Stunning sunrises over Taiaroa Head

We are excited to share this unique place with you. It consists of the original stone house, built in the 1850s, and an extension added in the 1980s. Set on 3.6 hectares with expansive views and privacy, enjoying your breakfast against a gorgeous sunrise is a perfect way to start your day. Enjoy the abundance of bird life, with stunning views from virtually every window. The outdoor spaces are private, making them ideal for relaxing and having a picnic on a warm summer's day.
The space
The large bedroom features an adjustable super-king size bed, perfect for enjoying your morning cuppa while you watch the sunrise or the ships in the harbour. A buffet cabinet includes a spring water dispenser and a Bluetooth speaker. For relaxation, there is a chair with a footstool by the window, along with a chaise lounge.

Downstairs, you will find a TV nook with a 55-inch TV. A separate dining space comfortably seats up to six people. Attached to the dining area is access to a jug, cutlery, and plates. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, a bread maker, and an air fryer. The laundry room contains a washing machine and dryer. Also on this level are a separate toilet and a bathroom with a shower.

Outside, there is a large private front lawn with outdoor seating, as well as a private backyard area.

4 minutes drive to Port Chalmers - restaurants, bars, shops and supermarket.
Guest access
The large private bedroom is situated upstairs, while the bathroom, TV nook, laundry, and dining area are located downstairs. You will have private access to all of these spaces, including a dedicated private entrance.

Just a heads-up: we may occasionally need to use the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry. Your privacy is our priority, so we will aim to access these spaces only when you are in your bedroom.
Other things to note
Maranui is a peaceful retreat, best suited for adults. Please note that the open layout features large windows and a spiral staircase that may not be ideal for young children. As half the house was built in1850s the home isn't accessible, sadly making it unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

While we are huge animal lovers, our two resident cats are shy and unfamiliar with dogs, so we're unable to accommodate canine guests. Thank you so much for your understanding!
