This large two bedroom, two bath Condominium is a Platinum Rated condo located directly on the beach in the heart of Destin. This second floor unit is at the luxurious Sterling Sands Resort.

Sterling Sands is an 8 story, 112 unit complex built in 1995 and is one of the most desired buildings in the Destin area. It is a mid-sized building with all of the amenities and is close to everything that is 'Destin'.

This gorgeous Condo is decorated and equipped with everything you may need! The kitchen is fully equipped and features mirrored backsplashes, corian countertops with an extra deep sink and eat-in bar. Our dining area will seat six comfortably and there is also a wet bar in the family room with an under counter fridge for storing those extra beverages and small freezer with ice maker. The beautiful furnishings are brand new as of January 2016 as are all of the bedding and window treatments with black out lining. The den features a leather pull out Queen sofa bed along with 2 comfy chairs, all with a panoramic view of the Gulf. The family room has a 48' flat screen with surround sound that plays all your DVD's, CD's, radio and IPod/MP3's.

The master bedroom has a king size sleigh bed with a new, top of the line mattress, chest, and a huge walk in closet. There is also a 32' flat screen with DVD for your enjoyment. The huge master bath has a jacuzzi tub, walk-in shower and extra dressing area just outside the bathroom. The 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed with plenty of room for a portable baby bed if needed.

Beachside service is included with your stay

If you are looking for other things to do, Destin offers endless restaurant choices for casual and fine dining. For the shopping enthusiast, we are minutes away from Silver Sands Outlet Mall and Destin Commons which features the Bass Pro Shop. Golfers in the family are also included as there are several championship courses within a few miles, including Kelly Plantation and Indian Bayou. The Sandestin resort area, which is eight miles away, is home to the annual Boeing Open.

Rental not ready for occupancy

We have rented various condos at Sterling Sands 13 times, and we had resided in #213 seven years ago with good results. On this visit we were truly disappointed. For example:

-One of the two elevators was inoperative for most of our stay....Desk personnel noted that this year in peak season both had been inop which created chaos in the 8 story condo.

-Upon arrival we could not find the towels which have always been provided. After extensive search we found them "under the sink in the 2nd bedroom". (Where cleaning items are stored under the sink drain.)

-The refrigerator ice box section fan howled. As an Engineer I sensed a bearing failure. The howling was unacceptable making sleeping impossible so I unplugged the frig. I summoned building maintenance who noted "bearing failure". Over a two hour period he replaced the frig with an identical model....and the ice maker would not work. (I surrendered and elected to purchase ice for the ice section and disengaged the malfunctioning ice maker_) By the way there is a "wet bar" in the unit and as the refrigerator had malfunctioned I opened the small refrigerator to find it was filthy with mold. The maintenance man noted that "He is going to replace it."

-The washing machine in 213 was inoperable. I called the maintenance man who confirmed that the machine could not be used.)

-At various places in the apartment my wife noted that cleaning had been inadequate. This was shown to the homeowner's Association rep. The carpets were filthy.

-The very large TV in the living area features Cox as the service provider with Roku as an added "convenience??". The Cox remote was not programmed to operate the TV other than change channels and volume. The homeowner rep found a method through the Roku control to access channels and in addition to manually turn on the TV as neither Roku remote or the Cox Remote would do so.

-The door to the bedroom would not close. The bottom hinge was not attached.

-The lock on the sliding door to the porch would not secure the door. A wooden pole was provided to block the door closed.

The unit is in need of remodeling, and was not ready for occupancy. This was an unsatisfactory experience.

Wonderful ocean view!

We stayed at Sterling Sands the second week of June. The weather was a bit rainy, but we managed to take the kids to the ocean everyday. The pool is large and clean. The condo is very nice- spacious, pleasant, and has a spectacular view of the Gulf. The owner, Rick, was especially helpful when we had a small problem. I will definitely stay here again. Thanks for helping my family make many enjoyable memories! It was great! JR from Apison, TN

The Best!!

We travel to Destin several times a year and love this location. This is one of the best complexes and definitely one of the best units we have stayed in. The location is perfect for us. Our #1 priority is to be able to see and hear the gulf. We love being able to walk on the sand to the Back Porch Restaurant and then walk off the meal on the way back. The most important thing for us now we have reached our 60's is comfort and this condo has it. The beds are the best and the kitchen is well stocked. Rick was so easy to deal with when we made the reservation and we will definitely call him again.

Great Unit!!

This unit is centrally located which is nice when your family likes to go all over Destin like mine does!! Loved the size and comfort of this unit, as well as the ease to get to the unit from the reserved parking spot and to getting to the beach and pool. The unit owner was very responsive and easy to work with. EVERYONE knew Rick by name at the complex, so you sort of felt like you were getting the VIP treatment :) We will definitely rent this unit again!
