My family and I spent 4 days at this property and had a lovely time. The cabin is beautiful and spacious enough for our group of 5. Lots of wildlife to see and great atmosphere. Our favorite place to hang out was the wrap around porch-quietly watching the hummingbirds and deer was a favorite passtime. 10/10 would recommend this property!

We choose partly because of it being pet friendly and we so appreciate the host allow us to bring our 3rd small dog. The yard, however, was rough and the dogs picked up stickers in their feet causing problems. We loved the porch around entire cabin and enjoyed using that.

Quiet and relaxing stay

We really enjoyed the property and the location. It was perfect for a weekend trip and the weather was perfect. Plenty of deer on the property to watch most of the day.

Lake Whitney

House was just what we needed for a huge family and friends get together close by. Easy to find and would definitely stay there again.

We loved the porches and the seating all around. Very private. Everything inside was all in good order too. We chose this cabin for the secluded woods around and we were very pleased.

Thanks for your input. My apologies the mattress was not comfortable for you. However, The mattress(s) are not that old and they have a fairly new toppers on them. We recently replaced the toppers.

Hated to Cut it Short

The cabin was wonderful! The wraparound porch gives the back side of the cabin a treehouse feel. Angela is a wonderful host and communications were great before and after our stay which was unfortunately cut short due to an emergency that came up. We would love to come back and stay longer next time!

Wonderful Location

This cabin in located in a community, but because it is at the end of a deadend road, it feels like you are very secluded. There is a nice wrap-around porch, a grill, an outdoor fire pit, and a covered parking area; all nice amenities. It was clean and had a nice layout, with extremely comfortable beds. It is located near a boat ramp for accessing the lake. All-in-all, I'm looking forward to staying at this property again.

Lake Cabin

The location was perfect for us. We loved the wrap around porch with all the seating choices. The inside of the house was a little unclean. The floors could have used a mopping and the window sills were very dusty and full of dead bugs. Even with this we enjoyed our stay and would return.

Thanks for your input. In the future let us know while you are at the cabin if there are any issues such as your claims. Cabin is cleaned after each stay with pictures provided to me. We were actually at the cabin for maintenance right after your stay and found no dead bugs inside, only furniture moved around out of its place and window shade ripped off the wall.

This is a peaceful cabin in the woods. Cabin was comfortable and cozy. My only criticism is the light switches are hard to find. Hidden in places you wouldn't expect. Place is not really built for 3 grown adults. There is 1 full bedroom and a loft over looking the living room with 2 futons. Good place for a married couple to take kids, not necessarily for 3 adults. There are a lot of rules and lots of reasons to lose you deposit so make sure you follow them. Overall, it was a nice, clean place in a remote area to unwind and we enjoyed our stay.

We will be back

I wanted to visit my dad who just turned 90. He can’t do much these days. We had such a great time watching the deer through the big windows and telling old stories. The owner was fantastic and gives great directions. Easy arrival and exit. We will be back!

Great get-away

This is an amazing property. If you crave serenity, this is it. Others wrote about the wrap-around porch; it is truly perfect. We had all of our meals out there, practically in the middle of a forest! The house is great. The kitchen is adequate, but not ideal for cooking; it is very small. It wasn't an issue, but when we go back, we'll know. Nearby Lake Whitney State Park offers very beautiful trails (short ones).

Relaxing and Peaceful

We had a very relaxing, peaceful weekend. When we arrived, the water was off due to a valve issue, but the property owner was extremely prompt in getting help and rectifying the issue. The only other issue we had was that the Vrbo listing at time of booking included a hot tub, which was one of the main reasons for my booking, but the property in fact does not have a hot tub. Overall, it was a wonderful weekend, and we appreciated the owner's excellent communication and prompt handling of our needs. Would definitely book here again!

Hi Joy- thanks for your understanding with the water & hot tub. Apparently, The water company had just re buried a water line and did not turn the water back on to which I was unaware of. The hot tub had to of been a glitch with their site as we have never had a hot tub or advertised we that we had one. Over all I am glad you enjoyed your stay!! Come back anytime.

Perfect GetAway!

The best word to describe our experience was magical! The Cabin at Lake Whitney has all of the ingredients for a PERFECT cabin experience. It feels secluded and private and is only a quick hour from the DFW Metroplex. It’s also located 20 minutes away from two lovely State Parks (Meridian and Lake Whitney) where we spent some time hiking and riding our bikes. The cabin itself is a vacation though. One of the best features is the wrap around porch nestled into a tree-lined hollow with plenty of seating areas to relax (and watch the deer). We also enjoyed spending time relaxing indoors in front of the wood burning fireplace and outside around the firepit area. The interior of the cabin is very spacious, clean and was even decorated for Christmas! Thank you for the wonderful experience, Angela. My sister and her husband have already booked a stay and we will definitely be back!
