House was great. There was one room downstairs in the house that did not have a lock on the door, and upon arriving to the house and going through to familiarize ourselves with the facility we opened one particular door downstairs. Upon merely opening the door there was a live camera aimed at the door to record anyone opening it. It was rather disturbing and it would have been nice for that room to just be locked. Other than that it was an excellent stay. Thank you for that.

A/C Bait and Switch

The property is listed as having air conditioning. This is not true! The owner didn't tell me until the morning of my check-in. The house is in poor shape, with shower curtains and towel holders that fall down if you look at them. Dishes were dirty. The piano is so desperately out of tune that no one can listen to it. Multiple burnt out bulbs, dishwasher is broken. Missing outlet covers, janky fans, etc. About 500 and a day of work could solve most of these problems. But again, there is NO AIR CONDITIONING!

Hi Theodore, The right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- A/C is not available in the home, and the listing does note this in multiple places so guests can plan accordingly.- The piano is a decorative family heirloom intended for light, casual use; it isn’t tuned for performance-level play.- We're actively working to stay on top of wear and tear between visits and appreciate your notes about shower fixtures, bulbs, and outlet covers.- The dishwasher has since been inspected to ensure it’s working properly.- Additional attention is being given to the cleaning team to ensure that dishes and the rest of the home meet our standards before each guest arrives.- We also noted that during your stay, both the front and back doors were left open, not just unlocked, raising concerns for the security of the property.Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.

I wanted to give this property a 5-star review. It’s centrally located in a nice neighborhood, but many details were overlooked.The biggest issue was the lack of A/C. When I booked, it was not disclosed. I only noticed in another review the morning we left for our 16 hour drive. Canceling wasn’t an option since we were attending a family wedding. I was told it was listed in multiple places, but it was not visible when I booked—I would never have chosen a property without A/C during a week of 100 degree weather. We were told nights would cool down if we opened windows, but the overwhelming smell of smoke made that impossible. Three fans were provided, but they did little to help.Small but important details were also missing: no dryer sheets, dishwasher soap, or garbage bags; no toaster; burned-out lights; laundry left in the dryer; no refrigerator light; dirty cookware and shelves; broken firepit; dirty outdoor furniture; ants in the kitchen. These added up and made the home feel unprepared.Communication was frustrating—messages through VRBO redirected us to Evolve, then to a property manager who was slow to respond or didn’t respond at all. Calls went to voicemail. On arrival, most windows and the back door were unlocked, raising safety concerns.While we enjoyed the area, the property was not stocked, clean, or comfortable compared to others in the price range. Unfortunately, this once-in-a-lifetime trip was less enjoyable, and we would not rebook with this company.
