Upscale and immaculate, this 2 bed, 2 bath condo across the street from White Sands beach is your ticket to paradise. Modern and well appointed, you'll feel surrounded by comfort and luxury. Master bedroom has a California King bed with bathroom en suite, flat screen TV with cable and access to the lanai. Second bedroom has a king bed with bathroom just outside the door. A/C, full size washer and dryer.

Living room has a flat screen TV, and WIFI (computer NOT provided), bluetooth, and air printer.. Very large lanai has a table and chairs for dining al fresco, along with other chairs to relax. Kitchen has everything you should need in it to cook (or not). Pans, utensils, bowls, dishes, etc.

Grounds are beautifully manicured, there is a pool and BBQ area, and a pool table available for all to use. The site manager is very good about keeping White Sands Village quiet, clean and friendly. This is a great place for a romantic getaway or for families with children.

White Sands Village is located on Alii Drive ('the strip'), several miles from the 'original' townsite of Kona. Popular Magic Sands beach park is across the street, with bathrooms and showers. The condo is located in the front/northern side of White Sands Village, towards the back of the building, so there's no beach or street noise. One mile south, you'll find the town of Keauhou, where you'll find shopping, restaurants, movie theaters, golfing, snorkeling, and a small boat harbor.

This unit is considered first floor, but has parking underneath, so is not at ground level. There is an elevator, but this condo would not be suitable for anyone unable to walk up some stairs. The building is concrete so is extremely quiet, and stays fairly cool.

Kona is a very laid-back town where the aloha spirit still lives. Plenty of restaurants and shops line the beachfront giving you a very quaint and friendly feel. You won't find bunches of skyscrapers here, just low lying buildings to allow you beach views from restaurants. People still stop to let you cross streets here. If you're looking for a friendly, fun and adventurous (or not, you pick) vacation, Kona is the place for you.

What makes this condo unique

I've decorated the condo in Hawaiian with red walls for the Goddess of Fire, Pele, and for sunsets. I love the old Hawaaian posters, so I have some replicas, along with my favorite hula pictures anda few comical geckos to round out the bunch. It's very comfortable and relaxing, especially in the evening when the lights are low! It's perfect for families, honeymoons, or just anytime. I hope you love it as much as I do.

Loved our stay!

Aloha Penny, Just wanted to thank you so much for renting us your condo for our Big Island Holiday. It was truly a home away from home. The place was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is well supplied with everything we needed . The beach just a walk down the driveway was fantastic. Boogie boarding and snorkeling were really good that close to our holiday home. The pool and hot tub were great for a relaxing time in the evening after a full day of activities. Thank you also for accommodating a late check out as our plane didn't leave till mid evening. Thanks again, we will be back!

Love this condo!

Our family loves this condo! We love the convenient of walking across the street to Magic Sands beach everyday! The place had everything a family would need on vacation! Penny is such a great owner . She allowed us to check in earlier than the allowed time, if we had arrived earlier but didn't. She even let us stay a few hours 2 days after we checked out because our flight wasn't leaving until 9pm. Thanks for everything and we really enjoyed our stayed here!

July family trip

This was my first trip to Hawaii and first time using VRBO and i was very pleased with both! The condo was in good condition, the pictures adequately captured the unit and location. It was very clean and well stocked with the kitchenware and linens we needed. Pool was great and we spent hours soaking up the rays while listening to the ocean waves crashing agains the beach across the street. Very pleased with the experience. Penny did a great job prepping the condo and giving us some pointers for our stay. we would definitiely recommend for a family looking for relaxation and all the basics!

Ou week on the big Island

My sister and I stayed for a week at this condo. I would highly recommend the property. It is well decorated, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen has just about everything you need. The location was fabulous. How lucky were we to walk to Magic Sands Beach while others were trying to figure out where to park and if the tide came in too far, we walked over to the pool. We found it convenient to the farmer's markets, grocery shopping and the "downtown" area. We ate dinner one night at Kenechi Pacific which was less than two miles away and it was superb! Two breakfasts at Lava Java close to town were also great. Outriggering from the King Kamemhameha hotel allowed us to paddle with the dolphins. We enjoyed our outing to Hilo - 2 hour drive - picnic at the Japanese garden, shopped the little town, visited Rainbow Falls and the small market. If you don't mind driving to another beach the Kapuna beach in the area near the fancy resorts was fabulous - $5 to park, short walk to the beach and the waves were perfect for body surfing and swimming! We also visited petroglyph trail, which was OK a 1.7 mile round trip walk.

Great stay in Kona

We had a great stay in Kona. Had problem with oven and Penny and Bill came right over and repaired the oven.

We went around the island twice, went sport fishing didn't catch anything but, instead we got to see the whales instead.

Went to see the volcano twice, to black sands beach, snorkled, lauau best x-mas ever saw turtles and all kinds of reef fish. Great white sands beach. Like Penny said, just walk across the street.

Condo Living

This condo is located nicely across the street from a popular boogie boarding beach, magic sands. Every morning we'd go there and boogie board. The condo supplies the boards. In the evening we could go there to watch the sun go down. The open air trolley bus goes by the condo daily and stops close by. It costs 2.00 each per ride. The condo is on Ali Drive and if you go down to the end there is a lot of shopping and open air restaurants. We loved going to Lava Java. It costs a little more but the food and service is great and they have wonderful entertainment. The farmers market is on this street and the Market Place. We arrived after hours at the condo and had no difficulty getting in. We took our GPS so it took us right to the door. The office staff are very friendly and helpful. The condo is fully stocked and some nice touches we appreciated were; having a roll of toilet paper, bar soap, and a printer. The condo itself was clean but we did find the dishes weren't always clean and this is likely because previous condo users didn't clean them properly. The outside of the fridge feels like it needs to be cleaned but I understand that it is clean but it has salt water corrosion. The picture of the living room area didn't match the actual contents. The sofa was different and the cushions were flattened in spots making it uncomfortable to sit on. We did contact the owner during our stay and received prompt service. I would recommend this condo to 55 and older but children are allowed. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come again.
