime Hook are amazing and the bay water is much calmer than the ocean and great for smaller kids.
