Idyllic self-contained apartment

Enjoy great views of Orongo bay from the apartment/unit or from the gazebo. The property offers a boarded walk in native bush. In addition, fresh oysters are available from the bay enroute to Russell.

Property is approximately 7km from Russell, a quaint town with waterfront eateries, offering pristine beaches, watch/swim with dolphins, long walks/tracks etc.

Connection to Paihia is via car ferry from Opua and passenger ferry from Russell

Please note: the pool is shared between the 2 apartments we have onsite and is closed from 1 May - 30 September inclusive. The swimming pool is not supervised.

What a fab place!

Wow this is always such a great place to stay. Superb hosts who have thought of everything and are both kind and conscientious with each guest. Highly recommend this accommodation- 5 star!

An enchanted garden

Absolutely wonderful, perfectly private, well set up garden chalet. Never seen the stars so bright. Lovely estuary view, native birds all around us. A short drive to historic Russell, and by car ferry to Paihia and Waitangi.

Relaxing & clean stay, within a paradise of landscaped gardens & views of trees, hills and harbour

We had a wonderful stay. Loved our little apartment amongst a lovely landscaped tropical garden with beautiful harbour views. It was the break I needed. Short drive to Russel and a lovely boardwalk walk in as well. At night time it was a time to listen to Kiwi calling & morepork reminding you that it was so close to a beautiful natural NZ environment. We also got to view the weka in the garden (which is usual here, but un usual for us as we usally get to see those on SI walks, Loved our stay and will be back

What's with all the concrete garden and house ornamates?

The unit is well equipped, a good size and very quiet. The room was very clean and new. The bed was hard as a rock and way too small for anyone taller than 165 cm. The area gets a lovely breeze and has a nice view. Unfortunately the lovely grounds are completely filled with plastic, plaster and concrete ornaments that really detract from the natural beauty of the bushland. The only ornament missing was a Kiwi. Finding the place is a little difficult as the address on this web site doesn't correspond with the main address on the property or on a GPS. It should read 25 ****** Road.

Nice Location and Property, Very Clean. Perfect honeymoon suite

We had our honeymoon here, they made us feel very welcomed. They generously gave us gifts and complimentary bubbles and groceries, very kind. Such a nice view from every window. Lovely kept gardens. Every little detail of unit done so nicely. Nice and close to town also. Would definitely return. Thank you

Great Accommodation

Great getaway

The property offers a great getaway with everything you could need. Privacy is guaranteed and the use of the pool and gardens just made this a magical experience. Thank you so much for having us and the thoughtfulness you obviously put in to the property. We will definitely be back and will certainly be recommending this accommodation to anyone heading up this way.

Quiet, comfortable, great location!

Great little fully equipped apartment, under 10 minutes drive from Russell. Peaceful and quiet with great views. Nice gardens and decoration around the house. We loved our stay there!

Modern retreat

The unit was nicely located, a short drive between Opua ferry & Russell. All modern facilities, small fridge with ice box, large TV with SKY, good internet & phone network connection. Nice welcome gestures with complimentary bottle of wine & treats. Very comfortable except for the bed which was small (a double futon style) firm & low to the floor. Really not suitable for people of older, taller or larger size, however we put up with it because we enjoyed everything else about the property. Not a bed I would happily return to however for more than a weekend. After viewing the larger, softer bed in the other smaller unit which had less facilities, I would suggest they swap the beds over, esp for people spending more than 2 nights. The pool area was great to relax in (except for the ants which kept annoying us while sunbathing) & the grounds had plenty to see including a bush walk with SO many garden ornaments, animals of every kind, except no kiwi icon to be found anywhere?? Suggest owners add a few as that is what the foreign tourists come to see & is NZ’s national emblem! Would fully recommend anyone seeking a place of solitude or retreat to give ‘Ekaant’ a go. Own transport is needed as there’s no taxi or bus service to & from Russell (no Uber either). Overall a good experience & ticked most of our boxes.

The unit was immaculate .

The unit was immaculate . Lots of little extra touches. Everything you that you would need was there. The only thing that wasn't to our liking ( this is just a personal choice ) was the bed , very low and quite firm.

Lovely place to stay, can't fault it. Beautiful setting, accommodation with everything you need and more. Quiet and private, we arrived on last ferry so didn't get much chance to talk with hosts but they were very welcoming. Excellent and recommended to all. Thanks James xxx

What a little gem !

Spent two nights staying in this lovely one bedroom apartment - very clean, cosy and well fitted out. We woke up to lovely sunrises and felt like we were sleeping under the stars. They catered perfectly for our needs with the essentials, fruits, snacks and a nice bottle of wine. The driveway is a little steep but nothing our little manual car couldn't handle. We'll definitely be coming back for another stay!

The property was very clean.

The property was very clean. Everything you needed was inside the property. Linen and towels. We loved the complementary food which was left for us, so kind. and the location was outstanding. The grounds around the property were amazing. The pool was wonderful. Everything was clean and we felt very safe there.
