Slim's Hideaway - Cozy cabin with spectacular lake view

This two-bedroom cabin includes a comfortable queen size bed in the main floor bedroom, a futon in the living room that sleeps two, a downstairs with a child sleeping nook as well as a futon that sleeps two. There is a large deck upstairs that overlooks the lake, the perfect place to sunbathe or enjoy a morning cup of coffee or barbeque on a new Weber grill. There is a patio with a table and chairs for outside dining downstairs. A 5-minute walk takes you down to the lake and Sunnyside fishing access. Also, you can't have a cabin without a fire pit (availability dependent on fire conditions) to sit around and tell stories or sing songs, located just outside of the cabin. There are several adorable vintage accessories as well as a fun child's sleeping nook/hideaway for the kids. This relaxing cabin is full of charm and perfect for a quiet family getaway.

Phenomenal Experience

This host is unparalleled! Flexible-we had to switch our dates 3 times and NOT ONCE did she act put out. She was overwhelmingly gracious and accommodating!The place is super cool with a great view.I know there are only 5 but this place is a solid 10 in everything! Would we again? Ummm duh, ABSOLUTELY! Would we recommend-100%!!

Great Views and Convenient to the Lake.

This was a comfortable and unpretentious place to enjoy as few days at the lake. Reminded me our cabin growing up. Cindi was a great host and very responsive.

Family reunion

Our family stayed here while attending a family reunion. Great location, close to lake and other campgrounds. Quiet with resident moose nearby! Kitchen had everything and beds were comfortable . Loved the deck and view!

Great stay. Only issue was some hair in the shower & TV reception would freeze the show
. But not a big deal because we hardly watched it. Cute, cozy, and so QUIET!

Wonderful views!

This was our second stay at Slim's and we had a wonderful time. The house is small, cozy and perfect for our family of four which includes a 5 and 6 year old. The best part of the cabin in our opinion is the view and the deck that over looks the lake! We hope to visit again some day and make more memories.

Wonderful Location

I highly recommend this property. There was a abundance of wildlife and things to do in the outdoors with a beautiful view. The cabin was clean and cozy. We will definitely be staying here again.

Fishing trip

I'm sensitive to mold. When i walked in, it smelled very musty. The cabin was ok for two, but with one bathroom upstairs that was hard to turn around in, tiny shower, etc. If you had to go to the bathroom in the night and you were downstairs, it would be very difficult. The added demand of insurance cost, made this extremely expensive 350 per night approx. For a fishing trip that was more than it should have been for 3 of us.

Stay at Slim's +/-

The cabin was clean and cute. The deck was where we spent the most time, and view was amazing. We saw dear and moose. Downside, one small bathroom for 4 adults was tough, especially where it was located. Based on picture, it appears like the access to lake is just down the road from the cabin, but it isn't, so that was disappointing. Access isn't far, just not great. No sleep at all on second and third night due to refrigerator sensor going off every 30 minutes or so, and that was frustrating. Not able to get fixed due to being a weekend.

What a beautiful place!

Staying here was one of our favorite trips as a family. It’s absolutely beautiful - idyllic views, welcoming interiors, and cozy as can be. You can tell when an owner of a property manages a rental place or when they consider the property as a second home, and this place falls in the latter category. It has so much charm (so many vintage decor and kitchen items!), adorable decor, and small touches. Cindi was a wonderful, sweet host who was personable, generous with her suggestions, and responsive. She was so welcoming to my kids and I truly felt she wanted us to have a wonderful trip and enjoy her cabin. During our time here, we saw a mama moose and her two babies right outside the property. We saw mountain bluebirds, robins building nests, and sunrises and sunsets over the lake. We enjoyed stargazing on the balcony at night and long walks along the lakeshore road during the day. This is the mind of cabin where you’re happy to just stay put all day because there is so much to enjoy (in other words, it’s not just a place to stay while you leave and go see other things). The neighbors are kind, too. My son cried when we left because he loved it so much (that loft bed will be a hit with your kids!). It’s just a beautiful place and we can’t wait to come back!

Birthday Celebrations

The place was perfect for us! Cindi was wonderful, we had a last minute cancellation on a different property and she was so accommodating! We were very close to the lake for ice fishing, perfect sleeping arrangements for our family and our pups. Beautiful view so sad our weekend has come to an end, until next time :)
