It has a nice little collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking a picturesque harbor. Friday night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour is a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street. You won't want to miss it.
The town of Palmetto Point, less than 10 minutes from the house, has several smaller stores and a good restaurant. There is also a new grocery store called Midway Cost Cutters just 5 minutes from Veselka, which has all the basics.
