About Albrecht Molsberger
We are a Doctor couple, living in Germany, Düsseldorf and we are interested in travel, sports, culture and special properties.
Albrecht Molsberger purchased this Chateau / Country House in 1995
Why Albrecht Molsberger chose Banyalbufar
We travelled a lot, and at one of the most beautiful coasts of Europe, we found this finca - a fantastic view over the Tramuntana mountains, the sea and the small village Banyalbufar.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
If you wish, it can be an ideal place to unwind, relax, sunbathe. A village with restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. And if you wish, you can be in the nearest major city in 10 minutes and in Palma in just over 30 minutes.

Beautiful villa looking at the sea
Absolutely loved this place, the property manager Tony was fantastic and the gardens and property totally fabulous. Would definitely stay again.
Very well equipped and spacious house with a wonderful garden and great views. Very friendly housekeeping service and we felt very welcome at the house!
Superb Destination and Finca.
The Finca in Banyalbufar is a magnificent home. It's much larger than it appears in the pictures and is located on the edge of the village with fabulous views of the Mediterranean Sea and Tramuntana Mountains in which it's cradled.
The house actually feels like a small castle with a huge living area and many terraces.
A castle with a avantgarde vibe. Several interesting contemporary paintings enliven the interior making it very much of the moment.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are to a comfortably high standard. I slept in what was effectively a suite with large bedroom a dressing room, bathroom and it's own terrace.
Antique beds with modern mattresses worked well.
The kitchen has a gas range and is well equipped.
You need a torch but the walk to the village is only 5 minutes and there are some nice places to eat. We tried two of them,1661, was the best.
Palma is easy to get to, 40 minutes, Esporles is a halfway point and we ate in the excellent Es Brollador.
Overall an superb destination.
Beautiful house but noisy
Beautiful house but you can hear every movement of everyone in it. As a result, not much sleep...
Garden lovely. View extraordinary.
Would have been nice to have a ´welcome kit’ with advice on nice places to visit etc. In English...
Tony charming and looked after he pool very well.
I am glad you liked the house, garden and phantastic view. And thank you for your suggestions. Descriptions of beaches, tours and places of interest can always be found in the mobile guest post on the app on your mobile phone. However, it is possible that not all guests use this access. We will accept your suggestion and make a print/separate PDF available to our guests with immediate effect. Too bad you felt the house was clairaudient. In fact, I can understand that when some guests are still watching home cinema late at night it might get a little noisy. Howeber the house is built according to all current building regulations and it should be very quiet at night. Over 30 guests so far have had no problem with sleep and rest. All the best and thank you again Albrecht
Paradise With a Million-Dollar View
It's hard to overstate the sheer fabulousness of this property. The description by the owner in no way disappoints or exaggerates the reality. The house is beautiful - spacious, tastefully furnished, spotlessly clean, and with a fully-equipped large kitchen. There's a gorgeous view from every room. Outside, the garden is wonderfully landscaped and maintained. The location is idyllic - perched up on a hill overlooking a gorgeous bay and the beautiful old town. It's perfectly peaceful and quiet with lots of perfect places to sit and chat or enjoy a book, inside and out. Exploring Mallorca, especially the spectacular northwest coast, is very easy from Banyalbufar and a day trip into Palma is easy. Tony met us on arrival, providing the key and all the information we needed for our stay. Albrecht, the owner, was extremely helpful and responsive. It's the perfect place to stay in Mallorca!
Lovely On The Outside, A Big Letdown On The Inside
We arrived at the finca after travelling for 16 hours, but the caretaker did not know who we were, or how long we were staying. He stated the owner had not informed him about our stay. This was an unprofessional start to a trip to be confronted with after flying all the way from New York. Further, due to the caretaker not expecting us this may explain why there were dirty used utensils in the kitchen, and a used Nespresso machine.
The beds are old, and the mattresses felt like it too. I got bitten badly every night and had to keep changing rooms. Upon returning to the UK I saw my Dr who believes the bites were from bed bugs. The rooms are hot and there is no air conditioning or fans, so a perfect breeding habitat for bed bugs. There are 5 bedrooms though only 2 have mosquito nets. I even got bitten in one of the beds with a net.
Several light bulbs did not work and there were broken lamps. We managed to fix some of them, but this should be done before our arrival. There were shutters which banged in the night due to broken hinges. We had 3 continuous nights of being woken-up and having to go around the building in the night trying to fix them. So no restful sleep for us. We were not on vacation to mend the property for the owner.
There’s a long steep twisting drive up to the house, and not a single driveway light worked. Extra caution is advised at night because you are driving in pitch black. All lights should be fixed before guests arrive.
The owner has not considered leaving a manual in the finca written in any language so that people can operate the TV/DVD/music system. Most home owners have the sense to make a manual describing how things work, which remotes to use for the TV, etc. The only thing we could use was the WIFI. It was a complete waste of time bringing our own DVD’s.
We were informed the pool would be cleaned most days. It was only cleaned on the morning we left.
Despite writing to the owner a few days before going to the finca asking for additional information regards getting to the finca and car hire, I never got an answer.
From the outside this is a lovely attractive home. But once inside the finca it is very basic, and it does not function properly. And the very first thing you see when entering the home is gym equipment. Odd!
If this had been a hotel we would have definitely checked-out early.
I have since communicated with the owner of the finca regards all these issues, but their response has been unsatisfactory.
My wife and I are very sorry that your experience in our house was less than perfect. We have owned the Finca for more than twenty years and continously spent a lot of time and money to make it a paradise - for our family, friends and for our guests. So all of the antique Mallorquine beds have been refurbished to meet the standards of modern beds. The house was not advertised as having aircon, however - airconditioning and very advanced mosquito netting for all bedrooms will be installed by Febr. 2016.This being said we cannot follow some other points of your feedback.
We sent you, as we do with all other guests, an extensive PDF pack including information like detailed directions, maps, pictures and what to check upon arrival. We replied to your emails asking for the address of the house, wondering whether you might have accidentally neglected to read our information. Our caretaker was absolutely aware of your arriving, welcomed you and showed you around.
With regards to your allegations of bed bugs: never in the 20 years of our ownership have we had any problem with bed bugs. Over those years we’ve replaced the mattresses multiple times. Neither the guests immediately preceding you nor the guests after you reported any bed bugs either. We suggest your doctor might have a second look at your bites, as they were most probably mosquito bites. This is no unlikely in the Mediterranean climate, although every bedroom has mosquito nets on the windows and there are mosquito nets available for the beds. Considering my wife and I are both medical doctors and we, together with our family and young grandkids, use the house ourselves, we wanted to ensure that the house is a healthy place to live and have since double checked in order to categorically rule out bed bugs. And of course, we advise our cleaning staff to keep all linen and mattresses in perfect condition.
The mobile numbers of our staff and ourselves have been provided to you as to every other guest. Everyone is happy to help with any upcoming problems. We think you would have had a more satisfactory experience had you contacted us immediately during your stay, instead of starting an email discussion several days after you have left. We would have gladly provided support to rectify any issues during your stay.
Again, we sincerely apologise that your stay was not to your satisfaction. We will of course take your feedback into consideration as we continue to make improvements to th
