You won't find a better value for your vacation in the Winter Park area. This home, located on a private one acre wooded lot lets you get away to quiet privacy, but is convenient to all the activities of the Grand County recreation area. Ten minutes to Winter Park. An hour and a half from Denver.

Downhill skiing and boarding, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snow tubing, snowshoeing, all within minutes of the house.

Devil's Thumb Ranch & Snow Mountain Ranch are also both popular with wedding parties and located nearby.

Layout: Over 2,000 square feet in this home. There are three bedrooms and 2 baths on the first level. Bedroom 2 has a king size bed and reading chair. Bedroom 3 has two twin beds. These bedrooms share a bath. (Tub and toilet separated by a door from counter and sink) Bedroom 4 has 4 bunk beds and a bathroom. Upstairs is the great room, kitchen and master with king size bed. Master area has doors that can be closed off so toilet and sink can be accessed by others on main level without disturbing master, which has its own additional private counter and sink.

Heat is individually controlled in each room, so everyone can have it set the way they prefer.

Also works well for two families to share - parents have the king beds, up to 6 kids in bunk or twin beds.

Updated kitchen has granite countertops and a generous supply of dishes, pans, utensils, crockpot, mixer, griddle- everything you need for cooking.

Direct TV with DVD player.

Garage with electric door lets you drive in without exposure to elements.

About Brian Anderson

This property has been in the family for years, but we took over in 2001. It is a favorite place to get away and enjoy the mountains, scenery and serenity and the kids have wonderful memories of the great times at the mountain house. It is available when we are not using it.

We love Grand county because it has everything you could want, from skiing in the winter to all the summer activities. Easier to get to from Denver than Summit County - no congested tunnel to worry about.

What makes this house unique

When you stay at the house, you are off in a quiet reserve - all the properties nearby are acre plus lots. When you step out on the balcony, you see mountains and trees, not someone else's house or driveway or balcony. But in a few minutes you can be at the ski hill, the grocery store, at the lake or golf course or doing any of the many activities in the area.

Great Family Cabin in the Mountains!

We spent a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday in this great 4 BR cabin in the mountains just outside Winter Park. The cabin is located a larger private wooded lot in Winter Highlands with stunning views from the 2nd floor deck of the snow capped mountains and Winter Park ski slopes. The interior is warm and extremely cozy with a large master suite with king size bed on the 2nd floor. The main open 2nd floor living area has a large modernized kitchen, dining area and family room with wood burning fireplace. Downstairs are 3 more bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The views from the upper deck are simply stunning and there is a porch swing on the lower front porch.

The owners have really created a "home from home" experience with this well appointed mountain cabin. We spent evenings around the large dining table playing games with the large fireplace crackling in the background. There were even 3 plastic sleds in the garage for use in winter.

This is a truly amazing cabin for those looking for a private mountain getaway yet is located within 15 minute drive of Winter Park Mountain Resort and Winter Park downtown area to the south and 20 minute drive to Lake Granby to the north. The owner is extremely easy to work with and provided a detailed information sheet on the home and nearby attractions in the surrounding area.

Fantastic cabin in Tabernash CO

We visited this cabin over the 2017 Christmas holiday and had a fantastic stay. There were 9 total in our group (5 adults, 4 children) and the cabin had plenty of space for us all to relax and enjoy each others' company. The furniture and beds were super comfy and the kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/utensils, etc for family meals. We particularly loved the great room on the top floor that was wide open for all to hang out, cook, play games at the table and warm up by the fireplace. The mountain views from the top floor windows, as well as just outside the cabin, are incredible and it is well spaced from other cabins in a quiet neighborhood with easy highway access. Winter Park is an easy 10 minute drive from the property, as are the grocery stores. Had a great time at the local movie theater and rec center in Fraser on days that were not spent on the slopes. We would definitely rent this cabin again and highly recommend it to all, especially large families. Although we did not meet Brian, he was super easy to work with and promptly returned our damage deposit shortly after our stay. Thanks for a great vacation Brian!

Had a wonderful stay!

We really enjoyed this property. My wife + another couple stayed here over a weekend in mid-September. A great time of year for mountain scenery & color changing Aspens. Location is great with towns nearby in either direction. Close to Rocky Mountain National Park, the drive to Estes Park (2+hrs) is incredible with views reaching over 12k feet. Passing thru Grand Lake is beautiful as well. The house was exactly like the pictures show, the living room/kitchen is awesome! Nice open area & ample space for a few "chefs" at any given point. The propane grill outside on the deck was perfect, we made some incredible dinners during our visit. Firewood for the fireplace was in ample quantities, making our evenings perfect.

Cell phone coverage was near full strength LTE (T-Mobile) in case anyone was curious, don't be discouraged about not having WiFi. The beds were super comfy! The upstairs master suite is very comfortable. The deck/patio outside is exactly what we needed, beautiful views & privacy. If Brian would have us, I'd love to stay here again. Many thanks!

Owner's Response: Because this is a family property that we use, we try to keep it very well stocked and comfortable for the times we rent it out. We do allow guests to use our woodpile we cut in the summer, but ask that they be conservative in their use so it will last for everyone.

The house is located at 847 CR 856 (formerly Lion’s Lane) Winter Park Highlands, Tabernash, CO 80478
1. CHECK-IN TIME IS 4 pm on arrival date AND CHECK OUT IS 10 am. Mountain time. (We are usually flexible if schedules permit).
2. This is a NON SMOKING house.
3. This is a NO pets house.
4. We will not rent to vacationing students or singles under 25 years of age unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent.
5. DAMAGE/RESERVATION DEPOSIT- A damage/reservation deposit of $350 is required. This must be received to hold the reservation. The deposit automatically converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival. The damage deposit does not limit the liability of the renter for damages beyond that amount. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable within (7) days of departure, provided the following provisions are met.
a. No damage is done to house or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear.
b. No charges are incurred due to contraband, pets or excessive dirtiness requiring cleaning efforts above and beyond the normal routine.
c. All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in refuse containers in kitchen or garage.
d. All keys and garage door openers are left and house is left locked.
e. No linens are lost or damaged.
f. Check out has not been delayed beyond the agreed time and date.
6. PAYMENT – An advance payment of $200 is required 60 days before arrival. (VRBO online booking collects this automatically when reservation made) The advance payment will be applied toward the house rent. The advance payment is not a damage deposit. The BALANCE OF RENT is due thirty (30) days before your arrival date.
7. CANCELLATIONS – A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay or that are made within 60 days of the arrival date forfeit the full ad
