Classic Bach at the Beach

Classic kiwi bach at the beach.

3 minutes walk to the beach via a beautiful pine forest walk.

This authentic and quaint Kiwi bach is very comfortable, sunny and warm. It has a small, sunny kitchen. The lounge is fitted out with a TV, DVD player, heatpump and logburner for the winter months. The bathroom includes a shower and washing machine. There are many sunny outside areas, protected by iconic macrocarpa hedges, to relax and unwind.

Waikuku Beach is safe for swimming and surfing. There are many forest and river estuary walks nearby as well as tracks for mountain biking. Just two minutes walk to the playground, flying fox, skateboard area, paddling pool and tennis courts. The village has a general store with takeaways and there is a coffee cart with ice-creams and pizzas during the warmer months.

Ideally, this suits a couple looking for a relaxing getaway or family holidays at the beach.

Walkuku Beach is a small coastal village, perfect for a peaceful retreat. It is only 30 minutes from Christchurch international airport, 15 minutes to Rangiora which has numerous restaurants, cafes, a movie theatre, shops and supermarkets. Only 6 minutes to Pegasus town offering a golf course and pictureque lake with kayak and yacht hire and 15 minutes north is Amberley - described as the 'Gateway' to the Waipara Wineries. The Tuhaitara Coastal Park can be accessed from Waikuku Beach and offers a variety of walking, cycling and bridle trails.

We have great neighbours so no parties, loud music or pets please. Cleaning service is available for $50. Otherwise, please leave Cottage in same condition as you found it. Enjoy and relax!

We had a lovely time here - the wee cottage is bigger than it looks, and had everything we needed for a restful stay. Lots of very thoughtful little touches.

Winter relax by the beach

Had everything we needed. Heat pump was on for our arrival and fire was made. Lots of toys and books to keep our toddler amused. Beautiful beach so close and great trails in the forest for running. Perfect thanks

Beautiful and stylish bach

The property is perfectly equipped. From kitchen to garden, everything is there. For the kids, there are lots of toys, books and DVDs. The beach is very close too... we'd love to stay longer. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Just a beautiful place to stay.

Great location

This is a great place To start or End your visit to the Southern island It is really close about 20 minutes or 30 minutes from Christchurch airport A close walk to a beautiful beach And this home has everything you need to enjoy yourself. The outside has several patios So you can get sun or shade any time of the day And has amazing character. We really enjoyed our stay there

Rustic Cabin Getaway

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this perfectly situated rustic cabin. Very close to the beach and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We loved the fully equipped kitchen and used the BBQ two nights we were there. There is lots of room to hang around outside and enjoy a cold one and put your feet up and relax after a busy day exploring the local sights. The cabin is not for those in search of luxury, but if you like rustic,quiet,beach access,privacy and room to stretch out then I would recommend it without reservation. A.Murphy (Canada)

Great classic beach bach at Waikuku

This classic bach is a short walk to the beach with great outdoor areas for relaxing and the kids to play. It has everything you need to enjoy the large BBQ and Alfresco dining. There is a good selection of toys, books, and DVDs and a lovely Christmas tree with lights. We enjoyed toasting the marshmallows, supplied in the bach, in the outdoor fire. The Rakahuri cycleway from Waikuku to Rangiora was fun and very scenic off-road way to Rangiora. We recommend this bach for a relaxing beach break.

A great NZ Bach

We rented this wonderful Bach for our family staying from Oz. They loved their time there. The garden is full of beautiful spots to sit and a large lawn for the children to play on. It’s private but close to the beach and play area. Inside has lots of interesting things and funky decor . We would definitely book it again. The family loved the frozen treats in the freezer too, thank you.

Gorgeous wee spot

We loved our short stay here, the bach is cute and cosy and was a really short walk to the beach, tennis court and playground which our o year old loved. She also loved the many games, books and puzzles and the hot chocolate and marshmallows were a lovely touch. Thanks so much, we would love to come back one day and sorry we left in a bit of a rush early on the last morning! 😊

Best Little Beach Batch Hideaway

Simply awesome!! Bought back so many memories of our childhood!! The house was toasty warm for us (thanks to awesome hosts) and walking through everything was super clean, tidy and extremely homely, then we made it out back to the sun bed looking to the firepit and back yard . . . . Oh wow!!! Beach is literally 3 minutes walk, beautiful walking to watch the sunrise! Thanks so much guys !!!!

Relaxing week

We are a retired couple and wanted a week away . The place was perfect for us as was cosy and had such a comfortable bed with electric blanket.(It was winter.) We enjoyed walking with the beach so handy and were able to visit friends & family.
