Banksia Cottage is located on Rushy Creek Farm. It is a tranquil and private rural retreat with sweeping views of pastures, bush and a dam. It is a modern 3 bedroom cottage with an indoor fireplace and outdoor bath and shower. A relaxing outdoor bath can be enjoyed while looking out over the property or the nightsky. Guests can also enjoy walking around the 160 acres of bush and paddocks, 3 dams and a winter creek. It is approximately 400 metres walk from Rushy Creek Farmhouse, also located on Rushy Creek Farm. The cottage has a large verandah on 2 sides where guests can enjoy the view or dine outdoors, or play Finska on the front lawn. Within walking distance from the cottage, is Wild Lot Gin Distillery (600 metres up the driveway and across the road!) and 2 kms from Rushy Creek is Glenarty Road Winery/restaurant. Rushy Creek Farm is less than 5 minutes drive from the Blackwood River at Alexandra Bridge, 10 minutes drive from Hamelin Bay and 15 minutes from Augusta and the mouth of the Blackwood River.

Banksia Cottage was the perfect getaway for our family. It's far enough out of town that we felt like we were in the countryside, yet close enough to easily grab supplies and explore the area's attractions, with the Blackwood River (where my son loved fishing), Hamelin Bay and Augusta all just a short drive away.The location is simply beautiful. We woke to the sound of birds, watched kangaroos grazing in the paddocks and sheep wandering across the fields, and enjoyed stunning views over the pastures, bush and dam, all while sitting on the verandah. One of my favourite moments was relaxing in the outdoor bath while looking up at the stars. It was beautiful!The kids had the best time exploring. There's so much space to run around, and they loved seeing the animals up close and walking down to the dam. There was also plenty of space for them to play cricket and kick a ball.The cottage itself is gorgeous: modern, beautifully styled and thoughtfully equipped with absolutely everything we could have needed. The cosy fireplace, well-stocked kitchen and comfortable bedrooms were great.We were able to find the perfect balance between sightseeing, keeping the kids busy and genuine rest. We left feeling refreshed, relaxed and completely de-stressed. We can't wait to come back!
