The bach is 9.5 km from the SH32 turnoff, signposted Whareroa Village.
Hear the birdsong early morning and enjoy the view of pristine lake and sky with the lights of Taupo and Turangi at night.
The house is on an unfenced gentle-sloping section. Relax in the well heated house or explore the area.
Walk five minutes down to the beach for swimming, launching your boat at the ramp, exploring the nature reserve, or fly-fishing at the mouth of the Whareroa Stream. Fishing license and boat ramp fees may be paid online.
The Whakapapa Skifield is 40 minutes drive south from Whareroa.
There is a general store 19.8 km south at Omori and a supermarket at Turangi. The Tokaanu Thermal Baths are close by on the way to Turangi.
For trampers and bush-walkers, explore at Pukawa or Omori.
Drive 15 minutes north up the Western Bay Road (SH32) to the Waihaha Track, or south through Tokaanu and up the hill on SH47 to Lake Rotopounamu.
The Tongariro National Trout Centre is a short distance south from Turangi on SH1.
The bach has open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, a double room with queen-size bed and a second bedroom with two single beds, all with a view of the lake. There's a double sofa-bed in the lounge and a combined laundry, shower and toilet.
The house has a stove, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, radio, TV with Freeview, DVD, and a BBQ on the deck.
Please supply your own bed linen, pillows, blankets, towels, tea towels, personal bathroom requirements. Cleaning materials are supplied.
