About this property

Milnthorpe Holiday Cottage

This two bedroom holiday cottage is set in a private bush setting and provides a great base to explore Golden Bay. Across the road is the unique Milnthorpe Revegetation Project with its walking tracks and sculpture trail. A couple of minutes stroll takes you to a safe beach for swimming, fishing and boating. The cottage is only a few minutes drive to the world-renowned Mussel Inn or you could take a walk along the beach to Collingwood and visit one of the cafes. There is a well equipped bookcase, games and jigsaws for those rare wet days or just sit and listen to the birdsong from the tui, bellbirds, fantails etc. The cottage is pet friendly with a fenced yard and dog motel so your canine can have a holiday as well but please let us know if you are bringing your dog(s).

Special conditions:
Tariff is for 2 guests only - additional guests $15 per night. Smoking outside only, pets by arrangement. The cottage is supplied with bath towels only - we ask that you bring your own beach towels.

Extras: Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave.

it was a wonderful break away in a quiet peaceful close to bush and sea, paradise. everything enables us to relax and enjoy the surrounds. Pet friendly fully fenced was perfect. Great cages/crates if you need then. Want to return as soon as I find the days/dates. Thank you for a sharing your beautiful place.

We love staying at this property as it is a perfect place for us to stay with our dogs. They love the park, which is just across the road, and we feel confident leaving them on the property if we want to go out on the water or visit shops without them. The house is always clean and well maintained.

Magnificent Milnthorpe

Great place for us and our friends. Got to visit all their old stomping grounds and the swimming at the beach was wonderful with the gorgeous view of the mountains.

A dog friendly, spacious house with enclosed yard. Amazing location for dogs with Milnthorpe Park and the beach both accessible straight out of the gate. House has a slightly utilitarian feel to it but was well equipped and held its heat well once warmed up. We had a great stay and look forward to another trip.

Sandy and David were terrific. They welcomed us warmly and gave us some helpful information on the area. The house was warm and clean. The yard was great. The location was amazing, with the Milnthorpe walks, beautiful beach, and area to kayak. Colingwood was a few kms away to grab a coffee and some food. I totally recommend this stay and will be returning! Thank you Sandy and David!!

We had an amazing, relaxing stay. Perfect location to beach and forest walks. Sandy and Dave were perfect hosts and our dog Mr Truffles had an amazing time too. Probably the first properly fully fenced Bach we have stayed at. Thanks 😊

A hidden gem

Quiet, comfortable, well stocked, clean, good parking, central to Kahurangi and Abel Tasman National Parks, Heaphy track. Estuary and beach walk my stand out. River Inn, Tinkys and Mussel Inn good feed. Friendly locals.

Great location allowing access to all corners of Golden bay as day trips. No sea view but only minutes walk to the wharf or estuary. Dog friendly by arrangement.
