Mystic... A Touch of Rustic Elegance in the Forest.

Experience the outdoors, and experience the indoors in your own secluded universe. In this romantic setting you won't see any people or cars at this cabin, but you will see nature at it's most pure while you rest and renew yourself. There is lots of fun to be had here. This cabin experience is a fun-filled vacation experience all of its own. When you add the fabulous fun from the City of Helen, and its surrounding outdoor mountain activities you have it all!!!

On the outskirts of Alpine Helen, Ga. is Mystic Mountain Hideaway. As you turn into the mountain trail toward this inviting log cabin all of the sights and sounds of the city disappear. You hear a trickle of water, and everything you see and smell is lush, dense, and green. This log cabin is like a vacation treasure chest full of life waiting to nurture your needs. The deer, and wild turkey are content to share their land with you. Venture down the mountain to the, trout filled, Chattahoochee River. The fish are there to serve you. Enjoy hiking our land enhanced by connecting to 50,000 acres of pristine National Forest. We are a hop, skip, and a jump from Unicoi State Park and Ana Ruby Falls. Mystic Mountain Hideaway is the perfect place to let your inner child come out and play.

Mystic Mountain Hideaway is cared for lovingly, and maintained as a non-toxic cabin including cleaning with green products. Come play, have fun, and help keep this a healthy and pure environment for us, and all of our animal friends who live here. For some added fun toss out some corn and the turkey will come from everywhere to eat and entertain you.

If this cabin experience is not dreamy enough for you then transform the mountain view to the excitement of a day at the lake. Travel just 17 miles to LaPrades Marina on Lake Burton. You will find 3 Levels of Lakeside Dining in the new 10,000 sq.ft. building. You will delight in the beautiful decor with indoor/outdoor stone fireplaces. You can rent Boats and Pontoons by the hour, and by the day to drift or ski your way around the 64 miles of shore line. It's great to get a suntan in the mountains.

You will find a multitude of activities to enhance your vacation in the extensive 'Restaurant & Activity Guide' found just below the map on this site.

About Pam Love

I rent this cabin to bless others with peace, healing, and joy.

Pam Love purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Pam Love chose Northeast Mountains

Before I saw the cabin, as I drove up the trail, I was taken by the beauty of the trees that canopy over the trail. It almost looks tropical with the added beauty of the small waterfall to the side of the trail. After traveling only 2/10's of a mile I felt like I had left the world and found myself surrounded in pure nature and silence. A sense of peace and well being came over me, and I knew this cabin had me at hello.

What makes this cabin unique

When I'm here my problems disappear. When I get home I feel renewed. and ready to face the world again.

Celebrating 32 Years of Marriage With Some Us Time!

  • 5 of 5

First let me begin by saying that even though we have never met in person, I feel like I have made a friend through emails - Pam, the owner, is a sincere and wonderful lady interested in making every renters experience a pleasurable one.

The cabin has charm and warmth was evident the minute you walked in. It was clean and I am neurotic about cleanliness! Furnished with everything to make your stay feel like home from furniture, appliances, linens, kitchen needs, TV, collection of leisure entertainment-books, videos, DVDs, hammock, hot tub .. and more! From napping in the hammock to relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of hiking, we were able to unwind. Sitting on the porch swing drinking coffee or sipping wine and watching the sun stream through the trees and listen to the rain was the best. The surroundings are beautiful and so secluded yet so close to Helen. Not so interested in the "tourist" life of Helen, the cabin was a great central location to drive a half hour in any direction to find great trails in the many state parks to hike. The small towns nearby were charming and wineries! We never ran out of hiking trails from Unicoi, Ravens Cliff, Tallulah Gorge, Black Rock Mountain, Anna Ruby Falls, and the one we never made it to -Panther Mountain. Farmer Markets nearby, Mark of the Potter, and country stores in Sautee Nacoochee. After tiring days, the couch was my favorite to curl up on and sleep and my husband loved the recliner along with a wonderful mattress on the bed upstairs! Throughout the area including right at the cabin are so many beautiful photo opportunities!

I could go on but you get the idea - a great cabin to rent for some calm from your daily life!

Wonderful dream of a place

  • 5 of 5

I really needed a stress reliever and mystic hideaway was just the ticket. Well worth the money, and I plan to do it again! I have told all my friends about it, and they are interested, too. What a wonderful, stress-free, peaceful place to be. I am so thankful to the owners for sharing this treat.

Too difficult to get to with a nice vehicle

  • 1 of 5

Entrance terrible. Steps to porch too narrow and should have a rail. Loft bedroom needs bathroom. Shower needs bath mat and grab bar, dangerous! Cabin was clean.

Owner's Response: Hi Robert, I'm sorry this was your experience. As you can see most people love it. The driveway was just upgraded. Since there is only one bathroom room the best place is downstairs. We don't have a bath mat in the shower because it helps keep everything sanitary, however there is one in the linen closet if one needs to use it. Thank you for being our guest, and I guess this just isn't your cup of tea. Blessings, Pam Love

The perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

The Mystic in an ideal location to explore the North Ga. Mountains and Helen Ga.

We found the cabin to be clean and cozy with all the components to make or stay comfortable.

If a secluded mountain top location, yet in the middle of the action spot is what you desire look no further.

Just perfect!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a remarkable time! It went beyond my expectations!

Myself, boyfriend and our son went and we were all in awe at the beauty surrounding the cabin and with the cabin itself!

My son, who is 7, did not want to go back home. He asked several times if we could stay longer!

We went to Helen and that was like taking a step back in time and in another country! It was quaint and everyone was very nice!

We went tubing down the "Hooch" and had a blast!

We visited Anna Ruby Falls and that was quite the site. I could sit and stare at it for hours! The hike up was not bad at all.

We also hung at the cabin, grilled almost every night and went in the relaxing hot tub!

We were sad to leave but would love to visit again and HIGHLY recommend this cabin to everyone! The owner, Pam, was a pleasure to deal with and was there to answer everyone of my questions (I had quite a bit)!!

Thanks Pam and Jerry for the wonderful family vacation!

The cabin trail is 2/10's of a mile long between the highway and the cabin driveway. It is a bit bumpy, and the driveway is a steep asphalt driveway. We request that no motorcycles or no low riding sport cars travel the trail. I travel fine on the trail in my 4 cylinder Sunfire, and my housekeeper drives a Mustang.
