Happiness at the Lake, Kuratau

Breathe in the fresh lake air as you marvel at the magical views of Southern Lake Taupo and its surrounding landscapes, Kuratau is soul food at its best.

We invite you to stay with us.....
When staying at a traditional Kiwi Bach, like ours, guests bring their own linen (sheets, pillowcases, towels, tea-towels). We have a compulsory cleaning fee of $100 per stay.

MORE DETAILS ABOUT OUR BACH:
Our bach is nestled in a sunny sheltered position. This well appointed 3 bedroom bach has everything that you need to make the most of your stay in Kuratau. Kickback and relax or partake in the many recreational activities available on your doorstep year-round, all from the comfort of this home from home.

The open plan living area has plenty of space for everyone, a large flat screen TV with all the usual apps (Use your own login for paid apps eg. Netflix) and a bluetooth speaker. From here, step out to the garden - a large private flat lawn ideal for ball games, and a BBQ for summer entertaining. Outdoor furniture with an umbrella for those sunny days or cosy up in front of the gas fire on those colder winter nights and enjoy a movie or board game.

The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm. Amenities include oven, microwave, blender, crock pot, electric fry pan, lots of pots/pans/crockery/etc and a dishwasher to do the hard work for you while you enjoy a freshly brewed cappuccino from the Nespresso machine (BYO Pods).

The bunk bedroom has 2 x single bunk beds and a wall mounted flat screen TV with USB drive full of children's movies, as well as books, toys and games. Babys travel cot available.

Kuratau is a safe swimming spot, has easy boat access to the lake. World renowned trout fishing is available at both local rivers and the lake, plus there are many walking / biking / bush tracks to enjoy.

10 mins to Tokaanu - Hot Pools, white water rafting. 15 mins to Turangi – boat charters, Tongariro River Trail, National Trout Centre, golf and gateway to Tongariro National Park. Whakapapa ski-field is about 50 mins away.

Great spot for a weekend getaway! The batch was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. Plenty of space for our group, comfy beds, and a great outdoor area. Super easy check-in and great communication from the host. Would definitely come back!

Great Stay

Great location, well equipped, excellent living, dining and kitchen area that lead out to awesome outdoor bbq area with private dining table. Would recommend as great value. Would definitely book again!!

Great place!

We had a wonderful time here. The hiuse was easy to check in to, instructions were thorough, house was clean, you had everything you needed in the kitchen. Kids loved the tv in the bedroom, tv in lounge had lots of options. Great off street parking. All round awesome place to stay!

Happiness at the lake

Two young families holidaying at the lake and a wonderful time was had. Great location, great amenities and indoor outdoor space for the kids to roam. Communication was clear and Todd went above and beyond to ensure we knew about a planned power outage during our stay. 10/10 would stay again :)

Perfect for families

We enjoyed our stay here - the house was beautifully clean and had everything you need. The living room is spacious and the extra TV in the bunk room is a helpful extra. Todd was amazing at communicating, we received all the information we needed about the property in advance and in the property there is a large notice board with loads of helpful information - really thoughtfully put together. Quiet and private location plenty of parking space too.

Very Very HAPPY. We have stayed in many Booka Batches but we would have to rate this the highest.It was unreal.So clean and tidy.very cosy with the gas fire going at night.Just a skip from the lake,which the kids had a winter dip in.Great comunication from Todd.Bunnies every where.Thank you very much...You should be all proud of your BACH.Cheers Kevin & Janice.

Great bach, has everything you need! We really enjoyed our stay here and the hosts were superfriendly! Lots of "extras" in the garage which was like a treasure trove for the kids! Unfortunately we couldn't get the kayaks down to the lake as they would have been too heavy to carry and we couldn't fit them in our car... had an amazing time though and the lake is absolutely divine! Hope to be back sometime!

Great batch for greats moments

It was more than scheduled , confortable, clean all the device were in perfect “ condition “. ( vade-mecum cleaner!, wash machine ( clothe and dish one, not the same…) toaster eeg.., everything we had was perfect . The liment thing in my opinion there is nothing in the area ( or we missed it) to eat outside as a restaurant… It was really a good quality for the price , and we can reach all the time the owner for some advices. Warmly recommended if you had some mobility as a car or a motorbike . Jean Marc

We had a wonderful stay at this bach. It was so convenient to go to the snow fields and also really close to the beautiful lake. The property was really well appointed, it had everything we needed for a wonderful weekend. Toasty and warm, super comfortable beds and a very well equipped kitchen. We really enjoyed the music collection and the kids enjoyed the games. Thank you so much and we will definitely be back!
