Cozy Victoria Beach Cabin – Two Screened Porches, Bikes, Firepit and Woodstove

Hi, we're Jay and Julie!

Originally from the Netherlands, I spent over 17 years playing professional volleyball across Europe, including representing the Dutch National Team at the 2004 Olympics. During my career, I met my wife Julie, who played for the Canadian National Team. Volleyball took us around the world, and after many years of traveling and living in different countries together, we made Winnipeg, Manitoba our home in 2015. We now have two wonderful children and love spending time together outdoors whenever we can.

Having stayed in so many homes and accommodations over the years, we've come to appreciate what truly makes a place feel welcoming. We believe it's the little details that make all the difference—walking into a clean, comfortable space where everything you need is ready for you, allowing you to immediately relax and enjoy your time away.

Our goal as hosts is simple: to create the kind of experience we always hoped for when we traveled ourselves. We want every guest to feel at home, create lasting memories, and discover why we believe this special area is one of Manitoba's hidden gems.

Our cabin is tucked away on a quiet, tree-lined property in one of the most peaceful parts of Victoria Beach. Surrounded by mature forest, you'll wake up to birdsong, often spot deer and other local wildlife, and enjoy the kind of peace that's becoming harder to find.

One of our favorite features is the screened-in porch. It lets you enjoy your morning coffee, read a book, or share a meal outdoors while staying comfortably protected from mosquitoes. Outside, you'll also find a cozy fire pit for evenings under the stars and an outdoor shower that's perfect for rinsing off after a day at the beach.

Inside, the cabin is warm, inviting, and full of character. Its unique design creates a cozy atmosphere that blends beautifully with the natural surroundings. Whether you're curled up by the wood-burning fireplace with a good book or enjoying a movie after a day outdoors, it's a place designed to help you slow down and relax.

While summer is known for beautiful beaches, hiking, and biking, the area is equally enjoyable in winter. Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobile trails, skating, and peaceful winter walks are all nearby. And after a day outside, there's nothing better than returning to a warm fire and a quiet evening in the cabin.

More than anything, what makes this place special is the feeling it gives you. It's peaceful, relaxing, and a place where it's easy to disconnect from the busyness of everyday life and reconnect with nature, family, and friends.
