The grounds are beautiful and well-kept, and the tennis court and pool were highlights. The property worked wonderfully for our 12-person extended family group.We did encounter a couple of hiccups. The pool wasn't heated for the first few days of our stay, but the host responded promptly, sent out a pool technician, and got it sorted, and sent us a gesture of appreciation which was thoughtful. There were also a few minor maintenance items around the house, though the host was upfront that those were already scheduled to be addressed right after our departure — so future guests should find those resolved.One practical tip for anyone cooking here: open the windows and doors before you get going at the stove. There's no hood or vent above the range, so steam and smoke can build up quickly and the fire alarms are sensitive.Location is excellent. Situated near Scudder's Lane in Barnstable, we had easy access to nearby beaches, whale watching, a lovely local library, and the historical society. Everything felt close and convenient.The host and property manager were both responsive and communicative throughout our stay. A few minor inconveniences aside, this was a genuinely special listing and a fantastic setting for our first extended family trip to the Cape. We had a great time.
